I wonder if this will break the record for most downloaded PSN game. Currently the PS3's highest selling arcade game has sold "only" 400,000+. Considering Castle Crashers is one of the highest rated and most downloaded games on XBLA with over 1 million+ downloads.
Lets see if it can break records on two consoles :o
There is no word for the European release date as of yet. However, if you have an American friend that is willing to game share with you, you could possible get the game that way. I do believe CC is region free.
I don't have it on Steam, but I do have it on Xbox LIVE if anyone wants to play me. I have Worms and Worms 2 but I really didn't like two.

I have actually yet to customize my team name and players. I should probably stop being lame and do that.

Don't dig the buttons, dpad i'll have to wait and see but has potential, what I do like is the black outlining though and what may have been actual metal on the guide button. Looks cool.
The Guide button is chrome. The new Xbox 360 S comes with a chrome guide button for the guide as well.
Here is a better look: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDuz0rVDV YU
The guy talking "Brian Pumper" is now a "rapper" trying to make it in the game. He is constantly humiliated amongst the other rappers.
I really dislike the new color scheme as well. I hope they start packaging a "colored" version of this controller with all new Xbox 360s soon.
It is available in "shit" America for download right now. I believe the same goes for the UK. As far as I know the delay only takes place in Japan.

So why are people complaining at this? It's because they're whiney shits who feel that $10 dollars per year is too much.
Let's say the average life of your console (before it breaks and you don't repair, get bored, sell it, whatever), is four years. That's forty dollars. FORTY FUCKING BUCKS extra. For four years of online play? Jesus christ I know it's a recession but seriously guys?
And seriously ps3fags, drop it. On amazon.co.uk a 250GB xbox is £120 less than a 250GB ps3, that's worth 3 years of xbox live (4 if you shop around a bit). They balance out.
So shut up.
I see what you're saying and I agree with you that it is inexpensive, but that's not the reason why I'm a bit moved by this.
I'm fine with Microsoft offering a service where you pay "X" amount for "X" services but one of the "services" that should be free is online play. Considering the Wii and PS3 both have online play for free it is a bit unacceptable. Not to mention what are we paying for? In most games I'm hosting the match on my own Xbox. I'm now paying $60 a year to host a game on my own Xbox, it should be free.
Having said that though, the idiot one minded people who say that a lot of people are going to switch over, they're not. Most people bitching will stay subscribed (myself) and a lot of the postings on the internet are PS3 fanboys trying to capitalize on this to make the other console look bad. Xbox LIVE launched in 2002 for $50 a year and literally all you were paying for was online play. Now in 2010 you're paying $10 more than that but you have a shit ton more features. It's not that it isn't affordable or doesn't make sense from Microsoft's stand point, it's just that they shouldn't charge to play online.
Not to mention most gamers don't pay the full $50 anyway. You can find deals and promotions online where LIVE is like $30.00 tops. Amazon, DELL, Toys 'R' Us and Best Buy have sales like this all the time.

Crazy Taxi is announced too but no release date as of yet.
Today Microsoft announced the new Xbox 360 controller. The main things changed are the D-Pad and the aesthetic look to the controller. There are some other minor changes but nothing too noteworthy.
It will be available for $64.99 and will only be bundled with the Play and Charge Kit as of now.

Personally I liked the button colors on the original Xbox 360 controller, but I'm glad they finally changed the D-pad.

It doesn't have much to do with Reach at all actually. It's because the launch of the 360 and the price cut on the old models the sales have sky rocketed. Most people that like Halo already have a 360 so there will only be a "minor" bump in usual 360 sales when Halo: Reach comes out. That and you add Kinect which is bringing in a lot of new people to buy a 360 or pre order it.

Microsoft employee 2 "Raise the price on a feature that we are currently the only ones to charge for in this console war."
Considering Microsoft is a PC company first, people moving to PC isn't really moving to competition for them. I also don't think there was a huge audience ditching the 360 for the PS3. Most people are going multiplatform. The 360 is the hottest selling console right now.
I don't think this will hinder the sales of Halo: Reach very much at all. The price hike doesn't hit until 3 days before the launch of Kinect. If anything a lot of people will buy Xbox LIVE gold subscriptions now before they go up in price. The strategy they're using is they know they can increase the price of the service, people will bitch and the vast majority of them will continue to pay for the service. In fact, I bet the subscriptions will be up YoY because of the Kinect rush and the price increase before Halo: Reach.
I'm not saying I agree with it at all, I can just see where they are going. Microsoft sent out an e-mail to anyone with an Xbox LIVE account telling them about the impending price hike. They are actually encouraging people to upgrade to XBL for $39.99 for a "limited time only" before the price hike. They're trying to sucker more users out of all this.
Here is the list of things you're "paying" for:
This holiday, Xbox LIVE is adding new Gold features, including ESPN and Video Kinect, with Hulu Plus coming on Xbox LIVE in 2011.
So ESPN, Video Kinect are announced for this update. As well Xbox LIVE mic quality upgrade, avatar update, and a slight aesthetic update of the dashboard.
Hulu Plus confirmed for next year release as well. Of course for those who know the price of Xbox LIVE is going up, I would rather have a free online play service rather than these services. I'm sure most gamers would.

