Yes, but that doesn't mean the poor is going to be thrown into the wind. There are going to be mandates and clauses in there that make sure that you are going to be provided. It's also there to make sure that children are insured as well because there is no reason a child should not be provided with health insurance.

If 40% or so if the doctors QUIT, explain how we can support 32 million more people.

Where, oh where, is there proof that half of the US doctors are going to quit their jobs? Is there a doctor lobby group that threatened congress if the bill passes? Is there a poll done by doctors that says that they are going to quit if this bill passes? Is there anything that tells us that this is going to happen?

If you can prove this to me then I will be more than willing to shill out my anger for this bill, but the fact is that I really don't think doctors are going to quit because of this and the fact that you can make up a number and then tack on your ideaology behind it doesn't exactly mean that's the truth.

Also, where is there proof that 40 states are going to sue the federal government? For what? They don't exactly have much of a leg to stand on even if this was true (it isn't).

Also, HOLY SHIT! We are already paying for illegal immagrants in our taxes because they go in for Emergency room care. THIS CHANGES NOTHING! In fact the provisions in the bill are going to greatly decrease the chances illegal immagrants are going to get care.

Finally, the President won't be impeached. Know why? Because this shit isn't an impeachable offense. If you actually took a fucking civics class rather than just repeat whatever random people told you then you'd actually figure out, hur hur, that in the realm of impeachable offenses this rivles the President telling people that they have to wear purple on Thursdays.

Next time bring some proof with you in this conversation rather than blathering on some shit that you should know isn't even true.

Video Game Copy Cats Posted March 20th, 2010 in Video Games

You know, I'm really getting sick of this stuff.

I don't know what got into video game developers minds, but apperently the feel they can rip off an image from another video game and make it just a little bit different for their game. You see it happening more and more. Not just from video games either, but they rip images from various places.

I've cateragorized a list of original characters from video games and the onest that rip them off:

#1: Master Chief and Samus Aran
Obviously Samus ripped off Master Chief from the awesome Halo series. You get one of the greatest games ever on the greatest console ever and you have Nintendo go ahead and rip off the character. "Ohhh, but we made our character female." It doesn't matter you guys are just ripping of Bungie.

2:Crono and Goku
Crono is the main chracter from Crono Cross and Goku is the awesome main character from Dragonball Z. The animators obviously did a very good and hard job trying to recreat Goku's image for the game. Obviously they fell short because nothing can be as good as the original. Maybe if they hired on the Goku's artist then Crono could look a lot better from Crono Cross.

#3:Sora and Sion.
Wow, leave it to another company to rip off a character. I love Kingdom Hearts, but they obviously ripped Sora off from the awesomly Sion of The Bouncer. Have you played that game? The mindless amound of beat-em-up made for it to be the greatest fighting game ever.

Mayber the makers of Kingdom Hearts should take notes from The Bouncer.

That's all I have for now.

Obama Fox News Interview. Posted March 18th, 2010 in Politics

In a stroke of insanity Fox News was allowed to interview President Obama. In journalistic integrity Fox News sent their best anchor and had him calmly sit down and ask the president questions. They were hard hitting questions that the President needed to account for thus provided a very Fair and Balanced view on even the toughest questions.

Actually, I'm kidding, the interviewer was a tool.

Bier had a real chance her. He had a chance to act like a real interviewer. Instead he employed a attack style interview which obviously flustered the President. He interrupted the President many times and really didn't give him many chances to finish answering his questions. To top it all off his questions were mainly streamlined talking points instead of hard hitting questions.

It's a shame and a disapointment. Here is the President of the United States and here is Bier treating him like he's a second class political science professor. He interrupted him constantly and hardly gave him the chance to speak.

It was just a nightmare to watch.

Wrong, actually, the North Vietnamese and Vietcong lost almost every battle that was pitted against the United States.

Read your history and you'll find the great failure that was the Tet offensive. It was the long drawn out war and dwindling public support that made America lose. In actuality, in pure military strength, the United States could have crushed the Vietnamese army.

But, support in a Democracy is a precious commodity, and the US government ran dry.

I'm gonna go Marine Corps on this one due to faith and career choice

I am going to assume you have a boner for the Marines and obviously are giving into the hype of those retarded recruiting ads. You are 15, son, and have your whole life ahead of you before you think about the Marines.

Now, I'm not going to tell you to NOT join, but I am going to give you some perspective on what that whole shit storm is like.

First, you go to boot camp.

Boot Camp is 3 months of pure stress and physical stress. You spend most of your time getting your ass yelled at for being dicked up or getting quarterdecked (intensive exercises) for a good 30 minutes cause you dicked up. It's way too political and you yell at the top of your lungs all the time.

If you manage to finish that (most people will because Drill Instructors are stubborn) you get a brief 10 days leave and your happy ass is back doing training at SOI either doing MTC or ITB.

I dunno what MTC is like (I hear its the same as the first month of ITB), but SOI blows especially during the summer and if you'll have my luck you'll go to Camp Lejeune and sweat 30 pounds off because it's so fucking humid.

