On a side note. How would you feel if it was a judge who owned shares in a Democratic Political firm that campaigned for the healthcare bill and he ruled it constitutional.

You opinions of the matter don't matter if you find it to be wrong. The point of the matter is the judge fucked up and you can't take two steps back from your own bullshit to realize that.

Listen, stop playing partisan bullshit. Really, it's really fucking annoying when you try to assume so. You want to know what I think about the constitutionality of the Health Care bill? I don't. That's because I honestly don't know if it is or not. There are compelling arguments on both sides so I'm just waiting for an obvious Supreme Court decision.

What you fail to realize that, YES, this judge should have disqualified himself from this case. No matter if its constitutional or not. He made a ruling while still having ownership in a firm that campaigned against the healthcare bill. It means not only does he have bias, but he has a conflict of interest due to the fact that he owns shares in a company that CAMPAIGNED AGAINST THE HEALTHCARE BILL. How are you NOT getting this? It means he's making a ruling on a case that he has interest to rule against. Judges have recused themselves from cases that even make them look like they have a conflict of interest.

Maybe you should wiki that shit next time so you don't irritate me with your condescending partisan hackery. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recusal

In fact the article says that his ruling had nothing to do with his ownership of that stock, but rather his ideological leanings. (I'll get to this in a moment.)

Furthermore, in looking at it the article doesn't really say that the firm directly opposed healthcare or was involved in the media campaign to defeat it. Instead, it appears that the firm worked with campaigns of individuals like Sarah Palin and Boehner. Because these individuals are in favor of repealing the bill it appears that the article makes the connection appear more solid than it is.

Then it's a conflict of interest.

Let me explain this to you.

There is a harassment and stalking case going on and someone suggest that you, as a judge, should rule over it. On your off hours you own shares to the company that the guy who is harassing and stalking a person. You recuse yourself because its a conflict of interest.

It doesn't matter if a judge has ideological leanings or not. Most do, but the purpose of being a judge is to ignore those and be an independent judiciary. There have been judges who recused themselves just because it looked like there may be a conflict of interest. What he did was wrong even if you agree with his ruling or not.

...Unconstitutional. I really only used the name "Obamacare" because its more recognized by everyone. A Virginian Federal judge, Judge Henry E. Hudson, today ruled that the individual-mandate clause in the Healthcare bill exceeds the power of Congress's under the Commerce Clause. I hate to cite Fox News, but it's pretty much legit.

http://nation.foxnews.com/health-care/20 10/12/13/federal-judge-rule-obamacare-to day

If the white house wants to (and they will) they can appeal the ruling and take it to an appeals court or the Supreme Court.

There seems to be one major flaw in this. This judge broke the rules. See, Judge Hudson owns a share in a GOP political consulting firm that worked against Healthcare. In case any of you are wondering what is so wrong with that it means the judge has a conflict of interest and should have considered judicial disqualification or recusal in this case. http://tpmlivewire.talkingpointsmemo.com /2010/12/judge-who-ruled-health-care-ref orm-unconstitutional-owns-piece-of-gop-c onsulting-firm.php?ref=fpblg

The Worst Short Story Ever. Posted December 4th, 2010 in General

I did not put this on the writing forum because I did not write this. Nor am I trying to hone my craft or ask for suggestions. No, I am simply providing this to you because I did not want this to be unseen.

Holy shit is this bad. I was trolling Yahoo Questions when I found this gem. It was flagged and removed but I was lucky enough to save it before it was erased from Internet existence. It ends abruptly, but I knew that if I let if float away with the wind that you will not be able to enjoy the content like I have. It has no title and I'm thinking of suggestions for the unofficial title.

I now give you...the WORST SHORT STORY EVER!

