So you are not imperialist yet you are willing to be a nationalist?
See man, that’s what I’m talking about. A person who needs the money will fight so others can keep the money that they already have and possibly make shitloads more. It’s like a carrot at the end of a stick and it’s going to lead you right off a cliff

Actually, it’s “thou shall not murder”. I don’t think you realize this but the Bible is the last place to find propaganda against killing. Just think about all the wars and killings that were either carried out in the name of or done first hand by this God guy. The bible is very clear that killing is ok in a lot of cases. Everything from vengeance to the fact that they may not believe in the same invisible man in the sky that you do.

I don’t look at it as avenging a death. I think of it as thinign out the herd. If there was a sick or violent animal that was killing off the rest of the group then I would see no problem with puting it down.
Basicaly the only things that should get an M are games that might have the same content that movies or mags that are restricted to 18 and up have......namely porn. Brothels don't matter as long as you can't see the actual act. In that case it's an M. I don't think that there has ever been a game violent enough to get an M, but then again I do love me some violence.
I think that it's a good idea but a mature rating should be reserved for the extreme of the extreme. I mean a little violence or sexual content is ok but if the game is really gory or has explicit sexual content or characters are doing extremely unlawful things without consequence and screaming “cock sucking mother-fucker” every twenty seconds then slap on an “M”. Otherwise chill out and let the kids have their fun.

Well actually when you think about it the religions would not exist if it were not for idiotic people cowering in fear from the many things that they don’t understand. Ideas formed by idiots are then logically idiotic by nature.
By the way Apeman505 the rituals are the outcome of religions not the start of them. If it were not for the bible then we would not have snake handlers, in some nations it is common practice to pierce large portions of their face, neck, chest, arms, and abdomen with huge unsterilized and sometimes rusty implements such as swords, lamps and tree branches all because the think that “god” caused a famine more than a thousand years ago.
Irresponsible, barbaric, and it has no place in the twenty-first century. Religion has served it’s purpose as a means to thwart mankinds depression and fear of his own mortality long enough to ensure that the species made it to the point where we would not need it. It was an evolutionary response to a simple mind and we are now beyond it to the point where we can now be our own deity.
Short answer, no. Long answer. Hell mother-fucking no.
Dying for your country is a misnomer. You will actually be dying to secure the property and wealth of the ruling class. So unless you are a member of the ruling class I don’t think its your responsibility.
I feel that all extreme religious practices, especially the dangerous ones are idiotic, irresponsible and denote exactly how dangerous religion can be.

Urm, like what? I mean, the time when people were most inventive was during World War 2, but that had nothing to do with Capitalism.
Well actually yes, it was due to capitalism. Within at least the past two hundred years the main drive of all war has been profit. Civil war, emancipation was a side benefit for the north, mainly it was about land and agriculture. WW II ? Well, we ignored what was going on in Europe until we realized that a war could pull us out of a depression. Likewise, the major advancements in science were helped by capitalism simply because a feudal state is too oppressive for free thought to reign. However, capitalism is now retarding progress. More spending goes to military than cancer research, or developing a truly respectable space program. Capitalists will only develop technology if it will make large sums of money really fast or it can kill a whole lot of people so we can control their land.

