Topic: Do You Think Musicians...

Posted: 08/01/07 12:48 PM

Forum: General

I listen to my music ALL THE FUCKING TIME. I am my own biggest fan (but I'm also my harshest critic). I don't think it's strange because I wouldn't make music I don't enjoy, so if I enjoy it, why not listen to it? It's so far from strange.

At 8/1/07 12:43 PM, Taime wrote: I doubt they would listen to it for pleasure, but I could see them listening to it so they could evaluate their music and see how they could improve.

I listen to it for both of those reasons. Why not for pleasure? Don't you think a musician would make music that (s)he likes?

How can a person who makes music expect to move anybody else with their music if they don't move themselves?

It sucks. The title of this episode is wrong, because you don't actually explain HOW he thought up NG, you just show him talking about it.

Why he is with you, I have no idea.

I think it's pretty bad when you have to write your characters' names on their shirts. Try to be a better writer/artist and that won't be necessary.

If you're going to do a one frame comic, it's got to be pretty funny. This wasn't the case.

I guess my biggest problem with your comic is that it required no talent, wit, skill, or even thought. You just threw something together that any mindless NGer could have in a minute or two.

Yeah you HATE TECHNO (as shown through your favorite song - pic below). The thing is, you've got to learn to accept that people have different tastes.

The song sucks, by the way. That is shit techno.

If you don't like techno, you don't have to listen to it. Everyone's got their different musical tastes, and techno just isn't for you.

You don't have the right to denounce just because you dislike it. Sure, there's a lot of shit techno out there, but there's also a lot of good stuff.

As it will be said a million times: Your opinion.

Anyways, I don't see why you techno would get you so aggravated. It's not shoved in your face like rap or emo (and because of that they are more commonly ranted about).

ALSO - You hate techno and this is your favorite audio submission? I don't see any musical or comedic value to that piece of audio.

It's not full protein though. You're still not as proteinalyzed as you would be eating beef or chicken or cat or whatever.

Proteinalyzed? Full protein?

Inform yourself.

It's either that, for taste disagreement, or health reasons and/or diets.

My mother, sister, girlfriend, and girlfriend's family are all vegetarians (some vegan's in my girlfriend's family, too). My mother and girlfriend do it for moral reasons (my girlfriend was raised as a vegetarian and my mother choose to be one when she was a teenager), but my sister only became one recently and did it for health reasons.

Aw, you're so cute and lonely ^_^

Love is worth it; It's worth the pain and hardships because the high is so great. Keep on having one night stands, empty relationships and the like, and you'll eventually feel like something is missing.

I'm not saying love is for everyone, but everyone is capable of loving. Whether or not you feel like you're ready for it is something else.

WELL if i wanted to link it to there then i would BUT i want to link it to 1 song.

What song do you want to link to? Just browse through your songs (here), click on the one you want, and copy/paste the URL of the song into the optional URL part of your Forum signature options.

At 7/26/07 02:57 PM, absent wrote: That's because you can only have up to 45 characters for the URL in your sig.

But that's an old link to his audio; that's why it didn't work. The new links are different. They should work because they're under 45 characters - they go by ID number. They look like this:

http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/8 9070

</shamelesswhoring>

They should really change that, 45 is really nothing when linking.

True.

I made this one yesterday:

niggga stole my remix

It's my rendition of the bike song in Punch-Out! I had a lot of fun making it. The intro of the song, which I wanted to keep 8-bit as homage to the original, was completely recreated (I wasn't going to put the original in there for obvious reasons, and besides, it's more fun this way :D).

Check it out if you're an old school NES or Punch-Out! fan or if you've just got some time to kill.

You could make one for yourself with Paint, Flash, Photoshop, or whatever you've got. The page to edit it is here. It needs to be 770 pixels wide by 40-100 pixels high.

If you don't have skills enough to make your own, I'm sure you could find somebody who'd make you one in this thread. I know it's a sig makers thread, but I expect they're willing to do other things as long as you are polite and patient. Be sure to read the first post before making your request.

Good luck.

I think it's time you invest in a DVD drive. They're not even very expensive nowadays. I believe you can pick one up for under a hundred bucks, but I can't be bothered to check right now.

That's an interesting question.

I think I'd go quite far for NG. It's really the only website I frequent and am an active member of. It would be sad to see NG have to go. I've spent a lot of time here.

I don't know if I can come up with exactly what I would do to save it; maybe write some letters, sign some petitions, donate some cash, protest at gatherings, do some coke off a hooker's ass, etc. Typical 'save a website' stuff.

Awesome find. I had a great time watching/interacting with all that stuff.. I gave several minutes to playing with the menu alone.

I downloaded Variasound and Variascape. Both were interesting, but the Variascape one was just kind of pretty to look at for a few seconds. Not much entertainment value. Variasound, on the other hand, actually quite fun. I'm having a good time messing around with it.

I love the really glitchy pieces which are featured on the site. Creepy.

There's all kinds of neat shit here, but you probably notice what you enjoy most.

It's a little too bright for my liking. I don't particularly like the way the colors blend with NG's design, either. It's not poorly made or anything, though.

Also, somehow the quality doesn't seem to be very good. It looks kind of blurred to me. Maybe I'm wrong. Either that or I just love mine too much to appreciate yours.

It's decent. Just decent.