One day, a hot girl named Jessica was going on one heck of a ride. She was dressed in a short top and a small mini skirt with a bikini underneath. She was going to have sex with her trusted boyfriend. She flicked her tipped blonde hair behind her and walked to her boyfriend's house. She was "fully protected" from getting pregnant. He opened the door with a smile and let her in. What happened next was very unexpected. He grabbed her around the waist and threw her on the bed. She stifled a laugh as he sat on the other side of the king sized bed. "Who's starting?" she smiled. "You'll start honey. I want to see your moves" Derek, her boyfriend, grinned. Isabella quickly pulled off her shirt and mini skirt with a whistle from Derek. She got down to a crouching position, like a tiger waiting for its prey to move. Her curved body was very still as she moved silently. She got on top of him, her belly resting on his chest. He licked his lips and took her by surprise, jumping up. "You didn't think I'd let you start did you?" he watched her lay on the bed. He put her back on top of him and took of the top of her bikini. Her breasts spilled out and the bikini top fell to the floor. He reached for one and started drinking her milk. "Oh," moaned Isabella. "That feels.... good," she smiled. He laughed and stopped. His hand went down to her bikini bottom and he stripped her. He stripped himself and looked at her. She was on the bed with her eyes closed, taking in the feelings. He looked at her plump belly going up and down. It was very bloated, having she had drunk a lot of water lately. He pounced on top of it, pushing all the air out of Isabella. She gasped and his hand slowly pulled at her belly. "Ouch! Derek! Stop!" she squealed and tried to get up but his hand held her down. "Derek!" she screamed. "Been getting fat lately, huh?" he said at her astonishment. "Derek, I forgot to tell you! I'm on a new medication that makes my stomach swell for a week. It'll be over tomorrow," she sighed. "Then I'll weigh you. Medication doesn't make you put on weight," he brought out a scale. Isabella reluctantly stepped on it. "Fifty-five kilos! That's twenty more than last month! That's why you're so plump! Don't lie to me," he growled and put her back on the bed. "Oh Derek, I'm sorry. I've just been getting so fat lately!" she looked ashamed. Derek was on top of her. "Derek.... please get off... you're.. too heavy..." Isabella could hardly breathe. "Not as heavy as you," he rolled off her and lifted her onto him. Isabella was lifted up by her belly. "My weight is in my height," Derek smiled and rolled onto her again. "Please..." Isabella choked. "Do you know what I do to weight gaining girls? I do this" he took off her and his "protection" and started having sex. "Derek! Please! No! Stop!" Isabella tried to convince him. After it had been done, which seemed like ages to Isabella, he got off her. "Do you realize what you have just done? You have destroyed my life as a 18 year old. You have just destroyed my career. Now I am pregnant because of you!" she hit him. He grabbed her. "I know someone who can... remove the pregnancy. Dad!" Derek's Dad walked into the room. Obviously, he was used to having a pregnant naked girl in his son's room so he laughed. "Isabella... I'll take off that excess weight as well... you'll be better that way," Derek's Dad, Dr. Starr said. "Now," he brought out a sharp sleeping needle. "This won't hurt a bit. Son, secure her," Dr. Starr said. Everyone moved very quickly. Dr. Starr got the needle ready, Derek grabbed Isabella tightly and Isabella struggled. Dr. Starr inserted the needle into her right breast and she blacked out. "Wonderful," Derek said.

Isabella woke in her clothes and with her boyfriend staring at her. "You're mine, Isabella. We'll do that every day.. won't it be fun? We won't let you go, of course, because you shouldn't exist. We wiped all memory of you from the face of the earth with a USB cord and a iPod. Amazing, isn't it?" Derek smiled. "Please," she begged. "Let me go". "Sorry Isabella. But it's time to feed you," Derek had tied her to the bed. "Today, we will try to break the rope," he bared his now sharp looking teeth. "What the-" Isabella started to say but was interrupted as a long tube was inserted into her mouth. "Three, two, one," Derek said and at one mixed foods were poured into Isabella's mouth and were forced down her throat, making her tummy bulge. She grew and grew and by the time the tube star

Response to: In Criticism of Social Fraternities Posted November 17th, 2010 in Politics

The idea of not letting anyone join of color either stems from Alumni (the graduated members) flat out hating the idea and wont stand for it and the Members not being able to do anything about it to the members themselves flat out not wanting it. I remember having to go to this Rush event and this black guy came up to me to talk about the Fraternity. Already a rock sunk into my stomach because I knew I could not accept him. Not because I don't like him but because no one would accept him. He seemed really interested and was a nice enough guy, but the end result was to pretend like I was interested to have him, but never give him a call if he decides to drop his number down. It was also official policy to pick an choose guys who we thought were "worthy". Anyone who dressed differently, had long hair, looked like a stoner or just did not fit the mold of what is considered a straight laced member was not wanted. Not to mention you never bothered to talk to black people. They were an absolute no-go for recruitment.

What I hate the most about joining this thing is I compromised my principals in looking for friendship. I sold a part of myself on this idea of "brotherhood" and "friendship". Instead I got neither and left with a sour pit in my soul and a lesson learned. You join Fraternities if you want to slap down some of your money, many of college students don't have enough as it is, for the idea of friendship. The idea that there is going to be someone there who will do anything for you. What I got out of it was that people were too busy to be your friend right now, but willing to party that night. Black people are still seen as they were in the 60's. You have to pay money to an organization that runs the thing and the major goal above all else is to get new members.

