Just because you don't think a game should be on the list doesn't mean it shouldn't be on the list. Maybe other people liked it.

If it was up to the people, CoD: MW or MW2 would be #1...

I support this list until we get to CoD: MW at position 14.

I don't even know how that missed the GI editors, it was RIGHT IN BETWEEN LEGENDS LIKE SUPER MARIO 64 AND FINAL FANTASY VII!

Whoever's in charge of that should get shot for fucking up a good list.
Also, a few that I'm happy about:

59. Adventure (2600, 1980) FUCK YES
71. Age of Empires (PC, 1997) I'm surprised that the sequel didn't make it, to be honest
78. Command & Conquer (PC, 1995) The First True RTS.
115. Command & Conquer: Red Alert (PC, 1996) Sequel to C&C
116. Advance Wars (GBA, 2001) Handheld Turn Based Strategy was invented with this game.
86. Super Smash Bros. Melee (GameCube, 2001) Yeah!
32. GoldenEye 007 (N64, 1997) FPS That Should've Been Over CoD: MW, MW didn't even deserve a spot.
98. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (PS3/360, 2009) Lol at Year of Release fail.
85. Metroid Prime (GameCube, 2002) FPS perfection on the Gamecube, truly a gem.
92. Medal of Honor: Allied Assault (PC, 2002) Still wastes my days during my Summers in Egypt.
52. Pac-Man (Coin-op, 1980) Self explanatory, should've been higher.
53. Battlefield 2 (PC, 2005) Surprised it was this high, but good to know nevertheless.

Playing the same damn RPG's and FPS's?

Every time I look at the sales charts for the new Halo, Final Fantasy, or CoD game I want to scream.
And now, I am going to.

SERIOUSLY, WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU GUYS. You've been playing as the same damn giant sword wielding spiky haired bastards for the last 5000 fucking years. They all look exactly the same, all the games play exactly the same, there's barely anything new that's noticable to the formula at all. You've fought the same evil lord <insert japanese name here> about 999 times already. How many times do you want to actually save the fictional kingdom of <insert genericly stupid name here?> For crying out loud, and the games are ridiculously long too, the new FF is going to have 2 OR MORE DISKS! 2 OR MORE FUCKING DISKS! That's ridiculously long. While you guys could be playing some games actually worth your time you're instead playing a predictable story with a predictable end filled with predictable "surprise twists" and predictable characters.

Now, time to snipe at FPS's. Since the dawn of time, FPS's have either been about 3 things: Space, WW2, or Modern Warfare. WHY THE FUCK DO YOU STILL PLAY IT THEN? I mean, how many times can you read the same generic story about aliens wtf pwning us all and you being the last hope and crap? How many snipers, sub machine guns, pistols, grenades, shotguns, and rocket launchers can you fire before they all start feeling the same? How many "new" game modes such as capture/defuse object A, CTF, or <insert weapon here> only matches can you see and play before they get unoriginal? How many times can you storm Normandy, blow up a space ship, hijack a boat, clean out a city, or annihilate a Middle Eastern town before it all feels the same? Less then 1,000 times, according to you guys, since you've been doing it all since the dawn of time, getting milked endlessly for ages.

Have Fun with your stupidity, you might never get to experience such fun as Attack of the 50ft Robot or other actually original games.

EA may be corrupt, but their game companies are good guys who know what good games are. Dead space was good, Battlefield in general is good, Command and Conquer is still good, The Sabateur looks to be epic, you need to understand, the actions of a parent company doesn't reflect the studios that work for it, I mean, that you shouldn't judge Visceral Games and call it a money eating monstrosity just because EA is.

And for crying out loud, stop glorifying Activision Blizzard, it's the merging of two companies that were acting and trying to be like EA before, and are EA now. Seriously, Blizzard are those guys who are now going to implement pay for content items and clothes in WoW, and Activision are those guys who are currently milking the shit out of you guys through CoD, and together, they form into a company that charged you $70 for a $60 game (MW2) and are probably going to do that for the rest of time.

I'd rather have EA take over everything then Activision Blizzard take over everything.

- Good with Water Squirters
- Also good at beating up giant gorillas.
- Sounds ridiculously italian.
- Whines a lot when hurt, but brave.

Luigi:
- Faster and better at jumping.
- Wears Green
- Shoots fireballs that ignore physics (SSB)
- Good with vacume cleaners
- Also good at getting rid of ghosts.
- Sounds hispanic
- Is afraid of ghosts and shivers a lot, but brave.

First off, a Teen rated game can't possibly be targeted towards eleven year olds, since they can't play it.

Second off, the point of Smash Bros is to answer all those "what if" and "who would win in a fight" questions.

Third off, Smash bros is fun, no denying that, fun has no age.

Fourth off, the majority of people who play Smash Bros are above 13.

Last off, get the fuck off this site, you're too stupid to remain on it.

Heaven forbid I actually think about my own interests when talking about my personal take on the issue. If we're only allowed to speak for the masses, then the whole concept of a forum is totally irrelevant.

There you are going and throwing your BS around, I'm just saying, just because you don't like a genre, doesn't mean it should be annihilated.

