A voice demo reel like this one would be nice.

Response to: How do I put medals in my games? Posted August 12th, 2009 in Game Development

the medal system is only available to a few choice people. Tom made it that way because he doesn't want every single nooby game out there to be with medals that can be easily gotten worth 100 points.

Go to File>Import>Import to Library
then select the audio file you want. Once it's in your library just drag and drop it onto the stage to add the audio.

I agree that there are just stupid people out there who blam this just cuz it's sprites and the fact that it's getting a higher score than what their own work can produce. However I bring good news! After searching through all of todays new submissions I discovered that there's only 1 movie that has a higher score than ours (Midnight Visit) That means our chance of getting a daily award is pretty high :D

Response to: Some questions on animating Posted July 16th, 2009 in Game Development

movie clips you can animate separately from the main timeline. groups are just multiple objects grouped together so you can move it around like one object.

I'm back. I'm going to work like hell to try and get my second part done before sega submits!

Response to: Sprites Collab Posted July 10th, 2009 in Game Development

Good News and Bad News... Good News is that I'm going on a mini vacation to the beach today and tomorrow. Huzzah! Bad News is that means I won't be here for most of today and tomorrow. Oh No! that means I won't be able to finish my second part on time. But sega says that he's gonna submit it on the 16th so hopefully he'll be kind enough to let me give my part to him a couple days late. I don't want Doug's voice acting go to nothing. Well that's about it. I guess I'll cya all in 2 days. Good luck on the collab!

yeah, It was awesome! I'm gonna be using the first take of the three because it seems like it fits just a bit better than the other 2.

Response to: Sprites Collab Posted July 9th, 2009 in Game Development

Hey guys. I just wanted to let you know that I'm almost done with my second part. I'll have it done by tomorrow night which is the deadline If I'm not mistaken. I'll probably post the preview here before I give it to segaplaya to make any changes that you ask of me. If I run a bit late then I'll probably just give it to segaplaya like that. So just giving you a heads up.

Fireworks maybe? If you don't have that, maybe dowload GIMP?
do any of those 2 have a transparency tool and a cutting tool. thats what ineed it for. cutting them out and making the BG transparent.

why do you need to make the background transparent? can't you just trace the bitmap and delete the background in flash? My crappy tutorial that I made a long time ago can explain it sorta if you don't know what I mean. tutorial

Also you can even delete the background in paint if you must.

ok will do, but i wont be able to do it till tomorrow, but like is there any specific way you want it done?

sent you a pm of how I kinda want it to sound. The first to lines should be said casually like this is just another boring day without anything exciting going on. The third line should be like you're freaking out from surprise of the bomb that bomberman will place. that's really all you ned to know.

hey guys. I'm working on my second part right now. But I'm going to need a male voice actor for the gaurd at the check out station in the airport (this is the one I got from sunrie btw. I believe it's explained on page 2 of this thread). He needs to say the following lines:

1) All right, next in line please step forward.

2) please place all metal objects on the conveyer belt

3) Holy S***! A terrorist! Get down on the ground! Get him men!

well that's all he has to say. So if anyone would like to contribute you can pm a link to download the audio files or just email me at spriteharvester@gmail.com. If no one wants to then I'll just find someone else elsewhere.

Also your part was funny Doug. The only thing I might change is the time it takes when she teleports to the sandbag just a bit shorter. teleports are generally instantaneous. just fix that and your part is really good :)

Hey Vincoid, because the collab is getting delayed so much, I was thinking of maybe editing my part to make it a little better. If I don't get it to you by the time you decide to submit this thing then that's alright, you can just use the old copy. Also I'll get to work on my profile pic as well.

Response to: Sprites Collab Posted June 18th, 2009 in Game Development

July 16th? that's plenty of time! Idk when I'll have my second part done but it'll be done long before that.

just a suggestion. Toad should actually start talking before mario cuts him off. Or else it may be confusing for people who don't know the story of it. Have Toad get up to like, "I'm sorry, but your princess is-" *Mario cuts him off there*

That way people who haven't seen sunrie's script for this will more easily understand it. Just a suggestion.

I need more then a week. I'm not really allowed on the computer this week because of finals except for a few breaks. And even then I'm not really getting any progress on my part. 2 weeks might be good.

i also have a lot going on. next week is finals and I really need to study and I've barely even started my second part. Can you push the deadline back a bit segaplaya?

its very funny and very well done, cant wait to add it to the collab. one thing, your logo needs to be on the bottom left corner. apart from that, well done.

hmm... I tried altering the logo to the bottom left, but it pretty much completely covers the ditto. If you'll notice the ditto's in the bottom left corner for most of the animation. By chance could you add an exception?
