still trying to see if anyone has had this same problem.

i am using flash 8 to make my new flash toon and i have run into a snag. i have about 4 scenes done right now. when i test movie it plays with no problems, but when i export/ publish and then play it out side of flash 8 parts of my flash are not showing up. each scene plays but some of the symbols and tweens are not appearing.

has anyone else had this problem? if so do you know how to fix it?

i'd appreciate any help i can get. thanx in advance.

when you make your sprite movie clip, you have to delete the white box around the sprite. there are severl easy techniques to do this, but i use photoshop and save the sprites sheets as gif images so they dont have the colored background on them before i put them together.

okay here is the list of tutorials i got from cartoonsmart:

in all of these he has some good technique but i find that he tries to make everyone confirm to his standard. if you are new to flash i would recommend that if you use his tutorials have a few other references handy as well. myself i have a flash mx 2004 hands on training manual and a college flash 8 revealed training manual.

use as many sources as possible so you can get the perspective of a few different people and use what is best for you, not the teacher.

i have baught several cartoonsmart tutorials. some are good some are bad, but they all give you a good idea on how to get your projects started. there are a few more on the website i would like to get but i still think some of his stuff is overpriced.

prank phone calls are illegal they are considered harrassing communications, but if you are verbally abusive while pranking you can get a terroristic threatening citation and have to go to court. and star 67 doesnt work in some areas.

i person in my town recently did the same thing with the xbox 360's. they posted that they were selling 5 of them, preordered and ready to ship. he allegedly took in about 7000$ for the sale and then never shipped anything. cops took the report, still investigating... charges still pending at this time.

people are stupid for bidding on a system that they could just wait a few more months to buy.

that isnt actually all that bad. maybe if you made the lines a little thinner and added more detail and some color than a little sound it would make a good submission. it is a good start if you wanted to ellaborate on it a little.

i sorta agree with the amount of garbage posted daily in the portal. i made a remark on another thread regarding a loop animation on the portal front page. it is a 2 or 3 second animated loop that runs the span of a song, when did this become front page material anyway. i thought that was reserved for the cream of the crop.

as for spammers i watch as many flash as i can and i dont see how a lot of it still makes it through judgement. i wont mention any names or crews but it just seems that mass voters only perpetuate the problem. there are several flash series that i dont understand why they even made it into the portal but there they are, dozens and dozens of crappy useless nonsense.

as for my animation look at my profile i have 0 right now because i am working on fine tuning my abilities. the current project i have right now has about 30 hours time into it. i have several projects that could have been submitted but i keep them out of the protal. it is easy to see why some people would just want to throw something out there, but QUALITY is better than QUANTITY.

you could always find a concrete or highway texture somewhere like turbo squid and just layer it onto your drawing and alpha it out a little.

i saw a story on the news this morning about a riot outside of a target in L.A. because of the ps3 sales. people are stupid, it's not that damn important to have one, and if it is then someones priorities are out of wack.

right now the board is full of penis threads.

blam and protection points are easily manipulated.

my blams are still higher than my protects but you can raise them by just voting what the general public votes. i would say that generally 1/4 to 1/2 of the flash that make it through the portal should actually be blammed but people seemed to think that most of that shite is funny. honustly there was a front page submission a day or so ago that was a 2 or 3 second animated loop that was set to a song, it was drawn okay but it had no effort and it still got front page... who did that happen?

i know for a fact that i have lost many points because i vote what i feel not what the general mass votes want.

a lot of these sells are fraud. i remember when this went down fro the ps2 and the psp. one guy had an auction that ended around 1500$, the buyer who won got an 8x10 photograph of a ps2 system. the seller got away from it because no one read the fine print on his auction. clearly stated you are bidding on a promotional photo for an ad for a ps2.

i have not heard of a single sell like these that are a real deal. i'd like to see some paypal screen shots for auctions like these. but if someone is stupid enough to pay 3000$ for a ps3 they deserve to be ripped off.

plus i think these sells should be illegal and prosecutable as fraud.

man salvia devonerium is a crock. i paid 45$ for what would amount to a 1/4 bag from this website and it didnt do anything for me. i followed all the different instructions that came with it. then i followed all the instructions from the website i got from a friend. the only thing i got out of the experience was loosing 45 bucks. although a lot of people swear it tripped them pretty good, i didnt get a thing. i was hoping to get the whole spirit world/ inner journey trip when i was using it but alas i wound up empty handed.

but my body normaly tends to react a lot different to most drugs. me and my friends tripped acid a few times, and i always had a delayed experience. we all dropped at the same time but i didnt start to trip until 2 to 3 hours after everyone else. so with salvia maybe it just isnt potent enough for me.

i use it in conjunction with several other programs. it's alright but not the best program out there.

all animation has its place. i'm sure there are a number of people who could list a dozon or ore anime that suck. just because it's anime doesnt mean its going to kick ass. as for american cartoons i only have a problem when some of them are STILL on the air when they take away the quality ones.

i pick Beavis and Butthead over most of the cartoons on now days. and what the hell is up with the simpsons, are they still that good? i quit watching that show after the 2nd or 3rd season, its boring and monotonious. king of the hill had it's day as well as family guy, now they are just run on and rehash, nothing cool and exciting.

i got the problem fixed. i reinstalled flash mx and it installed a plug in that apparently wasnt installed by flash 8.

im not talking aobut being able to run flash 8, im talking about not being able to click and play the swf file after i have exported it. but to answer your question yes i can navigate to it.

everything seems to be in order, i just can't click and view the swf file i get the window that says:
windows can not open this file without knowing what program created it. then you get to pick the programs from a list but my flash is not on it.

best bet... post in for flash somewhere that ps3 xbox and wii are copywritten by thier prospective companies and the ideas portayed are not the views of those companies and you can pretty much do what you want.

i recently installed flash 8 pro in my computer, upgrading from flash mx pro. before when i published my flash work it made a swf file that was viewable just by clicking it, but now it shows that a swf is generated but for some reason it wont let me click on it to view it, is there a problem here or is that something different with flash 8? now after publishing the only way i can view my work is to create a html document or post my work on a website? i was just wondering if anyone else had run into this same thing or if anyone knew how to fix it.

well i hope they actually made the p3 with better quality than the revious consoles. i owned 3 ps2's and all of them wound up fritzing out due to some stupid reason or another. i have had my xbox for 3 years now an dnot a single problem.

all the new systems look great and probably run more efficient but i still dont think i will get any of them i hardly use my xbox as it is.

rammstein are okay, i dont have a problem with them other than thier lyrics, a lot of them are kinda lame, they just sound cool in german.

first... the Korn video is just Korn, nothing special. the video isnt anymore scary than the 7 days video from the ring. the song is okay though, kind of lost my faith in Korn a few years back, most of their music is just repedative nowadays.

second... Dir En Grey...? are they an oriental/asian heavy metal band? that lead singer looks like a cross betten a chibi angel a goth chick and Gir... just plain freaky.

i remember watching these. but it looks like he may have traced over some fo the characters to make it look like he did it.

i dont know why some people just want to try to make themselves look better than they are. what would they do if they were to be contacted by a network to make some toons only to fall on thier faces when they cant even do the job?

i dont see why anyone would want to do that.