Not necessarily true. And perhaps I don't want to stay subscribed or need to put resources somewhere else. There have been periods where I didn't pay for Xbox LIVE Gold but I still played my Xbox.
It's just not for me. I wouldn't pay for XBL if online play were free.
1.) You should not have to pay to play online with friends.
2.) Ads are ok as long as they are video game related IMO. You pay for a cable service and you still have Ads.
3.) PlayStation+ is something I will never pay for. Especially since you can't keep a handful of the material after your subscription ends.
4.) This price increase is bull. They should be moving in the opposite direction.
5.) I just wanna play video games.

I think I was the one that beat you, actually. Check a few posts up.
Ok enough with posting in this thread. Head over to Bobba's.
Beaten. Go to the other topic.
Microsoft today confirmed that the price of Xbox LIVE will increase starting November 1st.
From November 1st 2010, the price of an annual Xbox Live Gold subscription will increase from $49.99 to $59.99 in the US. Monthly charges will also rise to $9.99, up from $7.99.
In the UK, it only appears to be the monthly cost that's set to increase, rising from £4.99 to £5.99 a month. There's no word on a price increase for an annual Gold subscription in the UK.
"Since launching Xbox LIVE in 2002 we have continually added more content and entertainment experiences for our members, while keeping the price the same," said Microsoft's Major Nelson. "We're confident that when the new pricing takes effect, an Xbox LIVE Gold membership will continue to offer the best value in the industry.".
Well this is a bit of bullshit. Xbox 360 users already shouldn't have to pay to play online and now they have to pay more? I don't want all that other shit like Facebook, Twitter, Sky, Netflix, ESPN, etc. I want to play video games. Well, better hurry up and buy some cheap XBL cards before they go up in price if you're still planning to keep your subscription.

But yeah I don't see the point in that slight change to the dash, or the slightly more 'realistic' avatars. The Blades were just fine. I know the NXE is (mostly) easier to use but it would be nice to have the option.
Well if you read the original post I explained why they are updating it slightly. :o
At 8/28/10 08:06 PM, Grubby wrote: However I suspect... maybe a bit of corporate greed came into play? Maybe they just withheld it so they could add it in Reach so more people can buy it?
It's plausible, yet I doubt it because most Bungie employees don't even get a boost in their salaries in accordance to the SUPERMASSIVEGIGANTIC sales of the previous Halo games.
It's because when Bungie broke away from Microsoft they signed a deal that they would do 'X' amount of Halo games (3) within a certain time frame. Bungie was essentially rushed with ODST and there just was not enough time to do that complex of things and work out all the bugs.

It is coming, but nobody knows when. It will likely be with this update or shortly there after. The surprising thing is that it is free.

At 8/28/10 12:21 AM, FatJoe214 wrote: Didn't the red ranger also do gay porn?
That's a common rumor but it's actually not true. What is a bit "funny" I guess is that if you search "Red Ranger does gay porn" a Newgrounds topic made years ago is on the front page. At least for me it does.
The Blue Ranger (David Yost) recently admitted he is gay and told a little of his back story on it. Link. This may not come as a surprise to most people, but there is a bit of twist on David's experience...
Apparently he was harassed constantly by the producers, crew, etc. He was called a "faggot" and this ultimately lead him to leaving the show. It's hard to believe that Hollywood of all places would be so hateful towards the gay, but ~20 years ago things were a lot different.
What makes this more interesting is there is a video of the Power Rangers and cast messing around on set before a shoot. In the video you see Tommy (Jason Frank) kind of bully Tommy and a few times people in the background call David gay or a queer. Link
What are your thoughts on this? Does this change your opinion on the Power Rangers at all? Do you care at all?

I'm sure that is something that will be looked into. Microsoft really hasn't come out and announced or finalized anything yet, only that the update is coming and it is in beta now.
I didn't realize this until a few minutes ago, but I was invited into the beta program. I filled out all the information and will get a confirmation e-mail from Microsoft in the next few days saying if I got accepted or not. I have beta tested a few things in the past for them so it makes sense.
One thing I forgot to mention is that now that they have stopped the original Xbox LIVE, and by extension Halo 2, they can now update the friends list to hold more than 100 people. While most people don't have or need that many friends, a lot of people would like the ability. It has been heavily rumored that this will be in the upcoming update.
Personally I think it will because they're trying to make Kinect as social as possible. People like to friend whore (a la Facebook/Twitter) so it would make sense.
