I just got into Fist of the North Star. Old, I know...but it's pretty crazy. Also been watching a lot of Yakitate Japan lately, good shit...and Hajime no Ippo is a still a great series (if you haven't seen it yet).

Also, check out G.T.O. and Black Lagoon. I watched the whole series of both...I can't say they're amazing, but I can see how other people really love em'. Same for Air Gear and Claymore - they weren't bad, but again, you might really enjoy them. That covers my recent list.

Sorry for not writing paragraphs of explanations. Just pull up the first few episodes of ANY series, and you won't need to take advice and opinions from people...or, go the easier route and Google up some titles to see if the show might interest you. One person might think a series is awesome because [reason]...but then you watch it and find yourself wasting your time on worthless garbage. Opinions are fun.
