Sure. I like improvement.
At 12/26/14 08:41 AM, dem0lecule wrote: @SourJovis you are a fucking bad ass! I struggled to make 2 songs a day and you made like 4. Holy shit man!
I made only 2 songs for secret santa 2015. The one I was supposed to make for jaysummers759885 I don't even consider finished. The one I send to Mawnz was a song I've been working on for the last few weeks, and it's just a back-up song for the people who didn't get anything.
The other 4 links are to songs I made earlier (the oldest was for the secret santa 2013) I felt bad for the people who didn't get anything, and these songs look like they fit their demands.
I'm still a very slow writer actually.
@TimandTodd Thanks a lot for your awesome song! It's very interesting and it perfectly fits my demands. I like how it had a christmas/hanukan/holiday theme. Gets me in the mood.
@jaysummers759885 I hope you'll like this song. Not sure what you wanted to hear to be honest, but it's supposed to be ambient with an odd time signature. I wasn't able to finish it mainly because the time signature was hard to work with. It's 1 bar 3/4, 1 bar 4/4 and 2 bars 5/4, then repeat over and over. I'll finish it and add some more memorable parts to it. I'll let you know.
@Mawnz I'm sorry you didn't receive a song. I made something recently that I hope you will like. Here it is. It's not a final boss theme like you wanted. Instead it's an intro theme where you are seduced to press the start button. This theme could ofcourse return in a final boss theme. Just imagine it will. Two yours ago I made this song for the Secret Santa (2012). It's an old song but it meets your demands more. It has the final boss theme and the choirs and such. I plan to remake that song in the near future with more advanced instruments.
@vondirac perhaps you'll like the song I sent Mawnz (too). It has a bit of that Sega Genesis feel you asked for, and it has guitars, but not an FM bass. You could listen to this song which has an prominent FM bass (Yamaha DX7), and also a video game sound. Or you could listen to this song, which has the synth guitars you asked for, and also the Sega Genesis feel, and a catchy synth bass.
@Frootza I hope someoene will create something good for you. In the mean time here's a catchy, laidback song that hopefully you can dance to. It has all electronic instruments that sound very organic and have been played live.
I'm in.
I would like a song that's been made using only one instrument, or at least features one instrument as the centrepiece, and the rest is just support. It's okay and actually very interesting if the one instrument is recorded as several tracks that each serve as a separate layer. Like a monophonic instrument that also acts as a second voice and chords, and is even struck to serve as a percussion instrument even when it usually isn't (like tapping a piano or guitar). It's really nice if the song emphasizes the characteristics of the chosen instrument. I hope you can do something with that.
Black Russians or B52's are my favourites.

At the moment I'm only using Reason. Because of the many limitations it has, I'm thinking about getting an additional DAW. I was thinking about Cubase, but now I see the evaluation you showed, Logic sounds like a better option.
That way I can say "I use Logic and Reason". Has a nice ring to it.

This song is called Kalimba by Andrew Carthy (Mr. Scruff). It's the 11th song on the album Ninja Tuna. It's been used as a demo song for Windows 7.

I'm new to Reason and to composition softwares in general, I got Reason 4,
I'd like to know if there is a way to input music in a music staff , because I mainly write for classical instruments and orchestras. I usually use "Finale" to compose.
Thank you
PS
With "staff" you mean sheet music? There's absolutely no way you can do that in Reason. You can display notes only as "Key Edit" "Drum Edit" and "REX Edit" mode. REX is only usefull for Dr(Octo)REX and "Drum Edit" for "ReDrum". "Key Edit" is for everything (else). You'll get used to the Key Edit mode soon enough. It looks more intuïtively than sheet, and it gives you all of the information you can have regarding performance. Staff leaves much to the interpretation of the performer. The Key Edit mode does not. This gives you 100% control over your music. You'll start to like it soon enough.
Btw if you want to make good sounding orchestral songs in Reason I suggest the Euphonic Strings ReFill, for more lively sounding string sections.
Reason may not be the best program to create orchestral songs in. The orchestral samples have not been updated since version 2.0. That's 12 years ago. You're probably better of getting stuff from EWQL or Orchestral Tools or whatever. It's much more expensive though.

The full title is "Het Motief van de Waterbrengster" but that didn't fit on NG. It means "The Motif/Motive of the Water Bringeress". It's a bit of an old song, but my father liked it, and I still do too. Please play it on the stream. Thank you.
Darn @etherealwinds beat me to it...
Congrats to all of the winners! Also the people that didn't win made some great tracks. Some of my favourite songs didn't win. Good job everyone!
Also here's the NGADM14 Unofficial Ranking List Round 1
Can't stop working on my submission even though it's past the deadline. I should take a break and prepare for next round, in case I get that far. A musician's work is never done.

Are you sure your music never got stolen? Perhaps they've changed the title so you just can't find it. For what it's worth, I think your songs are good enough.
I discover my own songs in the strangest corners of the internet. Covers I made even more than my original songs, since the songs I covered are more popular than my original work, so more people look for the originals of the covers.
I don't know if it's a compliment or not to have your songs stolen, but most of the time there isn't much you can do about it either way, so I don't worry about it. Sometimes people make a little money of it. At first glance that sucks, because I'm the one who did all of the work and get nothing. On the other hand I'm not getting any poorer than I would otherwise, so if at least some people benefit of it, I at least did some people a favour and I should be happy I indirectly helped someone who may really need that money.
I think it's a little sad when people pretend they've ceated a song they didn't. They must really lack the creativity to make something of their own they can be proud of. Be happy you have that creativity and don't worry about things that are out of your control.
Personally I don't think NG 20th aniversary and NGADM should be combined for several reasons
1. NGADM traditionally doesn't have any themes (besides being a death match), so you can't put an aniversary theme on it. Covers of NG classics would be cool for the 20th anniversary, but wouldn't work for NGADM for the reasons Step mentioned before.
2. Only a select number of people makes it to each round of the NGADM, while I think it would be best if anyone can participate in the NG 20th anniversary thing.
Because of reason 2; if you want to combine the 20th anniversary and NGADM, the 20th anniversary theme should be during the audition round of the NGADM so everyone can participate. This probably means you will get a lot less participants for the NGADM than the previous years, since participants can't submit any of their songs like usual, but have a limitation.

It's the top 20 from the current greatest section, set to Range: All, picking only the top song of each artist. Notice this list also inlcudes remixes of songs from well known games like Tetris, Super Mario World and Zelda. I don't know if that's apropriate.
These are the first submissions of the first 20 artists that have not been deleted.

They've all been uploaded on 02/13/2003. Not a lot of classics among them I think, so I'm not sure if it represents 20 years of NG very much.
If anyone needs music, I'll be happy to help out. Here, here and here are some examples of what I have to offer. Good luck to all of you.
