I love conforming. It gives me so many benefits like citizenship, rights to a fair trial, free public education, the acceptance of my peers etc. The only thing that conformity doesn't give you is happiness. However, that can come artificially if you know the right people.

I actually had to do an assignment on this topic for my English class. Basically, there are sociological and personal factors involved in this. We are taught to respect each others privacy and we also hate making a fool out of ourselves. Even something like rape can be ignored if you think that someone else would take care of it.