So, if you go to college then this is what it's like. I haven't even bothered scratching the surface of it all and haven't gone into much detail about what I experienced because that wasn't the point. The point is that the Fraternity system is a dead one. You don't need to them to have friends. The only return you get from it is some silly secret they have been hiding the entire time and a few nights of drinking here or there. You can get that anywhere else and I assure you some groups on campus doesn't even require you to pay dues to do it. So I suggest to you...find a club that holds your interest, join it and make friends. Make college your experience and not one that is run by a system of outdated ideas and forced friendship. Make it yours.

I assure you that if you join a Fraternity you won't get anything out of what they tell you it is.

In Criticism of Social Fraternities Posted November 17th, 2010 in Politics

This is long by the way.

In 2007 I began my adventure of joining a social fraternity. As of 2010 I realize it was the biggest mistake I ever made in my life in terms of college. There are a few other mistakes many of which are of my own (grades and such) and I accept them as my own. However, joining a social fraternity happened to be one of the biggest mistakes I've made in terms of going to college.

I wont say which one I joined nor will I say any of the secret rituals that take place within the one that I joined. Not out of any loyalty to the brand, but rather I just don't want a hell storm of angry people flooding me with threats because I gave away their arbitrary masonic ritual online. Besides, I really don't have to. If you are a college student and know of a fraternity on your campus all your really need to do is use a Google search and type, for example, "Pi Kappa Alpha secrets" and there will be some website out there that tells you. So if you are really interested Google is your go-to tool.

When I started my pledge-ship in my fraternity I was excited. Being an introvert for most of my life I took the chance to try to break out of my shell and meet new people. They seemed great, friendly and a fun loving bunch of people. At the time I was really focused on my school work and getting ahead in life. So I figured a Fraternity was also the way to go. After I was initiated I pretty much figured out the way that those guys act around what is called "Rushes" is kind of a marketing ploy. When you go around recruiting people to join that fraternity what you are really doing is selling a product. That product is friendship. Like a car salesman or a military recruiter they manipulate you into thinking that its going to be worth joining. All fraternities do this to be honest and it's not from my experience. Some do it well and others suck at it. The more people you get to pledge the better brother you are. It's like a quota and instead of monetary gain you get respect. The more people you get in the more respect you get. That's not to say anyone will like you personally it just means you'll get respect.

The Fraternities want to give you this sense of belonging as you go through your pledge-ship. As you become a pledge they get you to accept everything in what is seen as probably a kinder military type tactic. That being: breaking someone down and building them back up who they want them to be. In a sense it's a form of minor brainwashing that incoming freshmen fall for. Constantly telling them to "love the brotherhood" and "we are all one" is one such tactic that is unknowingly passed down from brother to brother. Another is the threat to kick them out of the order as punishment for wrong doing. In general hindsight if someone is kicked out they should be able to say, "Well, thanks for the chance, but I'll see you guys later," or something to that degree. However, I've seen guys literally get devastated by being kicked out. Not only do they use this threat, but many of them intentionally recruit one or two guys who they KNOW that they do not like and aren't going to make it. Just to kick them out in the middle of the pledge-ship just to show the other guys that this is possible.

Now, I know people are also going to wonder about hazing. To be honest it varies from Fraternity to Fraternity. Some are very minor about it while others make it their entire process. To give these new guys shit and make them think that its something everyone has to go through to be accepted. Something that supposedly builds the bond of brotherhood. In all honesty they may think that but the members take a degree of pleasure in doing these acts of hazing on pledges. They think up of new games, laugh about it and degrade them in humiliating ways. I was lucky to get a minor form of hazing to be honest. While I've seen guys from other Fraternities get hazing challenges such as asking their name and they have to respond, "Hello my name is Tom. My dick taste like strawberries just ask my brother." He would have to say that every time because that was a command by the members of the house. You have to follow orders or you aren't going to be a very good brother.

Once I became a member I had to go through an odd ritual to join. Seen more as a tradition I didn't know what to expect and by the time it was over I was a member. We learned all of the secrets and went on through our lives as a Brother of that Fraternity. To me, at the time, I thought that meant friendship. Truth be told I went through the pledge-ship not being respected or liked to the time as a brother not being respected or liked. I like to consider myself as generally nice and not annoying, but I'm not a typical type of person who joins these types of groups. I'm more of a laid back, video game playing nerd who may have a few odd qualities compared to what is considered "normal". While I just joined a group that mainly comprised of people I WANTED to get away from while I was in high school. I.E. the outgoing guys who don't give two damns what they say, what they do and have matured despite the fact that their about to turn 25 and dick and gay jokes are still funny. I wasn't the only one who experienced this too as there were others who went through this and left under the whole idea of "Fuck this bullshit." It took me a lot longer than that.

