Western cartoons you people actually LIKE western cartoons! I honestly feel that most of them are pure shit aimed at anyone 6 and under. Of course western cartoons are also giving anime a bad name, in fact stereotyping all animation no matter where it comes from or of what quality it is. im not saying all western animation is bad though, i enjoy shows like the Simpsons (back when they made GOOD episodes) and Futurama, South Park etc. but those shows like Scooby Doo (may it burn in hell) have tarnished the image of all animation perhaps forever. Animation is an art like any other and deserves more respect than its given by the west, many good anime have been butchered by US distributors (initial D is a good example). But im not saying anime is perfect either, back when i was around 10-12 i used to love anime, in particular Ruroni Kenshin and Mobile Suit gundam Wing but i feel that anime too has been forever tarnished. look at a lot of recent anime, most of it is either aimed at kids stuff, arthouse shit or both. Every male main character is either a whimpy crybaby shinji-clone or an obnoxious "i wanna be the best ______ in the world, and make a lot of friends" type such as ash from pokemon (which should have never been made into a series). im not bagging all recent anime hell, i like Naruto too but this arthouse and kids stuff has to stop.
I know this post has been large and most of it off the original topic, but i felt it had to be said if you want to send me an angry PM by all means do but even you cant deny at least some of this post is the truth.
