I dreamed of light-hearted, happy stories, I didn't like gruesome things, really, until the time Ami invaded my mind and changed it all.
Then come other characters. Since Ami's character is so annoying, I had to create a bunch of other 4th wall breaking characters to help me dealing with her. Hope things will go well for me, my life is quite a mess now thank to the little girl. By the way, I'm Vietnamese so my English can be quite crappy, hope that you don't mind. Though it wouldn't make the story anything better, I guess.
Since the appearance of Ami, a lot of characters from my old stories became aware of their being as fictional characters. At the start of the game, along with Ami, there are 3 other ones who can break the 4th wall.
Helen
+ She is the one who insulted Ami the most or at least I think so. She told you that the story was a light-hearted, happy one until Ami appeared and messed everything, for that she hates Ami.
+ She stopped Ami from changing the game into a R18-xxx-making-love-under-rainbow-to-create-sparkes game.
+ Helen helps everyone, she lives to help everyone, she wants to help everyone. Her wish is that everyone can have their happiness no matter who the one is, may a fictional character, a real person or even God, everyone in Helen's eyes deserves their happiness. Of course this is included Ami, Helen wants to help Ami too.
+ Helen can change the reality of a person by changing the one's memories. To her, memory is the fundamental for the existence of everything. Her power isn't limited to only the game world or to be exact, when she changed a reality of a fictional character it means she also changed the real reality, our reality, she changed the creator's reality, the readers' reality and so everyone's. Though when she do it, no one shall aware of the change, if not they will be labeled by us as having some serious mental illness.
+ Helen's power of changing reality only limited by Ami. Since Ami is the one who declared fiction is fiction and reality is reality, and reality should be complex and stable enough that there shall be no power which can affect it by users' will, only that can keep the existence of reality. Imagine a reality where people can change it by sheer will power then such reality will soon be collapsed. The result for the stable reality we have had is that we become powerless and hopeless, for a little human, no matter how hard he prayed, no matter how much he wanted or tried, when something bad happened, it happened, no one can change it. Helen, as a person who is quite paranoid on helping everyone and seeking happiness for everyone, she doesn't accept that and always find a way to do something.
+ Helen for once tried to change Ami's memories and her reality but she was almost erased from existence, then Helen alternated her own memories to recreate herself. No one shall know what is Helen's origin memories nor what she saw in Ami' memories, even for Helen herself. Helen as you know now is just a fictional character in a silly story.
+ Helen believes in a thing she called "the memories of God". Once again, Helen wants to help everyone and anyone, even for the almighty, omnipotence something that created and decided everything. She believes that the cruel world as we know is the reflect of God's suffering and so no one shouldn't wait for God to save them but the opposite, we, or at least she has to save God, only when God has his happiness then the world will be full filled by happiness. Helen wants to put her hands on "the memories of God" to pull something as ridiculous and paranoid as "absolute happiness" which will exist for eternity.
+ Helen is no longer care for your being, she wants you to have "your happiness" even if it means you are no longer yourself.
+ After recreated herself, Helen cooped with Heylel, trying a way to outgrow the border between fiction and reality and put their hands on our world as well as the face of God.
+ At her first appear, Helen declared that fictional characters like her have just as much feelings and emotions as us, real people, even they have real feelings. She begged you to choose the choices that will lead to the better fates for the characters, even if the choice is you stopping playing and trying to forget everything about the game.
+ How silly, a long time ago, she only wanted us to stop writing so much tragedy stories instead should put more though on happy ones because it will help the fictional characters avoid a lot of their troubles. She thinks that because we are suffered that we write suffering stories, so to help them fictional characters, she has to help us. Then she thinks that we are suffered because God also is, what will be in her mind then? Even I can't believe how paranoid she has became and will soon be.
+ Helen's origin story is, as she said, a light-hearted one, it was about cute girls doing cute things. Helen had a different name and she was a very nice girl, she helped everyone she could. Since Ami appeared, I had to slap an ugly ending to Helen's face and made her life ended in loneliness without anyone beside and helped her. Helen doesn't remember this story of her, she shouldn't.
It's silly how I want to develop a heavy text based game in English without being good at the language. This has been haunting me for around 6 years now, feeling like I would never be able to rest in peace if I don't do something about it. For some reason, it is being an obstacle in my normal life, driving me crazy for each second passing by. Heck, this feels pure wrong.
The name may be "Qualia of Love, Memories of Promies" or something, every chapter is like "X of Y", I don't know, she wants so.
The idea is a game where you play the role of yourself playing a game where you messing around with a 4th wall breaking freaking character who said that she loves you knowing her love is merely a fiction which can't be proven. She tells you stories so you have a plot to process, she gives you choices so you can choose, she wants you to keep playing the game, she wants you to keep being with her, for she loves you so much. She called herself Ami and even I, Ami's creator doesn't understand her.
