3.93 / 5.00 4,634 ViewsHow does one write well? :D Are writers born from nothing? Wow does one find the essence of meaning, woven in ink, bound in the mind. Not pap mind you (which is all fine and dandy) on a Saturday morning, writing, which invokes thought? Any ideas on how to keep the audience engaged without divulging too much of the plot? How does one remain surreptitious without spiraling out into the mundane and mediocre prose that is so dry I have to stop and get a drink just to get through?
Now, does the story need to be tied directly to the dwelling in question; or, can it just be a central setting and kinda sit off to the side when it comes to dialogue? Indeed, 4000 words while daunting at first glance while there be enough space to fit in a full cast, or maybe develop fewer characters with greater emphasis on the setting (or if your building is the main character) as such? Overall quality, depth, rhetoric, and dialogue. Versus outright ambiance of the setting manifested.
Is anything really being said or is it all babble? Write an outline, but if the foundation is flawed, cracked, skewed to begin with then whole work would be for naught? How does one reveal their hand without actually doing so as to risk being undermined later on? It comes down to doing it for the sake of the art rather than the competition. There is not better way to learn than through trial and error.
So I went down to the Renton Fry's and got me one of these

Ummm so yeah the idea is write a paragraph (up to 13 sentences) and then someone else will write one and it has to be part of the same story.
Just trying to see if the community can come up with something really great.

In small town there lived a man named Rob. Now Rob was not like any other for a man of his age. At first glance one would say he was in his late 20's; although those closest to him would know that he nearing 36. He had cool brown hair, like that of a Kodiak bear. He was a fair sized man around 5'10 he has a well structured face, although to some he looked like a chimp. You would never see his cheekbones because he ate well and it showed ever so slightly in his face and in his growing ponch. Now like the people of his time Rob was a man of reason, calm and collected, at least most of the time. In public he maintained an image of social responsibility if on foot he would look both ways before crossing the street upon meeting a beggar he might strike up a conversation, bless them and send them on their way with or without alms. On the road he signaled and stopped at all the lights. He spoke with a firm and attentive voice with the language most befitting of the modern man.
Is there a specific motherboard I should have? How about the size and quality of the monitor?
When it comes to spending money.
Serious Business

So we aren't talking an arm and a leg here (maybe a foot), or just switch teams and grab myself a mac: I currently have a junker laptop (I still love you baby) that I've pretty much run into the ground, my concern was that CS was going to be a resource hungry monster. So, as long as I have 6-8 Gb or ram 1GB reliable graphics card a fast enough processor i5 or maybe i7 (if I can scrounge those pennies from under the couch) and maybe a TB or save space I should be good to go starting out.
I have no Idea what kind of computer I should get for Flash CS6; I don't really want to spend an arm and a leg up to $1000 just on the tower. It doesn't really look like a resource hungry application although I don't want to dump a lot of money into a system a. because I don't have money to blow b. even if I do and my performance will bottleneck (restricted?) I won't be able to get a refund, (probably).