Well, lets look at it this way. If there is a god he is a scientist. You would agree that there are physical laws, yes? Well, if there is a god who created the universe then these laws are also his creation. I mean, the logical progression of events from the big bang, to the formation of stars, planets and life all can be explained but I don’t see why that makes it any less amazing than the idea that the plane of reality lies on gods thumbnail. There could be a creator or all this could exist because energy simply must be. The point is that if you believe, then have faith and stop looking for quick simple answers. That is the definition of faith. Besides if god exists he doesn’t want you to know. He wants you to trust.
I can’t have that trust. I believe that the grater thing than us is the energy that flows ever changing throughout the universe being everywhere and nowhere binding all things at once. And no I am not a damn Jedi. This is how I feel about science and physics. By the way, shame on you, saying that we spontaneously existed is not as scientific at the theory of evolution. Creationism was how we explained where we came from before we understood evolution, or really even put any scientific thought into it.
Yah, sadly most Americans are a little too caught up in melting down their individuality. Reminds me of the Borg.
“Must wear Pumas......Pepsi for the collective........American Idol, resistance if futile”
As much as people rag on the Canadians, I respect any culture that can say, “fuck it, this is who I am”. That’s what America is supposed to be about but too many have lost their way. At least there are still people in this country resistant to the bleaching of their roots and as long as there are, there is hope.
Quick, someone tie a tourniquet around this guys heart. I think it’s bleeding too much.
Look, the world is an ugly place, and the Iraqis aint’ exactly saints. They are as much to blame as anyone else. If we were that twisted, to pound on someone simply because we could then almost every country would be feeling the sting. Now, I don’t like our politics seeing as how we won’t make a move until we are sure there’s profit to be made but come on. If America wanted to it could destroy Iraq. We learned our lesson from the Gulf war and now we don’t televise vital information. If they started using chem or bio war fair on our ground troops then we will simply carpet bomb or use smart missiles. It’s an ugly but solid fact that the American government is the best at destroying people and their land and still attempting to come off as the good guys since the Nazis.
True, pride is in our nature. However we are socialized to believe that we are defined by the things we own. You are not that fancy house or that new car. A person is defined by the things that they create and by the thoughts and ideas they have. The kind of pride a person feels after finishing a painting, building a table, writing a song, or even making a really good flash movie. In a communistic society, social values are focused on work ethic, and pride in the idea that all effort in one way or another will benefit all society. Unfortunately in a capitalistic society most people have more pride in owning an I-pod than, lets say, creating a literary work. It still won’t happen for a while but it’s not human nature that will get in the way. First a super power like America must start a rapid decline creating an economically depressed police state. Revolutions and a brief civil war may give way to a reconstruction period. <~~~ that’s the short version.

Points well taken. In one respect you are sort of right. The Moon was at one point in contact with the Earth. It was a mass of super heated liquid rock that was torn from the Earths surface by the impact that caused the Extinction level event meteor that killed of the dinosaurs. As all with liquids it formed a sphere in the vacuum of space and cooled to its present state. Since it was thrown from our atmosphere it is slowly moving away.
Secondly, you can not discern the expansion of the universe and its estimated thousands of billions of galaxies based the nature of a few moons and planets in a single solar system in a single galaxy. Aside from the conservation of angular momentum you need to account for gravity and the effect of masses directly and indirectly effecting each other. It has also been observed that all galaxies are in fact moving away from each other and are somewhat equally distributed.
Thirdly, there are still asteroids simply because they are byproducts of meteors hitting planets hard enough to send debris into space. In fact, the major asteroid belt in this solar system are chipped off Mars.
Finally, not a great flood, just interesting weather. Think about it. Earthquakes, glaciers, tectonic shifts, meteors, and the magnetic reversal of the poles for starters. Also, places that were lush are now deserts and visa-versa, lots happens in billions of years. So if you want scientific proof of god, you won’t find it. I thought that was what faith was.

Though sometimes I would love to just give someone a good killing.
I am happy to say that based on most of the characteristics listed here I am by no means a typical American. Although most of the non-Americans here seem to be judgmental, intolerant, and culturally insensitive. Congratulations! You are the “typical American”. You will do very well in this country. Sorry everyone but sometimes we humans just make me laugh a little. Species are so cute at this age.

