I play a Strat, i listen to none of that shit, and use my Strat to play plenty of stuff more suited to a heavier sort of guitar. The reason i started playing guitar was because i've always loved the music made by them and wanted to do the same thing (as well as 'WOW' chicks and all). And the reason i got a Strat, well, personal preference really.
