'believe in peaceful doctrines'

It would seem your 'peaceful doctrine' hasn't encouraged you to be peaceful yourself. Also, have you actually read the Old testament? Yahweh is an evil spiteful being and in no way encourages peace.

Also, did I actually say anything against your beliefs? Or anyone else's for that matter? No.

All I did was provide a fact, I didn't state that I belive that fact proved anything did I......

but making jokes about dead comedians.. thats tradition.. everyone should be allowed to do that without any ramifications.

Telling someone that they will dies soon becasue one of their friends died not long back seems to be a little more than a joke to me, more so because of the fact he actually said it to the guys face.......

He also says that proof of this can be found in the fact that America is 90% religous in some form. The insinuation being that Americans are stupid.

So he insulted all non atheists and Americans.

Thank you for being so aggresive towards my post. It only further goes to show that some people will jump to arms as soon as a near negative word is uttered about their religion. I wasn't insulting anyone (Or at least not intentionally). Also, I only said that 'evidence points towards', I didn't say it proved anything. By all means, go and find some evidence that goes against mine and we can discuss the findings.

I didn't mean to offend at all, Its just what the vast majority of eveidence I have seen points towards, no offence intended.

Whats Your Stance On Religion? Posted July 16th, 2007 in General

I have been looking into religion lately and more so the effect that different religions and their followers have on the world.

I thought I would ask the question here as I belive that there is a good mix on the BBS of intelligence and stupidity, as well as mature and immature personality types.

The reason I want a good mix is bacause there is quite a lot of eveidence that it is usually the lower end of the intelligence spectrum that follow a religion and the higher end that shy away from it. For instance, in the US 90% of the population are religious in some respect yet of all the members of Mensa only 10% say that have any religious beliefs at all. I found the contrast interesting so have come here to ask the question.

Which of these groups closest represents your religious beliefs?

Atheist

Agnostic

Monotheist

Polytheist

(I realise that there are many other religious pigeonholes but I asume most BBS users will pretty much fall into one of those four)

Also, please add what country you live in and how strongly you hold your beliefs.

I am personaly a very strong Atheist and I live in the UK.

(For those that just read the beginning and end of a post)
Are you an Atheist, Agnostic, Monotheist or Polytheist? How strongly do you hold you beliefs and where do you live?

Why do people insist on trying to find a 'meaning' for our lives? We are not 'put on this earth for a reason'. We are only here due to natural selection. Surely if you want to have a meaning then so must every other living thing that ever existed. We have no purpose at all, we are just here.

Why can't people be happy with their lives without having to belive that their is some goal they must achive before their mortal clock stops ticking?

Your life has just as much purpose and meaning as the life of an amoeba.

Just go and have fun, lead a full and exciting life and STFU.

Best Action/drama/sci-fi Movies??? Posted June 7th, 2007 in General

My faves so far my faves are;

Lucky Number Slevin
Matrix Trilogy
Fight Club

I personally really enjoy action films when they have a decent story/plot line and a nice twist or two. How about you?

Response to: What happened to the classics? Posted June 6th, 2007 in General

'All this 80's indie sounds like sh*t to me, coz I don't like Joy Devision, I dont like Morrissey!' - Jamie Lenman

I have to say that I prefer new music and new games.

The other week I started watching a few 'Angry Video Game Nerd' video's and I thought to myself 'I need to get hold of some of these games I grew up with some classics ' so I borrowed a Mega Drive (Genesis) and a SNES plus about 60 games off a friend. And I started to play. I quickly realised why I haven't got either of these consoles anymore, the games last you about 2 hours before you complete them or in the case of some games (Metroid of example) they last a few days but only because you do the same thing over and over and over. New games a far better.

Now to the music, I personally listen to what I enjoy listening to, not because I have hopped onto a bandwagon as most kids do around the age of 13-16. Bands like Nirvana, GnR, Hendrix are good, but they are so outdated, trust me, in a few years you will go off them and find a band/s that you really like, a band/s from your own time and era.

OK, moaning over, go back to what you were doing, sorry about that.
