Wish I had a bit earlier.
Sorry for the double post, but it's also notable that the article you linked is outdated by nearly ten years... right around the time that Grand Theft Auto III was a hot topic.

Sorry, I was just distracted by your sig.
Anyways, on the topic of laziness, how about blaming video games for to take the pressure of of an abundant lack of responsibility on the part of everybody that could have possibly looked into helping a deranged individual before they went and fucked a bunch of lives up, and ending many in the process? Show me the study that proves video games are a direct link to violence among children and I'll show you mine telling yoursvery precisely that it's bullshit.

Goodness, how "shockingly" inconclusive. So much of that is theoretical, as it's always been. As a whole it seems to stray even; we're supposed to be talking proof of violence here, and what actually leads to it. If somebody is psychotic, they're psychotic. What ever did happen to 'crazy'? Blame is the best friend of the media, and it can be used to great effect when used in context to something their consumers (as well as them) know nothing about. They'll even throw in a psychologist's name in there for legitimacy's sake, but that's just the cherry on top. Clear and proven facts absent-- but it doesn't matter; mommy doesn't care, she's already moving to the other room to turn off her 17 year-old son's Xbox and hug him for dear life, ignoring the Nazi insignia posters on his wall (so to speak).
My side of proof though? Already linked it above. I suggest taking the time to watch the video.

When the Fire Nation attacked.
That or when I started drinking.
Getting killed by my friend's wolf-dog for no apparent reason and losing all of my NoobLoot. To be honest, I probably... slightly overreacted.
My vision, since he'd already know what I do when I'm bored and alone.
The argument, the response, and the conclusion: do yourself a favor and watch this.
It astonishes me how much this argument against video games can carry on for when it clearly has no solid ground.
Fatale: A Darkly Comedic Sci-Fi Series
Season 1
Episode 1 "Full Tilt" [Revised]
Synopsis:
Year 2231: On Manifest, a thriving Space State in the Earth's orbit the charming public figure Juliana Emerson, works out of the mass media conglomerate Quote UnQuote, as a public relations manager and advertisement model. Upon hire, she also kills people with hyper-lethal effectiveness, taking those jobs as any other. That makes it a bit more than a typical work day for most. Juliana's life has been a simple one under convoluted circumstances; as her image spread, so did her fame-- a recognizable face amongst the public. Who in their right mind would suspect her to be a cold blooded killer? Unfortunately for her, there are a few with justifiable suspicions, and the secretively informed that have their heads too high above the clouds to look down and care. But that's just business-- at least until it booms.

About the series:
Masked by bubbly cartoon expression, suggestion of flamboyant movement, and a seemingly shallow purpose, is a darkly comedic sci-fi series called Fatale. You may be asking yourself "well exactly what the fuck is it," and that's a good question, because while it appears to be a dead give away, much like the characters portrayed, there is a much harder edge to it.
Part of its claim to being a dark comedy comes through in something as basic as the very style it's portrayed in, which also serves as a visual metaphor for the story's themes of deception. Deceived by by what your eyes are showing you, and what your gut is telling you, it's a bit of a shock when somebody is reduced to a mess on the wall while you still think you were viewing something Disney-approved. Admittedly (yet fittingly) gratuitous violence, unfiltered language, raw sexuality, and bare emotion are what the story is made up on.
Already read by many, and greatly acclaimed for it's style, tragically lovable characters, winding storyline, and original attitude, Fatale: A Darkly Comedic Sci-Fi Series is a story of deception, over-indulgence, distorted identity, and frustrations amongst the wicked.

Format:
Some-what thematically following the television format, the story unravells over thirteen episodes of a season which are to be continued. I've already written the first treatments of Season 1 and released them elsewhere; as I'm writing the revised versions, I figured now would be the perfect time to release them here, bringing you all along for the process.
Ultimately, the series is to be adapted to comic form (I've had an offer from another artist, but it's only being conceptualized as a model to work off of at this point), but each episode is written in a way meant to hold the average reader's interest far more than that of a standard script, flowing freely without the constraints of format.
Of course, the ultimate goal is to have this be animated as the story and visual intention lends itself to being, and New Grounds is a place that is truly a melting pot of talent. I'd love to see some animators or even other artists check the series out and get their thoughts on it. I do art for the series though, even developed the style-- so you may be wondering why aren't I drawing it? Well it's because I'm not that efficient at it, to be completely honest. I wouldn't be able to provide it with the appropriate level of visual depth for a serialized (web) comic and I certainly lack the skills to animate.
But that's not this is about, what it's about is sharing the series with a wider audience than the places that I've already done it with-- New Grounds is the first place I've posted a thread for the series where it actually belongs in terms of creative purpose. If anybody has any recommendations for how best to go about conducting my presentation, or questions about where I've already brought the series, it would be greatly accepted/happily answered.
I think the best thing to do is get the thing and then code it with the other thing and fuck I don't know where I'm going with this.
