I don't think we need to dump the structure we have now. I like the political and legal check that the governor general provides and I'd hate to see all that power in the hands of the Prime Minister. To just be able to dissolve the state or change rules that actually dictate how much power the position holds...
I think that would be pretty dangerous.
And I have a lot of respect for Queen Elizabeth II.
