Actually, Half Life 1 is around 2000 while Hl2 is in 2020. Portal is somewhere inbetween, but nothing specific yet.

The other scientists were probably killed during the Combine invasion, while Barney survived. As for Shepard, I don't think we'll be seeing him for awhile. The G-man imprisoned him so no harm could come to Adrian, and Adrian could do no harm to anyone else.

Gordon Freeman was put in statis for his skills, Shepard was imprisoned to keep his mouth shut to the public, and so he couldn't do any harm.

Crash Course wasn't scrapped when they released the game you moron. Valve simply made it to give people who didn't have much time quick, short 30 minute Versus matches.

And Survival mode is fun too. "Oh boo hoo I die in survival mode, Valve sucks."

Valve isn't doing anything wrong. It's half of the L4D2 Steam Forum that cries because they either suck at the game, or angry about Valve taking out some feature. Valve took out things for reasons because they saw fit, or the playtesters didn't like it.

Valve is great, the community....is horrible.

If there's a 3 foot fence in your way you could easily climb over, the game insists you take the more dangerous/longer route.

Campaigns are comprised of maps, there were 4 maps in the original game, each campaign had 5 maps. That's 20 maps, the new game has 25 maps.
