Iactually mentioned this in my last post. Islam is heavily practised in regions of the Caucasus like in Dagestan and even in SouthEast Europe like Bosnia and Chechnya.

I would find it fantastical and be very grateful if our history classes in high school dispensed courses on Indo european migration/Indian/middle eastern/Islamic history. The most integral parts of European history that we aready learn like the reanissaince that allowed the flourishment of human ideals that lead to development of Literature,Math,Science had their influences from the Islamic caliphate and in intellectual centers of this Islamic empire in Corduba of Spain and Baghdad.

Where they inherited prominent works of knowledge from the Hindus, and Persians, and Chinese while Arabs continuously and consistently developed and studied and contributed much of their own knowledge in dozens of fields ranging from Optics and Astronomy to Philosophy, Medicine and Alchemy.

This sort of in depth teaching of the great cultures of the Middle East and Asia would bring awareness to American children and adults and give them them honest answers to the history of some of the worlds greatest cultures of the Middle east and Asia.
