Even though I understand Fallout 3 is most likely better, I am told it gets repetitive due to the VATS system, and lackluster DLC

Pffffft, If either were repeative it would be Borderlands. Anyway, the DLC is shit APART FROM "Broken Steel" and (to a lesser extent) "Point Lookout"

Borderlands, on the other hand, appeals to me in the cartoony graphics (of which I am a huge fan), the insane amount of weapons, and the fact that it is a true FPS.

Also, its the same grind as WoW

I still cant decide

Fallout 3, Do eeeeeet

Fallout 3, with mods/DLC I got around 480 hours (Thats 20 days) of gameplay from it

from Borderlands I have gotten around 15-20 before getting bored of the fact that its a horrible grind and stopped playing, also the gamespy servers are HORRIBLE.

Your choice.

The only bad press they've ever had is L4D2. Which I'm still not buying.

I just hope they don't do that shit agian with any other series. Or else i'll throw them into the "pit of money hungry fuckers" like I did Blizzard.
What did they do?

Now, before I start I will say that A) I played the demo and, B) I supported the Boycotts ideals.

Anyway, L4D2 (or at least the demo) felt like L4D 1.5, it had new maps, characters, enemies, weapons and the like but nothing really sequel like about it. It felt like the sort of DLC you buy in steam (E.g Empire Total War Warpath Campaign, that had new units, enemies, areas and music, but nothing sequel like).

So, thats what they did, make a full priced sequel that feels much more like an Expansion pack.

Well obviously.
It's not possible to make a 3D game in 8-bit withoutout it looking worsse than Doom

I'd have though a top down view would have been better to coordinate things with your team, of course it would make the up/down part of the levels complicated.

I don't know, While some games do try to hard to be "arty" or focus largely on story, when they get it RIGHT and make it memorable its often a step above the memory of a good plot in a film. As YOU were part of it, not just observing it.

E.g: Bioshock, if that had been a movie it would have been a nice story, but as a game it was a great story. Because YOU could see, explore, fight, take and hear the world for yourself, not for what the camera saw.

Nice to see someone made a PC gaming group on the VG forums.

Steam ID: yyywww111

Games I have with multi;

Team Fortress 2
Gmod
Left 4 Dead
League of Legends
Killing Floor
Borderlands (though my multi can't connect to most games D:)

Anyway, specs:

260GTX 868mb
E8500 @ 3.8Ghz (OC'd from 3.16Ghz)
4Gb 1066Mhz RAM with built in heatsinks
17 inch monitor

Also, did anyone really like Borderlands? I enjoyed it, but not enough to really call it a great game. It just felt like a grind after level 5, and doing the same thing over and over with similar abilities etc ruins the fun for me.

Because they Invented it.

But then the UK invented English, so it all works out. (Don't go on about how its a Latin rooted language, because almost all European languages are).

Yeah its based on a popular Russian novel (same name).

Pretty sure it'll be semi-linear, You have to go to A to do the quest, but you can go somewhere else to do stuff too.

Also should note, this game is largely shooter and a small bit RPG.

Ugh, AMD and integrated graphics. I really couldn't give you an "expert" opinion, but I'd say you should be able to run tf2 on minimum.

WWII shooters are dead, and MW has a monopoly on modern shooters, so post-apocalyptic/sci-fi is becoming popular.

OH SHIT BALLS OH CHRIST! LIEK 7 GAEMS ARE NOW POST APOCALYPTIC MAKE THEM ORIGINAL GUISE!1!1!

Seriously, as long as the plot is good, and the actual game remains fun the fact that it is post-apocalyptic like the other bunch of games shouldn't matter. Now, seeing as apparently it is a big deal could someone please give me a list of games in that genre released in the past 3 years or coming out within 1.

My list:

Stalker and Stalker Clear Sky
Fallout 3 + DLC
Borderlands
Rage
The Secret World
Metro 2033

Also, this game is the 3rd russian game I am looking forward to.

Topic: Hl2 Dm Help. ):

Posted: 11/07/09 09:08 PM

Forum: Video Games

If you can run tf2, then you have the specs to run HL2DM.

Now, I'm guessing from what you've wrote that the problem is that, everytime you turn something down it doesn't go down.

On that note, if your using recommend settings or something where the levels are "low, medium" etc then don't. And if you are pressing ok then you should be pressing APPLY.

How to increase FPS;

Options -> Graphics -> Advanced

Turn shadows to minimum
Turn graphics detail to medium
Turn AA to x2

Your game will now look nice enough and should run decently.
