well once you've done your search you should have a list of audio that fits your search criteria, select one from the list, you'll then be taken to page that'll be playing that sound file,

In your browser go to "File" and "save as", or "save page as" something like that

That should sort it out for you

I was just hoping someone could advise on a genre to choose! for one particular track I submitted, as it was an experimental track with rock elements and electronica

I Play Guitar, Keyboard/Piano and have now successfully mastered (I think) drum programming in FL, a possible good example of the drum skillz i speak of can be heard in my "Drown in the fountain of Youth" track, tho i would advise to not listen to Apocalypse on the Horizon 1, instead listen to version 2. and don't listen to "My Upcoming Demo" either (unless you really want to listen to, as it's rly short and not much to that one) well, judge for yourself

Lol I'm telling you what not listen to, doesn't leave you with a hell of a lot, so it shouldn't take you long to pick out my style(s)

I'd love to try and help you but you're not really explaining it too clearly!

I'll try and take a wild stab at it, either you've got a file that is zipped and you would like to unzip it, if this is the case you may want to go here > Winzip
or you're trying to zip a wav file you have if that's the case follow that link, for a copy of winzip

or you have a file that is a wav and you want to upload to the portal, but you've realised that you can't upload a wav file, so you want to convert it to an mp3, I'm guessing, as you mention something about audio convertor, if this is the case you'll be wanting somf software that wil convert from wav to mp3, I would recommend a program called "CDex" which is free and you can find it here > CDex in case that link didn't work which is a direct link to the file >

well I must confess I too have fallen into this trap, well I mean to say I've uploaded a piece that is most definitely electronica, but the option from the drop down list wasn't available so I (and i'm guessing other too) have submitted as techno

In all honesty, though this track is kinda experimental, and well I was wondering if you guys could help me with a little something, as you all seem pretty clued up. and well i'm sure it wouldn't hurt to get an opinion from you guys.

I normally do rock oriented music, and experiment from time to time

I can refer to any advice you give me now, for future submissions I may make that are of a similar style to this one in particular

I just can't get over what that chunkylover has said about the modern hip hop, well ok let me just clarify, He's entitled to his opinion, but to go about it in the way he has, isn't gonna do good for anyone.

Look chunky, fine, fair enough, you hate the Modern Hip-Hop, thats's being submitted, I don't have a problem with you hating it, but instead of coming to hear to fire off at the mouth about it, is helping no one!

Instead why don't you use the review options available, and tell the authors what you think, but for god sake, tone your reviews down a little, instead, just tell them what it is exactly you dislike about it, what possible improvements they can make to it, etc..., just then maybe, you may find that the stuff being submitted, may start to improve

But man, ok I gotta admit some of it is rubbish, but you can't tar them all with the same brush, and I'm sure some of them just need a gentle push in the right direction, and some of them might have spent a fair bit of time on their creations, sotake that into consideration Man

well that's my 2 cents worth

yeah i gotta agree with you on that, it would cause unneccesary hate in the newgrounds arena. i think there have been some good suggestions about how to tackle the 0 voters problem, all we need is for the Fulps to dip in a read some of the great suggestions.

so guys what did yo uthink about the Miscellaneous option I suggested above? I mean do any of you agree that it should perhaps be dealt with?

cos it's unlikely anyone wanting to use audio for their flash, will want to dip into the Misc category, it's just too vast

Okay Guys, I noticed this thread, and have taken the time to read everything all of you have said, a lot of you have made some awesome suggestions, I like the idea that some guy mentioned about halfway through (sorry dude I forgot your name) about the idea on adapting the search so that you can filter through tracks of a varying size, which would easily help you find a suitable loop or full length track. aswell as incorporating the other variables which are logged, but not used, such as platinum/gold status etc...

Okay another point that I would like to make, that another one of you very briefly touched on (again sorry i forgot your name too)

relating to the miscellaneous category. but I can't remember what you said about it, but I feel some changes need to be done about it, as stated below!

well as you all know, there is absolutely tons of audio in there, which is offputting for anybody wanting to look for audio. no one wants to have to look through all of that, to hear all of it just to find a suitable track for their potential flash submission

well in relation to that I would like to suggest that, in the review of the audio (somewhere) I think reviewees should be able to decide what genre they feel, any particular track, in the misc category, fits into, I feel it should be mandatory too. based on the numbers of people voting for a particular genre to fit that piece into. that would, based on votes, shift those tracks into their rightful categories. hopefully over time, eradicating the need for that Misc category.

I know myself, from one of the submissions I've made. that it's hard to choose which genre it fits into, I would have the trouble of deciding between a few options, so Misc seems to be the easy way out.

To elaborate a little more, maybe the Authors could choose more than one category that they feel their tracks fit into (by way of genre), and then the reviewees could pick one of the Authors genre choices, and again over many reviews, the problem of the misc category could be solved

I see the Misc category as a kind of "purgatory" whilst the decision is being made to decide which genre it truly fits into

What do you guys think about this? maybe you could help take this a little step further with some suggestions too!!!

Well you KNOW we have the adv thread for that stuff if youve been lurking :) othervice a good advice is to review alot yourself, review some of the regulars around here (and youll find it you´ll be accepted into the ommunity alot faster :). Be critical and helpfull yourself when reviewing and youll gain respect.
I´d go check ur stuff myslf, but im on dial up right now, at my parents, and to be honest i have little time checking out new music in general. also i have no internet at home yet :(

Based on one of the reviews I've had for my "An Upcoming Demo"
someone pointed out (sorry I can't recall the name at the minute) that they notice a buzzing sound, which I noticed myself. Which I think is from my guitar pickups, But I can't be absolutely certain of.

Just wondering if any of you have had annoying buzzing sounds at any point, and if so what's the best remedy for them?

Just a few pointers on this would be really helpful as I really want to have a clean sound on the finished piece

not sure if you'll need to know about the equipment I'm using in order to ascertain just exactly what the cause might be

Well was wondering if any of you audio creators, a.k.a. Musicians, not only create music, but do any of you create flash too?
