I have been gewtting the same problem with a song I have been working on and off since February and quite frankly it's a nuisance. My guess is probably all the VSTs and effects used in the song (quite a bit). To avoid this i suggest sampling your effects; like make the drums, bass, etc and export it as a high quality .WAV file and then sample it. This technique has helped me on the more technical and heavy projects.

I'm gonna sit back and watch the cleveland show fail as hard as sit down, shut up! did.

You're probably right. The idea is to create music that will pertain to the mainstream listener, providing more of a chance to make more revenue for your song. The same idea can be applied for music with lyrics.
