Getting rid of the popups won't work. The portal, along with most every other part of the site, is database driven. It's just getting jammed up. Maybe investing more money in better/more servers might help. I don't know too much about their specific situation.

newspro is similar to the script that is used here on ng, but im sure they use php, its faster and more reliable.

but if your not very good at doing stuff (lazy me) just get newspro from kane of nods link, its easy to install :)
