Well, that's how accoustic songs are recorded. No electronic instruments. No amplifiers. No power driven recording devices. No electricity whatsoever. Hence the term "unplugged".

Commenting on the actual acting or the story is much more difficult.

Hello voice actors and other readers,
Together with a friend of mine I'm working on a video game series called "Star Gazer Hank Mankind's Ultimate Pilot" or in short SHMUP. And it will be an eh... SHMUP.
We're currently working on the first game, and we're in need of voice actors m/f. These are the characters:
Good guys: Hank (Main character, hero), Board computer (Important support character, computer voice).
Bad guys: Iron Hawk (first boss. Machine), Torch (Second boss. Machine), Factory (Third boss. Machine. Low, mighty, humming voice, like rock biter from The Never Ending Story film), Steel Eagle (Forth boss. Machine. Similar to Iron Hawk), Shroud (Fifth and final boss. Machine.)
All except one are machine voices. You can deform your voice into a machine voice if you want. We want every voice to sound different, so different ways of deforming are welcome. But you don't have deform your own voice. We can do that too. We're more interested in your voice and acting. So only put effects on your recording if you have some good and original ones.
If you are interested in a role for the game please record the lines below for the role you wish to audition for, and send them to paranodia.abridgent@gmail.com
The lines are:
Hank
This is two thousand sixty six. My home planet Gaia's population growth and pollution issues are sky high. But the resources have reached rock bottom.
(mocking) Hèh. No chance buddy.
(excited long stretched yell) Whooohaaaa!
Board computer
Prepare for landing.
Never produced in a- Holy shit! Behind you!
It is not ours. It's Gaia whose access is blocked. Seemingly our enemy hides the planet from the outside to prevent in or outgoing traffic.
Iron Hawk
This sector is under martial law of the C Force. Submit yourself or die.
Stop him. He cannot escape this sector.
Torch
Did you really think destroying C Force's cannon fodder is impressive?
Turns out someone's all talk.
Factory (Low, mighty, humming voice, a bit like the stone guy from Never Ending Story)
Incorrect serial number, proceed towards gate delta-two for scanning and readjustments.
To all units in the area, intruder detected.
Steel Eagle (Similar to Iron Hawk)
You have destroyed an inferior prototype. You will not survive this encounter.
Built to last.
Shroud
Surely. I have time on hands, so fire away. Figuratively I mean.
Oh you didn't think that we are piloted now did you? Gaia was one of the planets we suspect capable of developing artificial intelligence, and we are here to prevent that.
Now may I ask you yourname?
Hope to hear recordings from you soon.
Good luck,
SJ

I just noticed my previous post was my 333rd post. What a coincidence.

My friends, I believe there is a saboteur in our midst.
Even if it won't affect our scores, it hurts :(
I had the same thing. Not very nice. The first score I got was a 2. Not as bad as a 0 though, but the voter didn't even leave a comment. I'm not sure if it's one of the people here who wants to win, or someone else. Could be anyone really. It happens outside of this contest too, that people get/give scores of 0 when a song is recently published. But I've got the impression it happens more often to voice acting than any other form of audio. I'm sure it wouldn't influence the outcome of the contest though. The ratings here don't mean much. People either get zero bombed or vote themselves up. It's the comments that count. And even those are often meaningless. Oh well. Nothing to do about it. But it shouldn't hinder the competition.

Yours isn't bad either. Winning isn't fun when it's too easy.
All different genres.
Then make a PDF with both pictures and text, and link to that. Or write text and put several links to pictures between the text. You can think of something.

I'll have SEVERAL pictures in a SINGLE thread with text above each individual picture stating the steps to proceed with the tutorial. As you scroll down you see the next picture with another step above that picture.
Alright, so in about halve a week the previous round will be judged, and the new round begins. Hopefully we get the results then. Thanks.

I understand why you where upset for missing a competition suited for you, because you were in the hospital. I get why you were complaining about that. It wasn't very nice to the people who won the contest, because they put a lot of effort in their work. It's nice of you to apologize. I don't hold what happened against you. (I didn't really do that anyway) Hope all is better now.

Congrats to everyone who participated! Glad the entire top 6 was included so I could see I didn't do too bad overall in this competition.

Oh no. That probably goes for the NATA audio contest as well.
Let the judges decide. I think it's a pity he wasn't warned in time to make a new submission. Like people usually are.

Then it's true isn't it?
When I suggested the Experimental and Fusion genres to the "other" section (along with some weirder genres) I intended to write a joke, but I thought a little to hard about it. I suppose other people thought even harder about accepting these genres, so I think it will work anyway. The other genres sound interesting as well. I think it's an improvement.

Thank you for making this.
No, not overall. It helps you better understand what you're doing, making it easier for you to create music, and probably make you more productive. Feel free to stroll from the paved ways though, to create something that's unique. However, to break the rules and still make good music, I think it's helpful to know the rules first and why they're there.

..I suppose I should put up a really "girly" picture and sig, lmao. I've been meaning to change it for a while now but I'm too lazy...
it probably still won't be something gender-specific, though
There isn't much you can do about any of it. I think there are people who's opinion isn't influenced by someone else's gender. Most positive feedback you have to earn by putting effort in what you do, so the attention is mostly deserved. Don't worry about it.
Btw I forgot to add. Often the "She only has many fans because she's a woman." is often just an excuse guys use because they're jealous they're not as well known as they like to be.

Men can't get premenstrual syndrome.
But in all seriousness. I do believe female artists on the internet generally (and newgrounds especially) get more attention than males. Because females are scarcer on newgrounds, most of the other newgrounds users are males, and men give women more attention than other men, or than women give to men. I think though that there are more women on the internet than appears. Many women don't like the attention or they don't want to the way people view their work be influenced by their gender. That's why (I suspect) more women than men don't want to specify their gender on the internet. This is the exact same reason why I don't put an actual photo as my profile picture. I just don't like the idea of hordes of people fapping to my good looks. Do it to my music instead. (ps I probably should make longer songs.)

Listening to obscure music doesn't actually equate to having superior taste, y'know? I don't have a problem with hipsters, I just don't understand their angle.
It's different to everyone I think. I think it's nice to just discover new and actually good music. Some of the obscure bands are a lot more original and interesting than the "mainstream" bands. A lot of people feel the same to a certain degree. I think the word hippster once meant someone who was aware of the current developments in the world of art. Only it the last couple of years it became used as a negativity by people who were jealous or annoyed by people who were more connected to art than they were. They were weird and scary, because they didn't just like the mainstream things everyone was "supposed" to like. On top of that the annoyance was fueled by people who like to act different because they like to feel better than everyone else. That becomes more and more the standard among hipsters. The "new wave" hipsters that only listen to music no one else knows so they can pretend to be more aware and thus, in their minds, better than ordinary people. And some people just like to be hated. They want to be part of a group they know isn't appreciated, so they will receive negative attention. Just my view.
