It is an update, not a redesign. It is more for fine tuning and tweaking than an all together revamp.
With Kinect on its way the Xbox 360 dashboard is going to get a bit of an update. It's not as dramatic as the 2008 update, but more of a fine tuning the current dashboard. While the update is meant for the use of Kinect, everybody will be getting the update and you don't need Kinect to use it. Kinect simply can't operate on the current dashboard setup.
Here is a video of the beta version of the dashboard update.
This will probably be removed eventually. If it is I will try and find another copy.
Here are some pictures of the new dashboard.
Some of the things you can look forward to:
-Faster loading.
-Avatars to become more "realistic"
-Xbox LIVE voice chat to become a lot clearer.
-More to come as the details fill in.
Feel free to post more information, pictures and videos as they come. Do you guys like where they are going with this update? Do you like the current one better? Or are you still bitter over having to change from the original Xbox 360 dashboard?

It is the full retail game, Halo: Reach has been completed. The game was hacked off of Microsoft servers and then pirated like crazy. There were also around 100 copies of Halo: Reach stolen from the production factory.
Sure Halo: Reach will still sell amazingly, but they have every right to be pissed and ban people. The only way you could have gotten a copy of the game was to either download it illegally, or physically steal a copy. Unless you're in the press in which case they were given access to the game to review it. The leak wasn't from them though, it was traced to Microsoft servers being hacked.

Well no shit. Any sane Halo fan is going to get Reach considering it might be the best Halo since Halo: Combat Evolved.

I'll be sure to buy it as soon as I can. As for BattleBlock Theater, hopefully the wait won't be as long as it was for Castle Crashers.
Oh definitely better late than never, it just shouldn't have been this long of a wait. Sony should have never rejected the idea of Castle Crashers in the first place.

It was a lot better than Alien Hominid which was a pretty bad game for the consoles IMO. The main thing they got wrong with Castle Crashers was that the online did not work and there were too many glitches to exploit that ruined the leaderboards and the process of leveling up.

Its all inaccurate and slow, so if the move can mimickt he speed and precision of the mouse I might use it.
I'm sticking with Dualshock 3.
Also, Multiplayer will have giant Mechs, jetpacks, experience system, and classes just like in KZ2.
I agree, and a mouse would be even better than the Sixaxis and Move. Motion controls aren't going to hit hard on "hardcore" games.
Sure. Just PM me your Social Security number and your mother's credit card information and I'll be sure to hook you up with it.

I'm not sure if you know this but Subway and Sony have teamed up to promote PlayStation 3/Move/3D and all that jazz. They're essentially giving out these stickers at Subway with codes on them in which you can win "the latest in active gaming and entertainment technology, including: PlayStation Move motion controller software bundles; collector's edition boxes of Gran Turismo® 5 and LittleBigPlanet%u21222 as well as UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves%u2122 Fortune Hunter Edition; Sony Bravia 3D TV and HDTV entertainment packs; PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) entertainment packs that include a movie, game and PSP® 3000, and Sony Bloggie Cameras, among other exciting prizes."
Here's the catch, I work at Subway and have a shitload of stickers/codes lying around. I don't have too much of an interest but I'd be more than happy to hook you guys up with some codes. I'll see what I can do.
Go go go go.

You posted at the same time as me haha. It's not going to be on the PlayStation, are you sure?
I hope it is on the Xbox 360/PS3. I will pick it up almost immediately if so.

Isn't there some form of Halo coming out for the Windows phone OS or something? I don't think its Halo: CE, but I believe its something Halo related.
I read about Halo: Waypoint for the Windows 7 phones but no actual Halo game as of yet. Waypoint (as of now) is just the hot spot for all the Halo information and news. I read an article a long time ago about how it could potentially become a game eventually though. It does have achievements already.

Probably a Mortal Kombat collection coming to the PS3 later this year. I assume it'll come out on both the PS3 and 360, seeing as the new MK is multiplatform.

But I'm skeptical as to how well this game will sell on the PS3. It's coming out a year after its debut, without the prequel on the same system. Besides, a lot of people that wanted it badly probably just got it for the PC if they didn't have an xbox.
But yea, this pretty much means all the xbox has in terms of exclusives is Halo, Gears, and Fable.
I can't believe I'm posting in this idiots troll thread, but this post pulled me in. The fact of the matter is that Mass Effect 1 will never be coming to the PlayStation. This is because Microsoft has the publishing rights to the game. Bioware has a tough road a head because they have to explain what happened in the first one somehow. I'm sure they will pull it off and do it in some cool innovative way though.
If you look at BioShock it was released first on the Xbox 360 and sold roughly 2.5 million copies. The same game released a little under a year later sold under a million copies. The same effect carried over when BioShock to released, the Xbox 360 version vastly outsold its PS3 counterpart. This is mainly due to the fact that the series was born and raised on the Xbox 360. A lot of PS3 people never tried the first BioShock and the ones that did were a small percentage. Mass Effect runs the risk of running into the same problem but with another challenge, trying to do it all without releasing the first installment of the series.
I think I would much rather have Mass Effect in 2007 and Mass Effect 2 in 2010 than just Mass Effect 2 in 2011.
Also, get the PC version. It is superior to all other copies and always will be. Mass Effect was never exclusive to the 360, it just wasn't on the PS3.

Saw it earlier. Need this game A.S.A.P.
About time Mass Effect came to the PlayStation 3. I think I would rather have ME1 in 2007 and ME2 in 2010 than have just ME2 in 2011 with bonus content but no ME1. But who knows, the first ME was a beautiful mess so if they can do something cool and integrate the first game into the second in a different more polished way it could work. Told you it was coming Yoku ;)

Will be replaced with 160 and 320 gig respectively. Will also retain the same price tag, so there will probably be a price drop on the 120 gig and 250 gig models.
Euh, they need to start making more significant differences with the new models other than just upgrade the HDD size. This goes for the Xbox 360 as well, but the PS3 is a bit pointless to worry about HDD size when they're big enough as it is and you can easily buy a cheap 3rd part HDD of much bigger size and not worry about it. I guess they bank on most people not knowing how to do that and will just buy a new PS3 to upgrade because it is new and they feel more HDD will do them better even though they probably won't use most of it.
I also heard some rumors of Mass Effect and Left 4 Dead series might be having some announcements for the PS3 this week. It's all speculation but I wouldn't be surprised.

There's no way this is going to have good reviews/sell well. It will be ported to other systems within 6 months to a year more than likely.

Not really a stupid thing to say. Based on the original BioShock you can expect a certain standard. The trailer looked more like a Dreamworks trailer than an actual game. Of course the game could be exactly that of the trailer, but most likely not and I'm betting on that.
I don't think the trailer did the game justice, I hope it will be a lot better.I'm highly interested, but at the same time I hope they don't do a bunch of spin offs of the BioShock franchise.
I didn't like the Shrek-like look to the trailer. Especially when the chick got pulled away it looked like a Skrek scene to me.
