relating to the war in Iraq, terrorism and insurgents i would like to show this video i have found that shows that not all insurgents are the way they have been portrayed and that some groups are actually fighting for what i consider appropriate reasons. i guess we can have a discussion on a peoples right to fight an occupying force in their homeland. fact is the US and Britain are breaking international laws and no ones doing anything about that.

the best part is that it was easy to get it implemented because of "terrorist threats" but what happens in a few years when the threat has faded? do you think that they will actually get rid of such things as the patriot act? of course not, it was an excuse to get into your private lives and keep a close watch on you, its easier to get things in place during a time of crisis than it is to get them removed later on.

Response to: World Trade Center Building 7 Posted January 12th, 2006 in Politics

well either way, doesn't being the most hated country in the world give you even more reasons to pay attention to possible threats?

ya who really knows, today and yesterday in Montreal it was above 0 C (32f?) and thats really weird considering its usually under -10C. so it could be GW but who knows.
as far as GW goes it could be natural or man-caused, if we caused it we can do something, if its nature (natural temperature changes have occurred often in the planets history) then we can't do much. but whichever it is we should at least try to limit pollution (hint to the US; kyoto)

you maybe right, but from all that i have been able to see is that Iraq did not have the capability or will to attack

If they have them, the US will invade. I mean, Iraq didnt really have any, but they got invaded, right.

ya but what happened to North Korea with its established nuclear program and easier access to North America? i find it extremely suspicious that the US is concentrating on arabic countries who pose little threat to international security and couldn't careless about others that are a more realistic threat (military-wise, not terrorism)

and as far as Israel is concerned, it too has nuclear weapons and could be just as likely to launch a nuke at Iran or other muslim/Arabic countries as Iran is to do the opposite

Response to: All the reasons not to go Posted January 10th, 2006 in Politics

i would like to question what "extending a hand of good will" consists of. did you know that after 9/11 Iran offered its help and services to fight terrorism and what did the US do, it labeled them as part of the axis of evil. prior to this the US had a policy of literally ignoring Iran so i'm having trouble seeing where this "good will is".
theres also the fact that like the Taliban, the Iraqi government was aided into power by the US.
i think the most important point regarding Iraq is that the main reason an invasion was possible was because of 9/11 despite Iraq had almost no connection to the event. Have you noticed how your government has been slowly changing reasons for the war? it started with anti-terrorism and WMDs (both were not there) now those are rarely ever brought up, its become an all important crusade to liberate the Iraqi people.
though i don't agree with the reasons for the invasions i understand that it is impossible to pull out any time soon and to recreate the government, but i think its fair that you are now reaping what you have sown.

norse mythology is one of the greatest things ever, kick ass gods, a hall of warriors, if you die honorably in battle you go there (or maybe they'll even let u in if they burnt u on ur boat at ur funeral) u battle all day and feast and regenerate at night in preperation for the end of time when u will fight the forces of evil. at the final battle (Ragnarok) the overwhelming forces of evil will defeat you and your mighty gods, but only after all the evil has been killed as well, and from the ashes of the old world, a perfect and peaceful new world will arise.

Response to: World Trade Center Building 7 Posted January 9th, 2006 in Politics

...the media? it was an official report looking into why 9/11 happened. your media isn't saying fuck all against your government, its supporting it and instilling paranoia and bullshit after its too late. actions could have been taken, things that shoul've been done were'nt and whos fault is that? the government is supposed to protect the ppl, the terrorists do not stop themselves. Bush had a document siting possible threats in an official report he receives and is supposed to read every morning but he didn't. its his bloody job to do that and consider what to do. maybe if he at least read it and said "nah its not a threat" it wouldn't be that bad, but he didn't. not only that, but when agencies were put on alert the agencies abroad knew what they were looking for, the ones in America were'nt sure what to be on the look out for, were'nt told what to be on the look out for and were'nt told how to react. (these agencies had no prior experience and should have been informed). this brings me to two possible conclusions:
1. everyone in the government is absolutley inept and the safety and well being of millions lies in the hands of morons
2. or the events on 9/11 were allowed to happen by those at the highest most point of power so that they could set in motion their plans
(as for what those plans are i'll let u argue over but they most definetly include Iraq)

Response to: World Trade Center Building 7 Posted January 9th, 2006 in Politics

there was clear knowledge and warning of impending attacks presented to the president but he chose not to read the statement. i think people should look into the 9/11 commission report and make up theyr own conclusions. mine is that the government allowed it to happen to achieve other goals.

as far as building seven, could it have been destroyed to further the events of september 11th like the pentagon, fraud, or coincidence? i'm curious, did people die in it?

to imperator:

i left the training comment because in combat simulation between the US and Canada, the canadian forces beat the americans in tank combat, submarine warfare(don't ask me how) and in a hostage situation (the canadians were not only succesful in retrieving the hostages from the rangers but when the roles were inversed they were able to hold the hostages)
so due to our lack of proper equipement how else can you explain this except through better training

and its vive la France

speaking of which, in WWI it was the french that trained the american troupes before they were sent to fight...but that has nothing to do with this
