I've just noticed some grievous mistakes on my original picture!!! (I even forgot to color the guy's shades!)
So I've changed them and uploaded the picture to my file dump HERE

This is my WIP, I could have some fun on this picture...
I like where this is heading... unfortunately I'm hungry right now.

Now that is a scar. What kind of surgery is that from? I'm going to guess it's from shattering the bones in the arm from a really bad fall.
You have angered the gods, Fulp is displeased.
PM sent, I'm not great at illustrations, but I do know my way around Photoshop.
What program are you using to make this?
If you are using MS Paint... I would try Gimp (similar to Adobe Photoshop) or Inkskape (similar to Adobe Illustrator). Those are much better. If you are using Photoshop I can tell you how to do shading, although I am new to the painting aspect of Photoshop.
Place your head over a bowl of boiling water, and put a towel over your head so that you can easily inhale the steam, this will help your sinuses. If you want to really clear your sinus, just use a neti pot.
As for something that will improve your health... not that I know of other than medications that you inhale.

Bite marks?
When in doubt, lock the thread and watch it wither away.
I have 5 large scars along the right side of my body from when I ate pavement while riding my bicycle to my 8am class at 25mph. Oncoming driver on the wrong side of road + curb = pavement
After much sketching and hand cramps, I've managed to churn out something that resembles "art". I call it "Minibike Gangs". In this apocalyptic world, motorcycle gangs can't afford real choppers so they resort to second-hand mini bikes to get them to their crimes. I'll upload a better quality pic HERE, the compression really hurts after those long hours painstakingly sketching and coloring.

HUGE step forward from sketch to the digital.
Nice coloring!
Sorry, that was me, not the OP, I was practicing with my new tablet. I just wanted to show the OP what could be done with the sketch on the computer. Even then I still messed up the shadows.
I enjoy listening to rock, very little rap, some metal, progressive, a few indie bands, alternative, and some dubstep. I absolutely despise country music and pop.
THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE.
I would fight him to the death.
So let me get this right, you slipped on ice while heading to school, then you either went to school and then came home without washing your hand... or walked back home after falling. You then grabbed your camera/phone and took a picture of your jacked up hand, put said picture onto your computer, and then made a post on NG asking if you should see a doctor. You did all of this with a (supposed) jacked up hand. I almost forgot to mention the time of this post, for me it was 9:33pm (could live...somewhere else I suppose)... This story doesn't seem very likely to me, let alone the single picture and no reply.

In photoshop I used the select color, chose white and then selected inverse, made a new layer from copy. Then on that layer I just went into blending options and did a color overlay of black to thicken the lines a little. You can probably select stroke, but I think that would make the lines a bit too thick. Anyway, I gave up coloring it after a few minutes because I got bored and there was just too much to color! I hope this helps a little...
I want to see what you can do when you put them into photoshop (or whatever you use) and add some life to them.
I personally liked your first picture more than this second version. What you need to do in order to make it look a little better would be to make smooth dark outlines in pen, then erase the pencil under it and then color it. For the shading, I would use a slightly darker color. Something along the lines of this... except the lines should be better and the shading correct.
(I hope you don't mind that I'm using your picture to practice with my new tablet)
He would look something like this.

Plus he'd have to be a goddamn makeup artist to paint his hand like that. He could have just found it on the internet somewhere, though.
I mainly noticed the bruises between his fingers... How does this happen?
Singles Awareness Day is my favorite spring holiday. I get to cook myself a meal and stare longingly into the mirror at my date. The abbreviation is spot on too! (SAD)

Where is the blood coming from? I sideswiped a curb at 25 mph while riding my bike and skid 15 feet on my elbow/knee and you could at least tell where all of the blood came from. This looks like paint and glue. Sorry, but I'll need a little more proof before you make a believer out of me. Maybe try washing off the excess blood so that we can all see the skin damage. Then we can judge by the amount of lacerations wether you should seek medical attention or not.
Mah proof, taken at college, a few months ago right after taking a nice and painful shower to get rid of all of the blood. The road rash actually isn't that bad, I'm lucky I didn't break anything. Show more pics or I don't believe you.

Q: How many hipsters does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
A: It's an obscure number, you've probably never heard of it.
And yes, I knew about this joke before it was popular.
