On the subject of "nobody in my school likes good music" it really does piss me off. Pretty much every metal stereotype pisses me off, but here are some of the worst.
1. "It's not singing because you can't hear what the singer is saying" Well, if you clean all of the bullshit out of your ears, you can hear what they're saying.
2. People who don't get the difference between screaming and grunting/growling. Death metal is not "all screaming" If some guy just started stabbing you, would you death grunt or scream? There's a huge difference there.
3. Metal is "scary" this can either stem from a few things. a. Grunting and related singing styles that don't sound like a whiny prepubescent emo. b. Instrumentals that aren't just the same beat played over and over again (another thing i hate is how people don't know the difference between a beat and a riff) or c. the lyrical themes, just because the song isn't about how much you love your girlfriend or some love song garbage doesn't mean it's scary.