Then you'll get assigned to your unit where the real fun begins. You'll spend most of your mornings waking up to a 5:30 or 6:00 muster depending on the training day or if you are out in the field. If you are infantry you'll spend most of your time out in the field with (maybe) the weekend off. You'll probably spend your morning doing a PT before you tear into the day of shooting the same weapon you are going to be shooting over and over again. Believe it or not if you shoot the damn thing enough times you actually start to get annoyed that you are doing it. You'll think, "This shit?" and send rounds down range for most of the day.

Then you'll get to rip into those goddamned awesome MRE's that you'll probably ratfuck because nothing inside actually taste good except for the pop tarts and candy. If you are lucky you'll get an MRAT sent to you, but that just depends on how good your command is or if they care enough.

You won't get much sleep anymore so get used to that. You'll spend most of your days through prac ap and fighting off being sleepy. God forbid you actually fall asleep during a class especially when you are on a rage. You'll get an ass chewing for that.

Oh yeah, and if you are a Private to Lance Corporal start jerking off to the idea that you'll do working parties every fucking day. Working parties basically means that you do menial labor and/or sometimes demeaning. One time, I had to clean a fucking head because Marines felt the need to shit too much and throw their dip spit and clogged the fucker. Your recruiter never tells you about the working parties because I'm sure he puts focus on the Oorah and the KILL aspects of the Marine Corps.

If you are lucky at the end of that week you'll do we call a "hump". Which is putting a pack on your back and hiking anywhere from 3-25 miles. They will kick your ass. There is nothing fun about them. NOTHING. You carry heavy shit and walk at a fast pace. You are breathing hard, your feet are going to be shredded to shit at the end of it with huge blisters and your back feels like Michael Moore has been sitting on it the entire time with an elephant. You'll get 10 minute breaks every hour, but those are actually 5 minute breaks with the other 5 dedicated to getting that heavy pack back on.

I have never done a 25 mile hump and the max I ever did was 15 miles. That sucked ass on its own right and if I ever was told to do a 25 mile hump I'd probably tell the CO that I'd rather stick my dick in a blender.

No one in the Marine Corps likes the humps and the only people who pretend they do are the officers.

This is all the non-deployment shit. I can't personally tell you what it's like in combat and I can't even tell you stories from my unit because those guys didn't see any in Iraq. In fact no one was even hit with an IED it was that boring over there.

Now, if all of this sound appealing to you then by all means join. But I assure you that I haven't even scraped the surface of what the Marine Corps is like.

Tell that to people who like Heavy Rain.

Anyway, a good RPG has a combination of gameplay and story. If you have a shitty story that lasts for 40+ hours and decent gameplay then that kind of makes it a suffering experience. You are supposed to care about the characters and be motivated about whatever is going one with them to continue to play.

That's why I couldn't get into Dragon Quest VIII. It was an all right gameplay wise (back to the classics) but I had a hard time caring about the story which eventually made me give up all together.

It can also go the other way.

I really enjoyed the story of the third Star Ocean game, but I hated the gameplay mechanics. I eventually gave up because it frustrated me too much.

That's the plight of the modern RPG.

Lost Odyssey is another example (a game I'll come back to when my 360 doesn't want to be a dick) its really tough to get into the gameplay, but has a real amazing story.

If you are going for a Final Fantasy example then look no further than Final Fantasy VII. People loved the story and gameplay. Personally I find the story to be retarded and the gameplay simplistic, but people loved it because it had a great combination.

See where I'm going with this?

The Alcohol Topic. Posted March 9th, 2010 in General

This isn't the "YEAH MAN! Woo I drink beer! Look how awesome I am cause I drink beer," topic.

I'm an adult and I enjoy my weekends drinking some beer or liquor. I know some of you do too and there are even those (shame on you) underage who enjoy it as well.

I figure we can talk about beer, liquor, wine, etc and your experiences with them.

This can either include funny, albeit embarrassing stories, or just comments on what kind of alcohol you enjoy.

I don't really feel like posting a story and no one is actually required to, but I'll post an example.

Beer-Coors Light
This beer seems dedicated to those hillbillies who have slightly more money than those who drink Bud Light. Coors light tastes like absolutely nothing with an aftertaste of watered down beer. Which seems like a better taste than Bud Light, but really isn't. I find this mostly appropriate to drink out of a bottle and I limit myself mostly to 6 max as I have been known for my terrible lack of alcohol tolerance. 3 Beers in me and I'm dancing with the 6'4 255 pound lady with my pants off and promptly getting escorted outside of "The Flying Saucer" because as the owner said, "No one wants to see that."

All joking aside I enjoy this because I don't actually like the strong taste of beer and I can just drink it casually.

Liquor-Jagermiester
God, do I love Jager. Not Jager bombs like most frat boys seem to enjoy, but just plain straight Jager. I can drink the stuff straight, gasp, give an ugly face and ask for more. The only problem with Jager is that (for me) it doesn't get you drunk fast enough. SO, when I'm nearly done with the bottle I finally start feeling the full effects and it hits me like a drunk dump truck crashing into a Bus. The patrons of IHOP know this very well.

