Anyways, yeah...I actually enjoyed the first episode or 2. Halfway through episode 5 or so I had completely lost interest, and stopped forcing myself to watch it while digging for reasons to enjoy it. It's a stale series. The first few episodes are alright, but it rapidly gets bad, quick. These guys couldn't write a story to save their lives, and are completely incapable of developing decent characters. Yet another Anime series to add to the timber pile. Totally can't stand up to the original movie.

The artwork is pretty decent though, so I'll give it that. Good soundtrack, too. Although, everyone I know with more than [adult swim] Anime under their belts gave it up before episode 5. Most of Newgrounds should adore it, though...as I'm already assuming a great deal of you already developed a deep emotional attachment to the main character, love the violence, and sit in giddy anticipation as brief nudity may happen at ANY TIME. I'm also assuming most people will enjoy it as they've still got Inuyasha flowing through their veins, and this new series is practically hardcore.

This brand of Anime is getting very tiresome. The beautiful, long-haired mysterious man with a brooding past, the adorably vulnerable yet powerful leading lady, the pretentious love and lust undertones...it's played out, and BLOOD+ is a perfect example of formula Anime with no heart, and loaded with all the gimmicks that pre-teens adore. I feel like most people don't really like it, they just watch it because it's Anime, and 'anything Anime is good'. When it's all we have, it's all we'll end up watching...leading production companies to think as if this shit is popular, thereby allowing them to continue making it the same way.

Lately, it seems as if only 1 out of 5 series I check out has potential, and only 1 out of 20 is a must-see. Let me know when they release something decent. (And by they, I mean Japan, and not the poser-ass network that most people consider Anime central, failing to realize the world of Anime extends far past Trigun and whatever the fuck else they're bleeding dry right now.)
