right on ornery
First before you learn how to make a website, you must design a website (layout, site map, what it's for, etc.) Then start learning html and css, and how the code is written and functions, I am sure you could find many tutorials for this online.
the comics were better than any of the shows or movies will ever be...
showcasing my art, not ashamed at all, and no, it wan not locked either.
Tweens are easier I agree, but with frame by frame you draw the character exactly how you see it every frame, you can make more dynamic and realistic animation this way.
Pong is awesome by the way...
I would like everybody's opinion, frame by frame vs tweens/rigged characters. I personally prefer traditional frame by frame.
I am in need of some people to critique my WIP animation, only I do not want to submit it to the dumping grounds because I don't want everyone to see it. Let me know if you are interested in giving a well thought out and thorough critique.
I am looking for animators to critique my WIP. Feedback of composition and scene progression to be specific.
Codenamed Goldylocks 2.0, "Keep out" tells the story of a hungry little girl that stumbles across a cabin in the woods, which strangely enough, has a warm meal inside waiting for her. Sometimes things are too good to be true.
Thinking of submitting the finished animation around madness day...
haha, everyone is entitled to there own opinion. People will never get any better if you just tell them they suck, people draw what they are capable of drawing, critique them accordingly.
Proof is not irrelevant. If you're going to go around saying that art mods don't give every piece in the art portal equal treatment, and that we're too mean to people in the forum, then you better have proof to back that up. Until you do, kindly shut the fuck up.
We don't appreciate negative press.
I have been coming to newgrounds since I was 11, in 2001. I may not post alot, but believe me, I read through here and I see what is said. I have pms to prove people have been insulted by mods, you just cant seem to open your eyes and see what actually happens. It's pretty late, I will say I am wrong if it will shut you all the fuck up, I am too tired to argue any longer.....
Kinsei, you have a way with words you know. I think I am done here...

this was one of my firsdt posts, notice the words the words and what they mean....
I have stated what I needed to say, you can say I only said scores, but that is because you are not reading my posts completely, or you are not understanding me. I do not wish to argue and I am not talking about all mods, but there are a few. I do not need proof because that is irrelevant, I am just making a statement about the way that art is judged on here, and how people are treated because there art is not deemed "worthy." Art is art, and someone put there heart and soul into making that shit, so don't disrespect them. I have never witnessed this type of behavior from you, so dont take it personally.
why judge an artist based on his skill, look for what he is good at, what he needs to improve on and tell him how you think he can make is work better. Do not tell someone this bullshit, regardless if you think it looks bad. It was probably some kid looking for feedback, and he gets insulted, this is not very professional, wouldn't you agree?
It's terrible. Most of the stuff you post in this forum is terrible, in fact.
I think you should quit posting your artwork in this forum, since I think you're beyond the help of most users.
People are actually told shit like this, by the way, a mod posted this. I am just saying Art is art, everyone has their own opinion.
Since you don't seem to get it, I'll repeat what the other art mods have already said.
THERE IS NO CRITERIA FOR BEING ON THE FRONT PAGE
WE DO NOT CARE ABOUT SCORES
To get onto the frontpage an art mod just has to think your piece is cool or at least mildly amusing.
maybe you look through all of them dude, but not every mod, get real

Again, wrong.
Your making assumptions that the Mods only care about scores and numbers. If that were true, then I know plenty of shit work that would be front paged due to people constantly up-voting their own work, or sonic fan art that attracted the sonictards.
Its not about the scores, its not about the averages. It is about what tickles their fancy at the time. Look at the Banabadile not exactly a good work. I mean truly, some one thought it was funny, or would make an excellent joke, and FP'd it.
And the same goes for good work. You can paint the next Mona Lisa and get nowhere with it.
Dude I never said they judge only based on scores, I know they front page it if they like it, thats what I said In my last post if you read through it.
:that is all I am trying to say, it is not judged on its quality, only if they like it or not or it has a decent score.
bad-ass work dude, very interesting design and composition.

hahaha, I know they only pick what they like, but they do not search through every entry. They probably catch it if its got a good score, or when it first gets submitted. A lot of people including the mods judge work based on its score, they will score a user based on his BA also. I do not agree with this at all, that is all I am trying to say, it is not judged on its quality, only if they like it or not or it has a decent score. "You don't have a good BA, so your work is shit," that's the type of shit I am talking about.

exactly my point, my point being mods pick what they like, and just because its not front paged doesn't mean its not good. Art is art, let no one tell you different, mods dont pick good art, they pick what they like.
your right they don't cater to an audience, they cater to what they believe to be art. I never said there was a set criteria, I am saying that people like you, always pick only what you like.
At 8/14/11 02:43 PM, Nondual wrote: Do you think this piece is good enough to be featured on the front page?
A much higher quality version is in my Newgrounds Gallery here
When I first submitted this, it was with a bunch of my best works. And one of them did get front paged. This also had a couple of things, that needed to be improved. So I think it just got over looked.
I did spend a few more hours on this and made it a bunch better, I think. And I've had a bunch of people say that they thought this was really good.
Now that this piece has been improved, how do I get it noticed by the people who pick art for the front page? Do they only pick new art? What do you think?
Hopefully it's cool that I made this thread. I love the Newgrounds community, and I want to show you all what I've been working so hard on.
Just because it is not good enough for the front page doesn't mean its not good. To get front page, alot of people have to like it (more geared towards newgrounds audience.) Don't let this get you down, and please, keep making art.

I put sir henry behind it because the studios pops out more (looks 3d), sir henry was more flat, will take it into consideration....
I tried to balance out the sizes with contrast in the colors, white draws more attention than blue.
