you fail

I love music enough I want to do it for a living. I need to make money in order to do it for a living. Think about what you're going to say before your going to say it.

A Musician's Salary Posted May 26th, 2013 in General

How much could a successful musician make from composing music for Newgrounds amongst other sites? I ask this because I fell that its my best bet as a career in life and I'm working on tackling it actively.

Please note that I am NOT asking on how to become a successful musician, but how much could a successful one make.

Vocalist/lyricist wanted! Posted May 19th, 2013 in Collaboration

Hello there,

I've created a Gorillaz-inspired song and need a vocalist/lyricist for it. It's free verse, so you have a lot of freedom and don't need to repeat lyrics if you don't want to.

The track is here: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/535998?updated=1.

Feel free to sing about whatever you want! If this goes well I might be interested in working with you again in the future.

Also, please keep in mind that this is experimental. I'm trying something new here and I'd appreciate it if you'd work with me on this one.

Other info:

Length: 2:33

Pay: You'll get credit and it'll be put on Newgrounds but that's it.

Thanks for reading and I hope to work with you soon!

I'm pretty sure that you'll need a musician as well.

As it so happens, I am a musician, and I'm interested in working with you on something like this. It offers a lot of variety and challenge for me as a composer, so I'm eager to participate.

PM me if you'd like to work together!

Thanks,
Sparkley

This...this is going to be one of those flashes isn't it...

Either way I'm interested in composing the music for it. I'm in the process of putting some demos on NG so you can see them.

I can do any type of music except dubstep, so I have a lot of variety.

PM me if you're interested!

Response to: Why are boys so into violence? Posted March 2nd, 2013 in General

It's not so much that we're into violence as we're into victory. To us I think it's more of the competition and the outcome that matters rather than the actual violence.

I'm creative, however now I'm lost Posted February 28th, 2013 in General

I'm going to ask a girl out but want to do it creatively, that is to say, out of the ordinary.

That means no roses or cards or anything that usually gets used. I mean something radical like a clown that explodes into candy and kittens or something. Yeah...

SO. Suggestions?

Can you show me some examples of Maxromedia Flash movies? I say this because I don't know how to tell the differences between the different softwares.

I was in the same ship many years back. What are your choices of programs you have in mind. Knowing that I might be able to give you a better answer.

I was thinking of Toon Boom Animate or some version of Flash.

I'll have to look into that. I'm a student currently and want to go into animation, so it may apply to me.

Choosing a program to use Posted February 10th, 2013 in Animation

Hi,

I'm interested in animation, and have been for a long time. I finally have the resources and time to persue this media, but I'm still in the process of choosing a program to work with.

I've done simple little animations on my iPad, so I know how to animate and what goes into it, meaning I'm not looking for a total beginners program here.

I don't have the hugest budget in the world (a maximum of $600 if I'm convinced enough) so Flash might be out of reach for me on this one.

SO. Suggestions as to what program I should use?

Response to: Beginnings of a story Posted February 10th, 2013 in Writing

First of all, thanks for not pulling any punches and just giving your honest thoughts. That helps SO much.

Secondly, and I forgot to mention this, I wrote this very fast and quick, probably the reasons for my spelling/grammar errors. I also just wanted to get the idea out there.

I'm going to rewrite this with what you've said in mind and make it into a couple short stories (main and prequel).

Thanks for critiquing what I've written, I'm glad the Writing Forum is here!

Beginnings of a story Posted February 9th, 2013 in Writing

Hi,

I wrote the beginning to a story that I'd like to see finished some time in the future, but like I said, it's the very beginning.

I put it here: http://www.newgrounds.com/dump/item/8eac47c12aaaaf1e102cae8e ee428215

Constructive criticism, thoughts, loud obscenities?

Response to: Assembling flash game team Posted February 6th, 2013 in Collaboration

A good first game would be something along the lines of Pac-Man, just for an example.

It's simple, it's fun, it doesn't need a story, and the old rule holds true: better graphics doesn't mean better game.

A good flash game that also illustrates this is "Help the Hero" by the-xp (I believe that's his user). Minus the better graphics bit, this game is simple and fun.

I hope this helped, and I really do hope that you get on your way to making a game.

Yeah. Music lol

Okay, I misunderstood you. I thought that you needed a writer to come up with a theme for the entire game.

Sure, has to be adventerous and classically upbeat :3

No, like in terms of content. What do you mean by "theme?"

Response to: Punk Club Posted February 4th, 2013 in Clubs & Crews

You can't go wrong with some good old Iggy and the Stooges.

Go listen to some Iggy and the Stooges.

Response to: Petition for a Writing Portal Posted February 4th, 2013 in Writing

The Writing Portal should be structured like the Art Portal.

Anyone can put out content, but to get onto the REAL portal you should have to be scouted by a higher ranked user. This way there won't be spam with no regards to grammar or spelling.

Response to: Needed: Writer to enhance my game Posted February 2nd, 2013 in Writing

I'm also interested, except unlike the previous poster (no offense to them) I'm actually a writer. It sounds like an interesting project to work on, but if you could provide more details on this thread that would help immensely.
