That's okay. As long as you poop chocolate.
Wait, I can't eat chocolate anyway. I'm a dog.

Are you an Easter bunny?
I liked your previous work, as far as I've heard it. I'll listen to this once I've fixed my sound card drivers (or when I can work on a different computer with functional sound card).

It just means somebody out there doesnt hate your music. If they really thought you did something worth anything theyd review the audio and that would be worth much more.
Then my next question is: Who approved me? When was that? How does it work?
You know, when I first got here not too long ago I didn't even know how it worked, and I still don't really.
I was just posting music, hoping people would get to hear it. Then I read your channel had to get approved first, so I just posted another song each week, until after a month and a halve I suddenly received 5 messages (maybe less) on the same day in my inbox from people I didn't know who would "scout" me. I wanted to accept them all, but after I accepted the first one (I don't know by who that was) all messages disappeared. Then I read some more about being scouted, and I thought that was some new thing to replace the "approve" system. Now you tell me that also still exists?
Oh well. A big thank you to both the person who has "scouted" me and the one who has "approved" me. Let me know who to send the nude pictures to.

I haven't said "thank you" yet.

But you'll never know who scouted you. That question will haunt you forever.
Maybe a nice idea for a thread? One were you can post who has scouted who. Or would that be against the rules.

You are scouted.

You can't. It was an April fool's joke. Too bad though. It really would be an improvement.
Yay! You can now see who has scouted you, and who you've scouted!
Well since I'm not MrSaint, I'm not going to bother reading it.
If all I say, create and otherwise do seems familiar to you, know that I'm just a figment of your imagination.
You are dreaming now, and all you experience is fragments of your waking moments put together into something new.
When you awake I will be gone. But your memory of me, will influence your every action.

Ah lost again... But it was fun.
Congrats to the winners! It's well deserved.
I've heard some other good songs here as well, so good job everyone.
Big thanks to BrokenDeck for organizing this. And to Breed, ZStriefel, Maniacs of Noise and Tom Fulp for their time.
Good luck to BPremo with his movie.

It's on.
Happy birthday Camoshark! May you find lots of chocolate eggs!

I already did that. If you do it too, that means they'll be back the way they were right?

In case nobody had noticed, I'm obsessed with deadmau5.
So what did you find in your computer when you created your username?

Me too. Which effects exactly are allowed, and which aren't. What is a "robot" effect? Are you allowed to use a vocoder to make your voice sound like a robot, or does that count as "manipulating your voice pitch using your recording software". What if I use my audio processing software instead of my recording software to manipulate my voice and pitch, is that suddenly allowed? How would the judges know the difference exactly?

That's a difficult subject. The last one was definitely abusive. No doubt about it. But giving 0 stars for something someone put work in is never nice. To give 0 stars you have to press the x mark, and confirm you actually want to give 0 stars, agreeing it might be abusive. If you go out of your way to give 0 stars, but don't give constructive criticism, your review is abusive by default imo. Besides if you look closely I think two of the other reviews are abusive as well. One simply agrees with another definitely abusive review, failing to give constructive criticism and essentially saying the same things as the definitely abusive review. There's another review stating the audio is "worthless". I find that abusive as well. If someone put effort in it, it's never "worthless". It always means something to someone. There's always something good to say about someone's work, and something about how it can be improved. A good review does both. A useless review doesn't try or fails. A review intended only to bring the creator of the work down, is abusive. I count 3 of the later.
But I agree always think for yourself. Don't mark a review as abusive because someone else says so. Only when you agree.

Thanks mate. I already got a deity whistle exactly 5 months after I made my account. Sorry I had to point it out, but I'm very proud of how quick it came. Anyway I always enjoy using my whistle what it is made for. Makes me feel potent. What use is a big whistle if you can't get hard? Hard on I mean. On those naughty people who don't respect their fellow fellows (m/f). They may feel they can get away with everything behind that veil of internet anonymity, but I'll strip them naked and bring my whistle down on their asses.

The soundtracks for Donkey Kong Country 1-3 were composed by David (Dave) Wise. You can download them for free from Dave Wise's last.fm page.
Good stuff. In terms of pure sound quality, they're probably the best soundtracks made for the snes.
You can also download the soundtrack from World of Goo by Kyle Gabler for free. At his own official site.
I like the world of Goo Soundtrack. It has a sort of artistic quality to it, that you don't find in many more commercial games.
ps when I say free download, I mean legally free. No pirated torrents or whatever.

There is a balance I suppose. The basic things in music have already been done, yet will reappear all the time anyway, simply because they sound pleasant. (4/4 measure, melodic minor scale, standard instruments like piano, guitar, drums, etc.) Sometimes you hear something unique, and you're like I want to do something like that too. Often you like to do something that's somewhat refreshing, or perhaps even completely unique.
For me its definitely anything Nobou Uematsu.
I like his work, though I wouldn't say I'm influenced by him much.
Now if the subject is more "what is a really great game soundtrack" rather than "what influenced you the most" that is a whole different subject/rant.
Unless the soundtrack you liked best has influenced you most, which isn't unthinkable. People try to make music they like.
I try not to be too much influenced by other music, and just do my own thing. But when I'm influenced, I take small things from a whole lot of different sources, so no one can tell where I got my inspiration. I've listened to much video game music in my life. Perhaps that influenced me slightly more than other music I listen to. I guess the most influential soundtracks for me are Super Castlevania IV and Seiken Densetu II. Nice compact soundtracks from the time I enjoyed videogames best. Lots of interesting stuff going on there.