Smoking, ANY kind of smoke, can be harmful to those around you. Cigarette smoke, marijuana, cigar, clove, sage...anything. Especially if that person happens to have allergies or be extremely athsmatic.
To the person who said 'I'm drinking poison, for christ's sake!' (I'm paraphrasing, of course), good for you. But does the alcohol you put in your body cause secondary intoxication in the person sitting next to you? No. But secondary smoke is a carcinogen. It causes CANCER. It's deadly.
Think about more than just yourself, and you'll be happier. Besides, if you're not healthy enough to get off your happy ass and go outside for a smoke, then you shouldn't be smoking anyway.
(Yes, I used to smoke. My opinions then were the same as they are now. I always smoked outside, even in a smoking establishment. Why? Losing someone to lung cancer CAUSED by second hand smoke does something to you. Think, before you act.)
I don’t disagree with the point that second hand smoke can be harmful. I just don’t like the flawed logic that leads people to believe that my smoking a cigaret is doing the damage of a pack of non-filters to a person who happens to be in the same room. Now, there are obvious places where smoking is not appropriate. I’ll grant you that. Government buildings, most restaurants (unless there is a separate, room with a ventilation system as some placed have), hospitals, most places of work, and where children congregate. I just say that the bars and other adult places should have the right to chose between a smoking and non-smoking environment. For starters, patronizing a bar means that you are taking a health risk to begin with and that you are an adult who has the capacity to make your own decisions. If you don’t like smoke don’t be there. I don’t smoke in the homes or cars of the people I know and love because in that case I may be around them enough to do damage. On the other hand, I don’t give a shit about some guy who I don’t know who is only going to be siting next to me for a few minutes. Secondly, these are private businesses and the owner should have the right to do anything allowable by federal law. Also, everyone is failing to realize that the majority of people don’t have a problem with braving a little smoke. If there was a market for it there would be millions of specialty non-smoking bars. I’ve been all around America, the UK and Europe (I realize the last two are basically the same thing to everyone but the UK but some of them don’t like to think so) and I have yet to see a single one. Except for the states where these uptight liberals found the need to restrict personal freedom for personal comfort. Ironic? Just a tad.
Hate to say this but the Harry Potter movie was less predictable. Nice explosions though, and the chicks were nice to look at.
BLAM to bond! The creator has to be rollin’ around in his grave.
This just a preemptive move before I get labeled a noob. I put in my time around here. I’ve seen profiles of people who have been hooked up to this site since 2000 and are at the same rank as myself and I might add are critics ( like myself ) rather than creators. And before anyone criticizes me for not making movies, that’s not where my strengths are. I know I suck at flash and I won’t pollute valuable web space with shit flicks. I do know what’s good and what needs a blammin’, I also know how hard this media is. No one gives the new guys credit. NOOBS! Strength in numbers! But.....uh....don’t expect me to join nothin’.

The only way to do this is through world wide communism, true communism. Where spirituality is more important than paying constant tribute to a god. Where the means of production are made public and a planed economy ensured housing, food, medical care, and education to all. Where the world would be unified under a co-op that made borders meaningless and continents a simple mater of geography rather than overly complex politics. It won’t happen for a while. The only other way to rid the world of these plights is to remove mankind altogether.
No, for I also reciever input from you in forming my thought. You understood what I said, thus validating my thoughts. Just being able communicate shows us we really exist outside of our own minds. I think. haha.
Wrap your head around this one. Do you know that I wrote that or is your mind telling you that I wrote it and you are responding to your own deeper thoughts. The mind is capable of creating scenario upon scenario ever exploring countless possible contingencies and outcomes. Even while the superficial mind is active the subconscious is at play. Or so it tells me.
Too True.Except for Hitler. We didn’t like that he was trying to rule the world and of course that’s Americas job. Who knows, if that mad little midget had something more to offer the U.S., history could have been very different. And to all of you who take offence to this, I’m not too of base. The U.S. was on Osamas side for a while. Shit, we even trained him.
It was always my feeling with meditation that if you could transcend consciousness you would never really know it. You would snap back to reality feeling like no time has passed. Sorta makes looking for nirvana seem all in vain. The only time I can meditate is when I’m not thinking about it. That’s why I do all my best meditating while I’m drunk. Seriously though, I think MJClock has a point. Almost all consciousness dependant on externally stimuli. As is all life experience. If it were not for light traveling through your eyes, stimulating the optic nerve to send information through the optic chiasm, lateral geniculate nucleus of thalamus, midbrain, to the occipital lobe, your mind would never get this information. Then again how do you know if you really are reading this? Since the mind depends on electrical impulses to define the world the true mind can never directly experience anything and must trust the information sent to it. This makes it hard to prove that anything really exists outside of your own mind.Wait,......in that case, if you transcend consciousness.......do you stop being? Maybe that’s why it’s so hard, it’s a failsafe.
Well, in the end I think that somewhere in all of this me, verg, and MarijuanaClock agree on some things but I’m way to drunk to figure out what exactly. I say cheers to you gentlemen and lets rest assured in our mutual respect for each other, for I would not waste time arguing with someone who I did not respect.

It's just my opinion.
That it is, yet it doesn’t account for accidental or unwanted pregnancy. Lets say that the birth control methods fail or there is a rape. Pregnancy in not a necessary consequence to sex. This is not the middle ages and not everyone feels that they have sinned for not having sex strictly for reproduction. If it were not for the right to choose then at 18 I would have had a wife, a child, no education, and no way to support myself or those who would depend on me. We were responsible, condom and birth-control pills, one failed and then the next. If it were up to pro-life people my life, my girl friends, and that child’s would have almost certainly been ruined.