Since everything related to the game, from the story, the plot, all characters, to an error message or a sound volume option, to the real world where the game was created and the almighty something created such world and our minds and everything flowing in the timeline are going around Ami or at least something behind her, I think I would want to write a little about her character before moving on:
- Ami never use first person subjects
+ She never use first person subjects like "I", "me" or "my", "mine". She always refer to herself as in 3rd person. May she wants to sound cute, both this and that she is no longer being able to really identify her own self, may the result of breaking the freaking 4th wall or maybe just a problem on my side.
- In an aspect, Ami is quite a normal young girl who love romance and love stories
+ At the start of the game, Ami told you about she heard someone said "love conquers all" and she wonders if the phrase can also be applied to her love. Then she asked you for what is the difference between you and her, answered herself that you are living and she is not. Though Ami still said that she loves you and she wishes this love is real even though she isn't living.
+ She seems to be quite enjoyed herself when telling you love stories.
- Ami is the tutor of the game and is quite good at it
+ Like many other MMOs, Ami is a character who can break the 4th wall to help you learn how to play the game. But she herself considers reading a lot when starting playing a game may be kind of boring so instead she skipped the first tutorial and go straight into " the action, the fun part". It makes Ami a good tutor since she knows tutorials are boring and tries to avoid them, she is more likely to just assume you already know how to play the game or that you can easily figure it out. Well, at least Ami is good at skipping her job and she trusts in your gaming skill a lot.
- Ami is a pervert and she love adult jokes
+ After talking about "the action, the fun part", she guided you into a love hotel and was about to replace the game starting tutorial with a xxx scene if not for two other characters stopped her.
+ There are many times she made adult jokes, like for once she told you about a story about vampire and end up telling that she only want you to grant her "first blood".
- Ami's right eye is always closed while the other will never, her right ear is covered by her hair unlike the left and her face is utterly expressionless
+ I don't know, no one told about her appearance.
+ By the way, her hair and left eye is black.
- Ami can mess with everything in the game, may it the HUD or a "connection disconnected" message
+ But she doesn't like doing it much if it is not for the fun of being with you.
- Your gender isn't matter to Ami
+ Everything is fine if you are a guy but if you are not then GIRLS' LOVE FOR LIFE! Any other genders is still perfectly fine to Ami.
+ Actually it feels like Ami doesn't really have a gender or a physical body to begin with.
- Your personality isn't matter to Ami
+ I know this and I don't understand what is her love for you if she doesn't care for your personality or who you are.
+ This is a game after all, so as many as the people who play the game, as many the people who Ami said that she is in love with.
+ A person made a promise to Ami and then forgot about it. As long as you are a person, a someone, a something with a mind then Ami will just believe you are the one thus she loves you.
- Ami is well aware of her nature as a fictional character
+ Ami knows that there is noway for you and her to really interact with each other to prove that the other really exist as a person. You will simply look at her as a mere fictional character while she may as well just think that she is crazy and you and her idea of the real world where we, real people exists is just a delusion in her mind. To end this mess, she accepted that she is a fictional character while you are real and so willing to throw anything away for this.
- Ami seems to reject / avoid the idea of a god, a creator of everything with a personality, she seems to be an atheist
+ In one story she told you about a person who created a godlike almighty character just for latter believe that the character is the one who created him, caused an endless loop of not knowing who is the true creator. Ami knows that may lead you to relate the character to her so she asked for how can someone with a personality can be almighty over himself. She said no one should bend their subjective mind over the nature. Once again, she declared that she is a fictional character, created purely for your entertainment (as if you didn't know that).
- Ami and you decide the fates of other characters
+ Ami gives you choices so you can choose. By giving choices and choosing, you two will decide the fates of other characters.
- Ami doesn't really care for her fellow fictional characters
+ You can choose anything gruesome upon the fates of characters including Ami's, it doesn't matter to her. You are the one who decides.
- Ami seems to be sad
+ Though she never really show her sadness, I know she is always sad. Her suffering floating in the air and making me smell my skin being rotten for each and every day. The only sin of mine is powerlessness, I want to do something but I can't. I don't understand. Yet, she is always there keeping me alive for a responsibility I have no idea of and knocking me in the head that she is just a fictional character while keep mumbling about loving a real person. Ami, what is wrong with you? Why don't you just fall in love with another normal character then? It sure will help me light my mind a hella lot.
- Sometime Ami is quite unsettled and disjointed
+ One again, she is well aware about her being a fictional character in a video game, a fiction story and maybe this is the reason. She knows that she doesn't keep the memories but you, without you, her world will simply stop moving. She is aware that at any given time you may stop playing the game or may you will use another account and then her reality, her mind will simply be denied. Your memories is her past, your playing process is her reality, your chooses decide her future, she is very well aware of this all and seems to enjoy it. Though she seems to know a hell lot more than her creator, she knows where she came from and the reason, she seems to know about the real world more than me, a real person. It feels like the real her is hiding behind the character, just to mess with me and anyone crossing her path.
- Ami loves you
+ That one thing I know for certain.