That doesn't mean they can't make a comeback.
Yeah, maybe they'll get it under control; I suspect some of their jobs depend on it.

No shits, and some people are out of the job ALREADY, EALA is going to get its entire RTS segment kicked as soon as they release C&C4.

Like I said, you're selfish.
Yes, I care more about my video game tastes than others'. I clearly have no moral fiber and should be shot twice.

Ok, Selfish wasn't the right word, just saying, start caring about other people, you know, this goes outside the game realm and into the real world, since these guys ACTUALLY HAVE LIVES THAT DEPEND ON THEIR JOB.

You'd rather have more money (that probably won't be) poured into companies that like to shove out Racing games and generic sci-fi and fantasy RPG's out their asses then let creative minds like Will Wright do what they do, give a new IP a chance, and let a legendary (and the oldest) RTS series live on?
Yes, lets insult the developers at EA who are actually good.

And you didn't insult the others?

I don't know where you got the idea that Command and Conquer was the oldest RTS series; Warcraft came out a year before, and there were plenty of other RTS games that came out before both.

Oh wow, you're an idiot, it's widely considered that Dune II is somewhat part of the C&C series, since they were both made by the same guys, and the original concept of C&C was "Dune II in a different setting, since we can't secure the rights to it." Basically, replace spices with Tiberium, the three houses with Nod and GDI, and whatever the name of the planet they're on with Earth, and there you have it.
Also, btw, Warcraft was always a copy of C&C, for crying out loud, Warcraft 1 played exactly like Dune II minus the awesome, Warcraft 2 played exactly like C&C and RA1 minus the even more awesome, and Starcraft was created as a direct challenger to Tiberian Sun, hence the Sci-Fi theme.

Now that Command and Conquer lacks the historical significance that you thought it had,

It actually does have the significance I think and know it has.

I think it's fairly agreeable that the series and developer should have been axed a long time ago.

And a company that can only shit out ridiculously generic Sci-Fi RPG's and shitty attempts at making Sonic cool again shouldn't have?

I'm only voicing the obvious opinion of the masses though;

What obvious opinions of the masses?
Were you elected by the people? No.
Did EA hire you? No.
Does anyone actually support your obvious lack of knowledge on this subject? No.

it's what everyone wants. My own and your interests on the matter are entirely impertinent.

There's that "everyone" again.

By the way, Will Wright left Maxis earlier this year. His brilliant mind can no longer 'do what it does' for EA. This explains why Maxis had to be purged as well. Again, totally the voice of the collective, not my own.

Voice of the collective?
I've yet to meet a single person that says Maxis should be destroyed, yes, it's true that right now all they're making are Spore spinoffs, but until Spore, all they were making were Sims Expansions, that's how Maxis works, you know.

Not especially. The Sabateur might be cool, but Pandemic has been 0 for 2 this generation.

That doesn't mean they can't make a comeback.

These guys are CERTAINLY better then Playfish, I mean, seriously, PLAYFISH?
Not in terms of profitability. I'd rather EA make money from Playfish and dump the resources into BioWare, Criterion, etc. than put those resources into games that don't interest me in the slightest because of either quality or genre.

Like I said, you're selfish.

What we need here are numbers:

Maxis's Most Recent Game: Spore Creatures, sold .95 million.

Pandemic Studios Most Recent Game: The Lord of The Rings Conquest, sold 0.82 million IN TOTAL.
DS: .06 million
Xbox 360: .39 million
PS3: .37 million

EALA's Most Recent Game: Red Alert 3, sold 1 million IN TOTAL, after a huge price drop.

Ok, I understand that's quite shitty numbers, but, Pandemic was in the middle of making The Sabateur, which looks like it's going to sell like hot cakes, EALA was making C&C4, which might sell well, and Maxis, well, they have a good track record, and Spore Creatures sold highly for a spin off DS game...

They couldn't afford to keep funding these companies and so let them go in an attempt to save themselves from bankruptcy. It of course though, is a sad day for these companies. Although they still may exist, without the collaboration with EA or another large company that will take them on board, they'll be in a rut and unless they find another company with which to collaborate, they'll eventually go under and have to get other jobs.

This will affect lots of current games also. Sims 3 is meant to be getting recurring updates and expansions (as Maxis love to do) and so that will probably be the final update to Sims 3 before it's ever worked on again.

No, not really, EA Play's incharge of the Sims, Maxis is in charge of Spore.
Either way, EA's blaming their companies for EA's marketing decisions, had they given them a higher maximum number of months to release a game (not to work on, to release, and that's 18 months) they would've pumped out better games. EA thinks GTA IV was made in a year, it wasn't, I think it took 2-3.

Either way, EA must have its reasons. They haven't released a reasoning behind it, but the problem must be financial, because these companies and games havem ore than enough of a fan-base to hold interest in the games they produce.

Yeah, but it's just not a fan base big enough.
Like I said above, the game quality is deteriating because EA's basically forcing these guys to make constant game after game after game.

Good game companies, like, lets say Valve, barely work even remotely like that.
