Since a outbreak could happen anytime, and if it happened somewhere not in the US then the CIA or anyone who is important would try to cover it up so that no one panics. This means that if it spreads quickly an outbreak would catch me off guard, if this happens this is what I would do.

* There would be panic and mayhem so it wouldn't be safe to go outside or stay inside my house.
* It would take long for you to barricade your house, not to mention it would get you noticed quick.
* Family, relatives that are far away are most likely infected or dead, if you want to survive then you will need to think about yourself first.
* Your best bet would be to go into hiding for atleast a week, for the mayhem to calm down I would try a bomb shelter since it has food and supplies. I know several people that have bomb shelters that I can go hide in...
* Depending on what level the outbreak determines how long you wait in a bomb shelter if it is a level 4 then I would suggest to wait for a week and then leave to get more supplies like guns, more food, and any other supplies that you would need. Then hopefully find any survivers if any is skilled in the arts of a boat I would use a boat to get to an isolated island..
* If all is lost I would try and wait it out and go back to a bomb shelter, I would probaly wait for about a month painting fat signs saying "ALIVE HERE" if not I would eventually run into a horde of zombies as an attempt for a suicide, ( If everyone is dead, why wait any longer we all have to die someday)...
