Drums, keyboard, and a barely audible guitar. The guitarist (Paul)'s lead broke, we didnt have a spare, so he had to sit proper close to the amp.

Its definitely a pisstake, in the first riff? Hear those clicks where it starts again? Thats what you get in acid pro when you dont fade the samples properly. Bull shit this is done on keyboard. I doubt you could get any of these sounds even with the best korg, as keyboards dont really do distorted guitar well. This without a doubt a bad mishmash of stolen metal sounds. I wouldnt care if it was done well, but this is awful.

I'm fucking sick of this. I can only conclude that some of the NG staff are in the n00b crews. This is why my audio proposition was shot down in the audio evolution thread, and why a thread giving us the two possible courses of action (do something about it, or shut the fuck up, but just quit whining about it) was locked. It was recognised as a potential place for people to flock to and begin the argument proper.

I'd say, yes, borderline if its legal. And its not even extreme experimenting like my own works (plug) but just changing synths n shit when i heard his stuff. If he claims them as his own work, then its DEFINITELY illegal, if he doesnt i'm not so sure.
But then.... newgrounds would likely want a cut.... and if the cd had to have newgrounds permission, and they didnt give it, then the cd would just go on sale without the endorsement, cos it doesnt NEED it. It could just be a cd of artists who all happen to have some of their tracks hosted on these pages. You squirm, but there is no real reason for him to not do it, and if he doesnt, then this particular opportunity of getting more publicity both for some artists, and for newgrounds wont happen.
And just how is the music off newgrounds newgrounds' property?
They host it, they have no legal claim to it. Its just that when you put your work on here, you cannot sue people for downloading it.

Lol in that case you're far beyond me, but try unplugging your mic or muting the volume on the windows volume panel. Or similar if you're on a mac (yes, i dont know how they work)
If using acid, turn the microphone volume to 0 or mute, this probably applies to other progs as well but i cant be sure, tho it would make sense.
