I have decided to switch away from Firefox for a couple reasons. It is a bit insane that it takes as long as it does to load. Even with 6 GB of triple channel memory and an Intel Core i7 processor, Firefox under performs. It takes quite a while to load compared to other browsers. This has been the case even with almost no extensions installed in it. Opera and Internet Explorer are just plain faster on my machine running Windows 7 Home Premium. Here were my options:
Internet Explorer - I am not switching to this for many reasons. The main reason is that it is very vulnerable to getting screwed up by spyware and such. For launch speed though, it is tough to beat.
Opera - I am switching to this one because I have tried the 9.10 beta. It is undoubtedly one of the best browsers I've seen and used. It has excellent features such as Unite. On top if this, it has launch speeds comparable to Internet Explorer.
It was true at one point in time, that Opera was not compatible with nearly as much as FF and IE. However, this seems to no longer be the case. In fact, Newgrounds does much nicer on Opera because of its turbo mode. Since switching I have gained a lot better performance on most websites.
