No I am sure he is capable, it is an easy job to code.

The problem I have is that I don't want to work with him. I gave him a look at it in hopes of getting something pumped out fast but he was arrogant about it so I decided against perusing it.

I am currently in need for someone to program up a game I have essentially completed the graphics for. I did have someone lined up to do the job 4 months ago but due to a variety of reasons they never began work on it. The reason I am not coding this up myself is because I have to program in university so it feels more like work than a hobby.

The game is a front mission style turn based mech fighting simulation. I have the .fla ready to go for coding though as it stands, if coded, as is it wouldn't be very efficient. I have been using flash MX2004 when making it so the sending of files will likely to only be in one direction. I also have a comprehensive description of everything I want to happen in each part so there is no uncertainty.

What I am offering is a 50/50 split of whatever income is made from this game. I would prefer someone with a bit of experience and enough of a reputation to be trusted with the complete set of graphics.

Read the instructions that come with it. Usually you just have to copy paste the preloader movieclip on the first frame of your movie.

I think what this guy is after isn't a serious game, just a few minigames that should take a day to make at max. No need to start getting greedy with the prospect of paid work when you have no proof you deserve the big money for your work.

Hit test multiple points on the body of your enemy?

You can only open flas that have been saved as a version equal to or less than the one you are running. To be able to access it you are going to have to get someone that can actually open it to save it as an older version.

No wonder I couldn't get it to work when I tried to test it out about a month ago.

Some good effects that are always useful are fire and explosions.

You occasionally get questions on it but usually people just attack it with gradients and make a mess. There are some good tutorials out there on both in terms of actionscripting it and animation, but more can't hurt.

Easiest thing you can do is use one of these and manipulate it if you want a custom one.

The easiest thing you could do is stream the sound in a movieclip and put said movieclip on the stage with its own layer. From there you can control the playing of it through some simple lines of code. What the code actually is depends on the version of actionscript you are using and exactly how you want it to play out.

From that I have beaten them all except for the first 4 on the list but have gotten to the final areas and stopped playing because I wanted to do the rest of the side quests but lost motivation. Favourite out of them all is VIII.

The whole point is to entice you into going back to the sponsor website where you can get hit by all their ads. These games are usually almost complete and it costs you nothing to play the full version. Games of this nature can usally get the developers a few extra bucks and in turn make them aspire to increase the content.

It's a free game, get over it.

Set the sounds sync properties to stream and make sure it has its own layer.

Actually, I've never been in a serious drunken fight before, been close many times though.

Once when I was walking to the nightriders with a mate after a night of clubbing and vodka I acciendently hit shoulders with this guy who was in a small group of guys. He turned to his friends and asked them if he should hit me so I just offered out my hand and told him I was sorry and that I was off my tits. He laughed, shook my hand and offered to sell me drugs. It's interesting how easy it is to go from nearly trading blows to shaking hands and laughing when alcohol is invloved.

They are temp files so its possible that they could have been deleted after a while but to be sure run a search and make sure you can view hidden files.

Have a read of the text files it mentions to see if you can gather something from that.

Other than that, it could be a memory issue which having vista, doesn't help. If you have read the text files and they are still no help, then make sure when trying to run the programs you close everything in the background.

I got that yesterday as well. I didn't really know if I wanted the glittery psp, but it was cheaper to get the pack than buy the game and a psp seperate. What I don't understand though is that they don't include a memory stick. Who has ever played a final fantasy without saving. I'm enjoying the game so far though.

EB however, is a load of shit. I saw they were advertising that you could trade in your old PS2 and 16 games and then you can buy a PS3 for roughly 500$. Anyone who goes for that deserves to be ripped off.

My worst night was getting smashed on way into the city then ending up 'falling sleep' in the toilets of a nightclub, only to be awoken by a pot glass flying over the door of the stall and hitting me in the head. At which point i stumbled out of the bathroom and made my way down the stairs, running into a wall each time it turned a corner. As soon as I got out the front i jumped in the first taxi I saw, which was conviently sitting right out front. Then on the way home I had to open the door a few times when we stopped at traffic lights to munt. Next day was Easter with the extended family which was death.

I had friends at the club with me, but I was that far gone I didn't think about them when I bailed.

But did I give up? Hell no, just had to be more carefull with the amount of spirits I thow down my throat. Actually, that mentality only lasted for about a week.

This really is too easy.

You can't go from nothing to flash game instantly. You have to learn the program first then make some decisions: are you going to program it, do the graphics, both?

A good place to start would be to actually read the forum sticky.

Its a gradual learning process. For graphics you have to develop a style and learn how to animate it, for coding you need to learn the language and its syntax.
