Any sugestions on how I should make the shadow? I had an idea but it turned out crap...

Well first off, good job, that's awesome.

I'd start with making the shadow less static, as people's shadow's aren't square! :P
Then perhaps make the shadow one colour, like the dark one you had going.

It does.

No, the link you sent was a .jpg.

.PNG is a file type that is generally better quality than .jpg.

idiot-monarch: Taken!

Guitarmaster: It's okay, but send me the .png!

@Pahgwak: Thanks!

@J-qb: in!

@Guitarmaster: You have the right idea, but it would be better if you put a little more effort into it. Also, link to the .png when posting.

For a good host, look at the first post.

I did not see this post and will redeem myself with another sad picture.

Fuck that is upsetting.

Is that from Apocalypse Now?

Response to: Are you ashamed of visiting NG? Posted August 6th, 2009 in General

Well, when I am on the main part of Newgrounds, (AKA not the forums) I'm fine with it as I make flash and art, and this is a place to showcase it.

On the other hand, when I see the Newgrounds BBS, I sometimes cry due to being so horrified.

THIS REMINDS ME!

The picture(s) you make doesn't have to be simple.
Look at this one I made here: I used only three colours, but this is where the magic is. It doesn't have to LOOK like you used three colours. More complex drawings make people look at them closely to see if they really only used three colours.

Please help me with this. Posted August 6th, 2009 in Art

Alright, here's this picture. I want you guys to tell me ways to improve the shading of the head. The body is of no interest here. Just tell me how to improve the head please.

Please help me with this.

But I had this idea and I just wanted to get it off my chest and draw it down, so I present it to you.

Hmm. I like the idea, but could you perhaps spend a little more time on it?

TRi-Tri-TRiPle POST!!!

Also, could you pm that to me as a .png?

Response to: [art-flash Collab]-colours In Three Posted August 6th, 2009 in Art

thats good since i cant shade properly anyway, also one when is the deadline ie when do we stop sending pictures ( time or when there is enough pics) and two is there a limit to how many each person can do

Alright.
THE DEADLINE IS AUGUST 31ST!

THE LIMIT IS 5 PICTURES PER PERSON

Response to: [art-flash Collab]-colours In Three Posted August 6th, 2009 in Art

Nah I made shading illegal.

Response to: [art-flash Collab]-colours In Three Posted August 6th, 2009 in Art

Of Course it is up to you, But I strongly advise you to disallow shading (sorry JKA).
I feel it just ruins the entire point of this collab. Being creative with what you have. Making something appaling without resorting to shading and lots of different colors.

You just made me see the light.

RIGHT NO SHADING BE INNOVATIVE

TRi-Tri-TRiPle POST!!!

This is a good example of what can be submitted! :D

As for shading: You CAN shade, although don't overexaggerate the shading, so that it looks like an entirely separate colour.

Response to: [art-flash Collab]-colours In Three Posted August 6th, 2009 in Art

Another thing I forgot to mention!

I'm not going to take crap into the collab. If you do a shitty job, chances are you won't get in.
Just don't be heart broken if that happens, you must have really disregarded the rules or something to get rejected.

[art-flash Collab]-colours In Three Posted August 6th, 2009 in Art

ALRIGHTY THEN!

This is an art collab featuring the use of a colour scheme that contains only three colours in a drawing.
ITT: Make a drawing with only three colours!

Rules/Specifications:

Dimensions: 600x600 PIXELS
Background colour: ALMOST GOT ME THERE
Use only three colours- choose carefully!
Use any medium- just make sure it turns out nicely.
NO RUSH JOBS!

Useful tips:

Feel free to sign your piece, but I'm going to put your name on it anyway.
If you're making it in flash, send me the .swf. If you're making it in a program where image export is essential, make sure you send it as a .png (portable networks graphic).
No animated .gifs.
If it is animated, (in flash, dummy) make sure you put it in a movieclip or graphic that is labeled with your name in front (ie: beret_symbolname).
You may use a background that is a separate colour from the rest of the piece, (Ie: black) but try to make the rest stand out.

FAQ:

Q: "Hold your pandas, Jimbo! Does this mean that I can't use black and white?"
A: "Pretty much, yep."

Q: "Will this have a layout like the Mount Newground collab?"
A: "No, it will be a 'next button' collab, meaning you click a button to go to the next piece. This lets the viewer see the piece more clearly."

Q: "Can I submit photography?"
A: "Not unless it is a photograph of a piece you've made for the collab (ie: my scanner is broken).

Q: "How many pieces can I submit?"
A: "As many as you'd like. Just remember one thing: Quality over quantity!"

Submitting:

You can post your piece in this thread, or if you want more secrecy, send a download link in a Private Message to me.

Good file hosting sites are:
Myfrogbag
Mediafire
Imageshack
Spamtheweb

THE FINAL RULE:

Have fun! :D

However, if after trying your best you still can't make the file size lower, you can PM Tom asking for permission to submit a file over 10 MB.

Cheers.

I pm'd Tom, but there was no answer. Ah well, I'll host it somewhere else and link it here.