This is sort of how the topic goes. You can rate alcohol or you can talk about how you DON'T drink. This is the topic for it.

The game picks up a bit more but I'm starting to become depressed realizing that through every battle your best bet is to choose "Auto-Battle" instead of picking your actions individually. The game is so smart that it knows exactly what to do depending on what paradigm you choose.

Problem with that, am I really playing the game anymore? It looks pretty and all, but there obviously isn't any real reason for me to choose anything other than Auto-Battle. Your Paradigm Shift and AI pick up the slack on what actions you can take essentially turning this game into a better graphic version of Runescape only its not online.

That's right.

Square Enix made Final Fantasy Runescape edition.

Response to: Final Fantasy Xiii Launch Topic! Posted March 9th, 2010 in Video Games

Yeah, but it really isn't muddled down as much as that system.

To me it seems like you enjoy classic FF more than the new stuff. Which is fine because this won't be your game then. From what I can tell you just aren't going to enjoy it.

Anyway, with the inclusion of that battle system you have what is called a "Paradigm Shift" this changes the focus of all the characters from doing specific jobs. For example, you can have a shift to Commando, Sentinal and Medic.

Your Commando focuses more on basic combat move, Sentinal focuses on defense, counter-attacks and drawing the enemy to him/her and the medic focuses on healing.

There is also Ravager (focuses on chain attacks and magic abilities), Synergist (someone who focuses mostly on raising status of party members) and Saboteur (someone who focuses on sapping enemies via status ailments or other kind of ways).

It's easy to switch between which combo you want in middle of battle as each one has different needs. You can also create your own shifts if you wish to do so.

Also, every character can level up (via the Crystal leveling system) their Paradigm, but it's capped for every chapter until the middle of the game. This means that once you reach a certain point in a chapter you'll have to wait until the next one until you can level up. This may cause some frustration for those grind whores who enjoy leveling up each character.

The story, so far, is solid and I haven't found any complaints.

If you want to make comparisons to Final Fantasy X-2 then this game is NOT that. I'm sure they took elements from that, but they nixed the chaotic elements in favor of something simple, fast and fun.

Scratch that. The main characters are actually really good and have great voice actors. The story isn't bad.

Tidus!

Vanille! Seriously, she is really fucking annoying.

Not even any going around doing random things in the world to get legendary items? :(

As far as I know...no...

That sucks, I like the same inital static part like Midgar, I think FF8 could have done with a little more before going outside to get Ifrit etc, but 25 hours is stupidly long.

People are telling me its 6 to 7 hours now (not including cut scenes)

Hmm that sounds like personal taste rather than a truth, also depends what you are after at the time. the normal combat of the 1-9 was a good style, I find it much more enjoyable than the FF12 style though the FF12 style was incredibly fun and flowing in its own way which I loved.

You are right about personal tastes. However, it is quite interesting. I've had a lot of fun with it. They have turned the battles more into fast and chaotic like most battles are while still keeping some elements of FF in it. Every character but your main one act on their own. So some people may have a problem not having full control, but I've been pretty okay with it.

The combat system is essentially an ATB. You wait for it to fill up and you add different commands for your main character to carry out which they do. So they can attack, cast fire and then attack again whilst one of your AI characters attack the monster you are hitting. It's actually pretty fun.

Hope it has an overworld.

Better remove that pipe dream. The overworld is gone in all Final Fantasy games. Not that I didn't think they were fun in the others, but they have no place in the new generation of gaming. It would seem low budget and tacky. So, no, there is no overworld. Ever again. You can either accept what it is now or just stop playing FF games.

Personally I think the change is great because it immerses you more compared to other FF games.

How does this work then. Personally I found FF2 leveling system fun, and the FF5 job system was fun to added to the normal leveling system of the later ones.

Somewhat similar to FFX sphere system and it seems like you hate that game so...

Are you serious? What are they going to do to FF11 they cant just end it and having 2 up at once...

It's not entirely accurate, get over it.

Now, I've already read a few reviews that already came out for the game and the consensus say that...

You'll probably like the game, but be prepared to be underwhelmed. (Minor Spoilers Below)

Things that I hear is wrong with the game:
-The most linear Final Fantasy to date
-Decent story, but a lot of the characters are bleh
-One of the main characters are annoying as hell.
-No mini-games, puzzles or anything extra that EVERY Final Fantasy game has. Just story and monsters.
-It takes about 25 hours of gameplay before you can explore on your own.

Things that I hear are good:
-Combat is the most fun in a Final Fantasy game to date
-When the game stops being linear (about 25 hours in) you get the chance to free roam
-Lightning is considered to be a cool main character
-The level up system is considered to be interesting
-Summon's are actually fun to use in this Final Fantasy game.

I know what to expect now so I don't go into this with too high expectations.
