Our winner for reasons obvious (to me at least.) It took the song and melded it into chill, downtempo awesomeness. The delayed, gated saw synth was a BIG part of why this song won- the sound just worked so well with the bass, and the piano in the background was a perfect way to work in the sound of She, and yes, I did recognize how you slowed down the melody massively to work the main part of the song. :D

Do you really have to ask why this got most creative? Really? When Genjo was the first one to submit something related to the contest, I was already excited- the contest was a success at that point. I didn't understand 90% of the vox in this song, but tbh I didn't have to. The melody works so well, and it's amazing how he adapted it into a song that's almost a full 180 degree turn from the original. Masterful work, and to be honest, was a definite competitor for best overall.

Rule 34: If it exists, there are trance remixes of it. No exceptions. This one was also a good competitor for the win, but the main synth was a bit too relatively loud in parts, drowning out the rest of the song. Also, changing up the main melody to fit your own song DID happen, but there was potential here I could feel that went underused. I don't know, it just didn't resonate quite as well with me. Still very well done.

God did I love the bitcrushing in this song. That and the fact that it was so... different made it a good competitor for most creative- it brought out a whole new facet to the song, lo-fi drums were for the win. I really have nothing to say bad about this song except the fact that it just didn't progress much in the way of energy or leitmotif from the original.
But dear god the high piano bits were a CLASSIC addition, and gave the song much soul. This one was a hard decision for me for both best overall and most creative.

It got Top 5 and I'm still unsure as to how... it's at its heart a sped-up midi rip, I hate to say it, but there wasn't all too much brought new to the table. Sure, you dropped a bunch of fat breaks on it, and to be honest they sounded nice, but the song just didn't seem to have all too much new/groundbreaking/innovative in it. What can I say? I could have made this by speeding up She and dropping some well-mastered breaks on it. :p

RyeGuyHead, he's always there but somehow seems to get overlooked- and the electric guitar was quite awesome. I don't know what you did with the choir bit, but I wish I did, because you took the awesome and cranked it to 11 there. Unfortunately, that didn't seem to extend to everything- the guitar was a titch too loud, and I would have loved a facemelting solo- but it wasn't to be. Very well done though. Loved it. :D Fuck yeah RGH and Metal.

If I were to judge this song purely by the lyrics, it would have come across as "FUCKING AWESOME". I really, REALLY want to hear this song properly mastered and finished- I know it was a rush job, but dear GOD don't give up on it. There's SO MUCH HERE that I want to hear. The main problem was the mastering and mixing, but you knew that. Lyrics were great though. :D
Fergy deleted their song before I heard it so... can't really say anything on that. :p
