Well yeah, it's geared towards more technical people I'll admit- it's a dream to program under Linux. It's as secure as a Mac (which also uses a Unix base), if not more secure because less people use it. Recently it's been getting some commercial attention though, several companies have started selling netbooks with Linux pre-installed. There's also been a few games ported to it, but I won't be getting my hopes up because it will probably take it years to finally catch on commercially (if it ever does).

Before yesterday I was playing around on Arch Linux for like about a week, then I decided to wipe my hard drive and install Ubuntu 10.10, I haven't upgraded because the horrible idea of having a gigantic space-absorbing semi-transparent panel with huge icons on the left of my screen makes me wanna go puke.
I'm after minimalistic software, so it's pretty neat actually. If you like, I can show you a screeny of my desktop.

Wow. I'm not sure if I should even argue with you because you're obviously not informed enough about Linux to form a valid opinion about it. Maybe you should get a Mac after all.

If you don't use Windows for gaming, then you can join Linux, Linux isn't specifically for hacking, depending on the distribution from where there are dozens of them. Linux is also faster and has built-in virus killer. Best of all it's open-source, so it's free.
