So do you want us to re-post our pictures along with a brief explanation? Or will a link to the dump for each of the pictures along with an explanation right after the links work?

he has a way with them fingers... ;)

i havent actually watched them yet, but considering who todd mcfarlane is, i assumed theyd have to be some kind of good

They are really good for complete novices like myself. They focus on the anatomy of the face (last 2), first one talks about photoshop and preset brushes. Really amazed me how fast he can work, and how good his sketches turned out.

This better? I still have yet to perfect/attempt facial anatomy.... I still have stuff to add to it, but this is how it should look.

In addition to this, do you expect people to line up for the opportunity to do art for you if you don't even bother to mention in this post what they are expected to draw? Usually on the art forum, people like to have as much information as possible so that they can decide if they want to even bother with something like this. If you don't, you end up with something like this... or this, or even this. Although those are all logos, the same goes for concept art.

Btw the base was achieved in part by a friend, I had forgotten that clarification :c.

A new drawing finished this morning, I spend 4-5 hours on this ( painter <3), It is somewhat inspired by dead space (a very very little).

I love the style of this, i wouldn't mind being able to paint like this... As it was said earlier, the heart just doesn't make much sense in the context of a scene like this. Maybe you could add a picture in the speech bubble in addition to the heart, such as heart+explosion or heart+skull. Just my thoughts on the matter.

Also, have you thought about submitting some art to the Artpocalypse Now: Art Collab? I think your style would be great in that collab.

Something that I'm working on... I thought of it while not studying for a midterm tomorrow morning... I may end up changing the angle / what gets chopped off...

Keep in mind this is a very VERY rough sketch of my idea.

I'm not sure many people in here are proficient enough with photoshop to help you out. I know my way around photoshop, but your situation still confuses me a little. The adjustment layer should change how all the layers below it look as well, unless you change some settings around. I'm still a bit confused at your situation, but I found this conversation while attempting to figure out your perplexing situation. I think it might help some, but I'm not 100% about it.

Here is my entry to this weeks Flood the Portal Friday... The theme for the friday was GREEN, yes green. We had to make a picture as close/loosely based on either the color green, or the link (I chose the link just incase you didn't notice).

Personally, I think my picture has everything in it, childhood memories, green, suicide, gold, rainbows, cartoon suns, funky lettering, it can even represent St. Patrick's Day (kinda).

Also, I want to thank the people who offered to scout me. I would also like to thank God, for without him I would hath not the strength in they hands to wield thy tablet pen. I want to also thank my parents who raised me, and taught me to control the demons inside of me who, without restraint, would burst through my skull and into the internet and unleash a ravenous hellfire (virus) that would threaten to destroy all of humanity as we know it today. Finally, I want to thank Toast-Tony and silversunned for the offers.

I'm a little unsure about the background, right now it looks like... it's infront of him? I don't know if this is what you were going for, but I think it would look better behind him. I'm also not a huge fan of such a distracting background either. I also noticed that the light source may be off a little, I'm not 100% on light-sources and shadows, but it looks like the light is coming from above and slightly in front of him, so shouldn't his body/face be lit up a little bit more? Could this be... the stud muffin's distant cousin?

These are just a few of my thoughts.

Or you could try some nit-grit. I'm not a huge fan of this genre of music, but I do listen to it, along with many other genres, on occasion.

oooh! Diggin' it!!! The font is awesome!! ...what is it??!

The 1 reads as a Y to me, but I really like the idea of it. You could probably use an actual 1 there and have the hand as a stand alone element off to one side. Might also want to tighten the kerning between the R and O.

How about dis? Made the base for the arm thicker, so now its less of a Y shape and more of a I with a slight cut out of the top.

Also, the font is called Kilogram by KallerGraphics... I found it on This Website... I fell in love with the shapes and that amazing red on black color scheme. The reason the kerning was off between the R and O was that if you hold shift, you get a slightly different letter than not holding shift (not caps, different styles) I liked the lowercase R on the left and uppercase OC.

I need a logo.

I think he wants the attention. It also seems like he created an alt account for the purpose of commenting on his own picture in the art portal.
LOLOLOL no WOW sorry I'm not that desperate for art attention to make an Alternate account. Nice try though, my reasoning is simple, what's the point of being on an art forum if you can't at least get your art out and about and let everyone see it instead of just the people that simply Stumble upon it? Anyways Sorry to cause such a commotion I'll just stick to my own area then. (and once again you misunderstand me) I didn't say there wasn't meaning either, I just said the designs are to simple for my likings, (PERSONAL OPINION!) because having a personal opinion is Obviously against the law in this part of the world.

I knew that account wasn't you (it was made last year for one), but I guess it's an unwritten rule that an art thread is basically the domain/home of the user (I'm also new to this). You wouldn't just walk into a neighbor's house during an open-house and say "hey, your couch looks a little saggy, lucky for you I brought one from home", and drop it in the middle of the room. Although, that would make for an interesting conversation starter...

I guess my response to you was a combination of annoyance (happened once already), and anger (construction literally RIGHT outside my window at 7am, PIC OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN - sure thing). Since I couldn't get back to sleep due to the giant jackhammer/pair of concrete saws, and my first class of the day wasn't until 9:30, I decided to make a lengthy post with an abstract piece of art.

As I said earlier, lets get this derailed art thread back on track and ignore what happened earlier.

its cool, but dont you think the planets could be... round? they were hand-drawn, which is appreciated, but they look really shaky and lopsided.
I see you used the circle tool for the sun; the planets deserve to be round too!
I also think you could try and make them more proportional. I understand the sun probably wouldn't fit, but they planets could be smaller and more spaced apart.
Looks good though ;)

I didn't see your post until just now, I guess I was kind of distracted...
Anyway, I shrunk and spaced out the planets, but kept the sketchy look of the circles. I've also gotten rid of the outline for the sun, and added in some sun flares and increased the size of the sun.

Ok, as of this post, 2 out of his 10 posts contain his art in other people's art threads...
Now, I can understand why he wants exposure, but I would appreciate it if he kept his art out of other people's personal art threads. I would appreciate it if people could stop posting their art/other works of art in my thread unless it is used as an example of how to improve a certain aspect of one of my pictures. If someone chooses to post a picture as a helpful example, please post it as a link so that people don't see it and mistake it as mine.

As for the general use of this thread, lets get back on track and focus on the pictures and not the unrelated conversations.
