Yeah, casually bring it up to her and if she reacts to it, in a negative way, you should talk to the kid. But you don't need to kick his ass.

I don't think thats a good comeback. They were prolly just thinking, "wth, that makes no sense". You can't just say something random, you have to say something that is actually clever.

Casual Collective is the site ran by the creators of desktop tower defense and the original flash tower defense game. They are very trusted, I haven't worked with them but I know it is not a scam. 1000 for a non exclusive is a very good deal, most people don't get that for an exclusive deal, so I would take it.

Mochiads wasn't around at that time, so I didn't use it, and the agreement between me and MaxGames prevents me from adding it now. I believe that I mentioned it in the very first post of this thread, so I guess it can't hurt to say it now as well, that the sponsorship was on $750. At that time the amount surpassed my expectations by far, but if I had been using MochiAds and it still got the same amount of views I would have earned quite a bit more :P I never expected the game to get such a big impact though, I believe that much of it is thanks to MaxGames, and thereby it's not safe to say that I for sure would have earned more with Mochiads.

Wow 13 mill.. On mochi ads you get like 400 bucks per million views. So you might have gotten like $5.2k on Mochi ads if you had it on.

For me a big part of choosing a sponsor is havign them distribute my game well, so thanks for your replies.

DreamworkX: If you want you could put your Mochi bot stats link on this discussion. Im collecting a bunch of links so I can see what site gives the most plays on average.

However they haven't got back to me since 4 days ago..

Send them another email, maybe it got stuck in their junk mail, maybe they are very busy too so wait another 4 days after u send them another email.

not really any of those. Military style is the best out of those ones, but it would be slick if you could come up with another type. Be creative, the guy who made Desktop Tower defense had a very good original idea.

Maybe a tower defense drawn entirely ON PAPER?! Sketchy units, cool other stuff, etc.

Yea, you have a good point there. I personally think that the whole desktop style is what made DTD so much fun. I think Im gunna go all out on this game. I have no time limit, money isn't an issue, so I can focus on making it as much fun as possible. Alot of upgrades and towers, and i'll have to think about the style im going to do. That whole sketchy paper type thing sounds really cool. There was a pacman remake with a sketchy feel and it made the whole game fun. Now I got a whole bunch of ideas running through my head :)

It all depends on what suits you and which you want to make. On that note, what I like in a tower defense is lots of complexities, such as upgrades, different baddies, etc. Don't make it really simple, but have it full of levels and different challenges.

Thanks for your input. As for being more in detail, Im shooting more for a top down tower defense game where you are defending a central base.

Also, what time period or feel do you prefer to have when playing a TD game? Like Medieval, Futuristic, Military styled, Samurai-japan, etc.

Hi,

I am thinking about making another Tower defense type game. I have experience in this area since Ive made flash empires 1 and 2.
But I was just wondering what you guys like in tower defense games? What elements would make you want to keep playing? What things cross your mind as you play other TD games and think it would be sweet if they did this.

Hope to hear from you guys!

Yeah, I doubt he stole your work. Sometimes your email get's put into the junk mail pile and they don't see it, so it's a good idea to send it again if they do not reply back in a few days. Another possibility is that they just aren't interested. Most of the time a portal will tell you if they are not interested but they are very busy and don't get to all of them.

Im not sure why flash ninja clan didn't answer, he usually answers VERY fast, like within the minutes.

But once you make one good game that gets popular I think sites will reply if they aren't interested in one of your games because they want to make sure you will come back to them if you have anymore games.

The biggest part of getting a good deal is just sending out your game to as many sites as you can. Not just the main few, because you will be surprised what kind of deals some of the smaller sites give. But it is a good idea to put your game up on a private URL and site lock it just incase a site decides to steal it. Ive never had that happen and doubt that it would happen, but do it if your going to be sending it to sites that sponsor but have no good reputation.

Anyways that was my feelings on everything, take it or leave it :)

KONGREGATE REVIEW

Ok, so I just finished a deal with kongregate, and I must say that I was pretty happy. He was very nice to talk to and seemed very professional. The money was pretty good aswell, not THE best, but I took his offer because he had some great benifits, like being able to use mochi ads, and the allowance of being able to have sites license your game.

All in all, I think kongregate is a very good sponsor.

Most of them do, it's just some of them have them in very hard to find places.

Ill have a review on kongregate soon, im working on a sponsorship with him.

Ps: I worked with flashninjaclan again too, and they can sponsor for quite a bit as opposed to what I previously thought. I think everyone trying to get a game sponsored should contact him, he is VERY fast at emailing back, it's almost like aim, and he goes to great lengths to get your game distributed.

Also, I didn't ever finish a deal with hallpass, but from the time I was talking to him, it seemed to me that he would be a good sponsor. he is fast as well, and is easy to talk too, yet professional.

Sorry for all the grammer mistakes, i was typing fast.

Anyone know how long it takes for armor games, kongregate or crazy monkey game to answer a sponsorship request? I sent one out to all 3 on a friday and its now a sunday, I know it's only been 3 days but I would still like to know, Thanks.

SponsorShip review of Mofunzone.com

They are pretty good, but it seems like I could never get in contact with them, they did give me the highest offer but because it was so hard to contact them I went with a lower offer. I can't say they are bad because maybe they were realllly busy or something, and that happens alot where one time you can talk to them easily and another time it talks 3 days per message, but I was dissapointed.

So I would rate them around a 2.5/5

Flash Ninja Clan.com

My last sponsorship deal went very well. The person sponsoring was EXTREMELY fast, answered me within 30 minutes or less from the time I sent him the game. He was very easy to talked to and flexible, and I had no problems getting my money or anything. It is good for a game that would be worth up to 500 dollars, and he allows Mochi ads.

Summary:
I highly recommend Flash Ninja Clan.com, fast and reliable.
