I think this could pose a problem for, say... rape victims, or those smuggling drugs in their orifices.

I do think it is a gross (no puns, please) invasion of privacy. There are better, less invasive, ways of finding weapons.

No, my point was a rhetorical question. When marriage was put forth was strickly between man and woman or anything the man desired to screw? My point was marriage has always been between man and woman. Even in pagan religions.

Please read and think upon my post more next time..........

sheesh

*points to other post* Does it even matter? These marriage traditions also probably had something to do with giving someone else a goat (dowries). Yet, paying a dowry has been declining.

Marriage is not love. Marriage is a moral excuse for people to fuck. But hey, let's follow your logic for a second and say if love is involved that anything is permissible. I'm sure the BTK Killer "loved" to torture and kill people, therefore his actions were justified. I'm pretty sure the Enron exects "loved" money. So that justifies their greed. I'm also convinced the KKK "loves" black people.

Also, who knows what marrage was like 3,000 years ago.

No, I'm pretty sure that marriage has always been between man and woman. Even in Sparta where homosexuality was encouraged among men there was no marriage between same sexes. Neither was there same sex marriage in the Meiji-era of Japan.

If you study history you will never find a culture where same sex marriage been promoted, and that would leave one to the conclusion that every culture considered marriage between man and woman, and that's fact.

The only reason we're having this debate is because of a bunch of PC assholes who want to shit on thousands of years of tradition.

Tradition changes. Wearing a corset used to be a tradition, and now it isn't even underwear anymore (at least, not in common use). Even marriage traditions have changed. People used to marry for money and to have children. Now, you see poor, infertile people marrying all the time!

Tradition is malleable. It's not like allowing gay marriage will destroy the fabric of society and throw the country into anarchy.

Gay marriage has nothing to do with political correctness. You're just throwing buzz words around. I believe the GLBT community's P.C. concerns lie in the realm of the words "faggot" and "dyke."

Key word: Hope.

I think in Minnesota a bill was drafted to keep college professors from talking about politics in the classroom. Or maybe it forbade talking about anything other than what the class was about (like, you can only talk about German-related things in German classes). In any case, it was to protect the poor little Republican drones from having years of brainwashing erased.

I think that what really outrages these parents is that another opinion is being presented.

A full benefits package and large salary shouldn't go to every teacher regardless of effectiveness.

I understand that. You'd better be able to prove that it's the teacher, and then maybe send them someplace so that they can better themselves. A pay cut is just going to make them resentful, and it won't solve a thing. Besides, teachers bitch about not being paid enough as it is. Do you really want them to have yet another reason to piss and moan?

I can tell you from experience that in some classes, the majority of the students don't want to be there, don't want to learn, and don't want to do their work. So, most of the class FAILS. In other classes, they signed up for it because they like the subject, want to excell, and are more willing to be there/do their work. Most to all of the class passes. You have fantastic teachers teaching both kinds of classes. What do you do? It isn't right to penalize the teacher because his/her students suck toes.

Response to: Left-wing bias in teachers. Posted August 19th, 2006 in Politics

Newsflash: Everyone is biased. If you don't like left-bias, you should've found a nice right-wing school that'll teach you about the evils of abortion and teh ebil ghey (Homophobia 101: How not to catch TEH GHEY!!!).

Your professors have the freedom of speech. Your classmates have the freedom of speech. Suck it up, or move to a country that will shoot anyone who disagrees with the government (just make sure you agree with the government!).

1. There is proof that sports help students perform in school (just like fine arts and a good night's sleep, yet nobody really cares about those when ceramics just got cut and you have to be at school by 7:30 in the goddamn morning), but I think that a LOT of money is wasted on sports. Prioritize, people.

2. Paying teachers based upon how well their students do is bullshit. You could have the best damn teacher in the world, and half of the class would STILL be failing. The problem? Students don't want to do their schoolwork anymore. That's the problem.

3. I agree on standardized testing. To begin with, if you're not good at math or aren't in fucking advanced math, you're screwed. The MCA (Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment) Math Test which is given to high school juniors in Minnesota is horrible for many students, simply because they don't know enough math.

4. I don't see a problem with my school's administration... We have small learning communities, so we have six "academies." Each "academy" gets a counsellor and an assiatant prinicpal, and we have an actual principal and an unknown number of secretaries. Considering how much trouble students get into nowadays, it makes sense to have extra administrators for discipline.

5. Exactly! My school is a higher-level I.B. school (and it REALLY shouldn't be, because our I.B. program SUCKS compared to schools in, like... Florida.), and they are FORCING (yes, FORCING) students to remain in IB classes that they are FAILING. If you sign up for IB English and/or History, you MUST take it in your junior and senior years of highschool. In IB science or math and want out? Tough shit. Especially if you're a minority. There's no denying it. They want the numbers for the funding and so that they'll look good.

6. See, in Minnesota you just won't graduate if you don't get your credits or complete the graduation standards. You can make up two credits a summer, so that's... six credits? There's also ALC, but the dregs of the fucking district go there, and it's from 3-6 or something like that after school.

Response to: Latinos as Whites Posted August 16th, 2006 in Politics

It can be hard to tell... If you're of Spanish descent, and I think that Spanish qualifies as white, you're probably white. But, I think that most latino people also have quite a bit of native blood, so you can't really call them white.

Really, it just sounds like the guy was trying to validify his point of view by pulling information out of his ass.

Uhhh... I'm not entirely sure. Go to the store and check it out. You might also be able to order it if Microsoft has an online store.

Try going to a store and buying it. I've seen it for XP at places like Target and Wal-Mart.

Psh... Newgrounds is superior, as anyone with a brain can figure out. When I found this place, most of the flash on Ebaums AND a lot of superior work was here, too. Newgrounds=Ebaums' stuff+better stuff

Plus, they have a whole section with mature content... good mature content. ;)
