In a world where companies put one or two movies or games on each disk, that space is kinda wasted.

But it opens the market up to having a series of movies "Saw Series" all on one disc and able to play all of them off of that one disc.

And for games you could easily make a long game with a lot of features in it. Or add a series of games on it which could all be playable on the disc. (Metal Gear Games)

A blu-ray disc holds 25 or 50 GB depending on what you get.