Then there is the money. Each Fraternity out there requires dues to be able to join. You must pay as a pledge and as a brother. Either its to the headquarters of the whole fraternity to paying to keep up water and electric in the house you still have to pay. Now I can understand needing to pay for the utilities, but headquarters of all Fraternities require dues. Like any club there must be some sort of return for this. The real return in all of this is the illusion of friendship. Maybe people really did make friends when they joined, but is that venue really required to make friends? Is $35, $50, $95, $150 to $2,000 a month really worth making new friends when there are many clubs and activity groups on campus that can not only hold your interest, but help make friends in? Is it worth it? I say no because the Fraternity system is no longer interested in helping you build bonds or "become a better man" what it is is a business. The business they run in is getting money from college students. It's like a pyramid scheme of the oldest order. Get 25 guys in and you can become a chapter. Get 50 guys in and you'll get a reduction in dues. Get 100 guys in and we'll build a house for you. It goes on like this so on and so forth. Not only that, but they are also interested in expanding, like a business. Popping up in new colleges so they can get more numbers and more money. All for the illustrious idea of building friendship.

The worst part for me is the segregation. I'm not sure about anywhere else, but the fraternity system in the south is still heavily segregated. There is just "Fraternities" and "Black Fraternities" and that's it. The sad part is when I joined I started to find out just how racist the whole group turned out to be. I even gauged how far their racism went. Anywhere from idiotic bigot to flat out near skin head. Some of the most idiotic comments I would hear is, "I don't hate black people...I just hate ni***rs. Two entirely different people." As if to say that anyone who acts "Hood" is automatically a "Ni***r" but anyone acts calm and speaks plainly is Black, but even then they weren't even considered on the same level of their white counterpart in this fraternity. It wasn't just mine either. Every one in the south pretty much follows this policy and it's an old and dumb one.

To be continued....

The reason why I liked it is because everything was unknown. Slight movement, something to build up the tension, footprints or just general bangs, etc. were enough to throw me into a total creeped out factor.

Modern horror movies as you know them are absolute shit. None of them were good. NONE OF THEM. Then along comes Paranormal Activity who decides to do something different with the genre. It doesn't let you see what's there. The fear of the unknown is quite possibly the biggest fear of all and the movie did it really well. By all means it's not bad, but it just doesn't live up to the first film. The ending was also abrupt as hell and left people in the theater going, "That's it?"

Response to: Official Fallout: New Vegas Thread. Posted October 21st, 2010 in Video Games

Okay, I'm just gonna come out and say it.

This game isn't that great.

Wanna know why?

First, it feels kind of like an expansion from Fallout 3 only serving major problems Fallout 3 did not have. I'll get to that in a minute.

Whats good:
The overall feel of the landscape is better than I thought and the mini-games turned out to be more fun than I thought they would be. The new weapons and additions to the various little things you can do to advance your character is just awesome. You can recruit people to fight with you and them being around serves a better purpose than in Fallout 3. The side quests are long and very nice. Characters are fairly interesting even if they are minor and have a pretty good impact no matter what you do. I feel like I can really do anything in this game no matter what choice I make and I love the faction system. Everything feels a little more streamlined compared to Fallout 3 and things you wish were in the last game are in this.

Bad:
HOLY FUCKING SHIT is this game buggy up the ass. Seriously, I don't know how you guys are faring on your copies, but I'm noticing the bugs and some people I talked to have noticed the game be buggy as hell too. One of the major problems I'm having with the game is that it's crashing. Fuck ton. If I notice it start to slow down or glitch out on me I know I'm about to crash the game (PS3 version). Also, AI and other NPC's do some random shit like walking into walls, circles, just standing there for no reason as I'm shooting them, enemy pops out of nowhere, body parts appeared out of nowhere, body part end up doing this weird foot dance inside of a wall, more crashing, major character didn't appear for a long time until I just kept leaving and coming back, and too much more to count.

What the fuck? This product was so unfinished. This is fucking unacceptable. I enjoy the game, but all this shit is really taking away the experience for me. Out of all the things I love about this game I found this one major problem just shits it all out the window. How could they NOT fix this shit before it ships? I'm fine waiting longer for a game as long as its a finished product. Yeah, they rushed it. Obviously they are going to patch it, but I'm almost done with it as it is and what's the point anymore? A second playthrough? Too little too late and I spent $60 on an unfinished product.

I know there are some of you who probably didn't get these glitches much, argue its because I have a PS3 version or just ignored it enough to enjoy the game, but I have these. I fucking hate it and its fucking unacceptable.
