For one thing, character design. The circle tool's for circles, not bodies. The Line, pencil, or brush tool would help. Also, don't just go by what I say, but I don't really like the dog-humping-cat in the bg. Weird.

I have plenty of ways to start off my animations- the first and foremost is when an Idea pops into my head. I might be golfing, then boom- there's something. I'll get home and type it up.

Another way is through music. Find a good song, pick a theme, then roll with it.

Something which I try to do but really don't is script- try to make something up out of nothing with no inspiration. If you're funny, you can do it. If not, then one of the other two ways work.
