sorry if i didnt put it clear but i dont understand how to do something stop whit hitTest. This time when my player hits the ground i will have to have him to stop, not fall trough.

...create a ground engine. I cant figure out how to use hitTest to create walls and grounds for my platformer/sidescroller. I got my gravity and i tried to create a ground based engine with gravity but i failed. the code vars we're was something like

grav = 0.23
bounce = .21
ground = 285

well anyways it didnt work.
So i am wondering how do i create a ground (you know, platform style) with hitest i cant figure that out, neither walls.

thatnks guys, i know eviludys thread actualy i am a very good friend with eviludy but since i am only trying to learn gravity and hittest i might not buy the book now. Maybe in a few months.

Im sad to hear that from you, since i believe your right(most of the time). But i cannot, or well i can afford that book but im not willing to pay for it since i know i can learn for free. Sorry, but i dont wish to offend you in any way. Thanks anyways for your replies.

... understand AS better, since i just started learning. what i do know already is variables, some hitTest, basic mouse controls, buttons, and timeline control.

What i need is, someone to help me learn AS (actionscript).

I expect someone to help me via msn messenger basicaly questions.... Reply and ill put my msn here...
