Who thought of this idea, really? As far as we know Lucas only came up with the idea of Storm Troopers*, and that they should have helmets. Then the designer guy did all the work and came up with the look that everyone instantly recognizes today.

*No wait Adolf Hitler did that lol jk jk

Well, my own computer is in the store being repaired so I can't really install any programs right now. But once I get it back I'll definitely look into GIMP. Thanks!

PSP vs Photoshop Posted July 27th, 2011 in Art

This might be an insipid or just plain dumb question. If so, forgive me.

I'm no artist by any stretch, nor am I very well versed with photomanip software. I've been using Paint Shop Pro for a while now for my rudimentary artistic needs, but I'm thinking about maybe getting a bit more seriously involved in graphic art. So my question is thus:

In a choice between Paint Shop Pro and the perennial favorite Photoshop, which would you choose? Why? How do the prices compare? Are there any other, less known programs which you think are better than both PSP and Photoshop when it comes to photomanipulation or just general artistry?

Also: Flash and Photoshop are both published by Adobe. Does this mean that Photoshop has any special functions relating to Flash?

Thanks for the help! =)

It wouldn't actually surprise me if his aryan/Christian background in some way helped mitigate his punishment. Ever since the Sweden Democrats got elected back in September I've no faith in any of my fellow Scandinavians. He should've just shot only kids with Muslim heritage, then he wouldn't been home free.

Uh, okay, so, there was this rich American dude visiting Australia and he came upon a small town in the outback called "Mercy." He found out Mercy was famous all over Australia for a special kind of tea made by dipping koalas in hot water. (Just... hear me out here, okay?) Naturally, this American dude with all his money was all for strange and exotic, so he decided to try a cup. He was sat down at a little table and given a pretty little porcelain cup with a steaming liquid in it. He raised the cup to his lip... and immediately sprayed tea everywhere when he felt coarse hair in his mouth.

"What the hell," he yelled at the waiter. "Couldn't you have gotten rid of the koala hair before serving me the tea?!"

Now, the waiter, he looked at this American and said in a cold voice: "Sir, the koala tea of Mercy is not strained."

Response to: bands you dislike Posted July 26th, 2011 in General

There are a lot of really terrible bands but I don't really have the energy to hate 'em. One band I can really do without, however, is Avenged Sevenfold. I mean, they're pretty good. They're good at playing. But they're just so incredibly unremarkable and banal, typical metal bullshit which really doesn't do it for me, and the fact that everyone around me lauds them for being the best thing since condoms (I surround myself with idiots, I know, I know) only makes it worse.
