I would like to have a small .fla portal so people can upload content to share to other artists to use, and possibly share revenue with for using the shared assets.

from art to actionscript stuff. So for example someone is making a game but lacks drawing/animating skills, could cruise the .fla portal find what he wants and use it. maybe something like that. possibly even charge money for the .fla and newgrounds could take a cut to help keep the site going strong.

click the edit your movie button,
scroll down the very bottom. click the API link.
add your movies title in the add new movie.
click your movies api settings link.
activate flash adds and anything else.
your movie has to be approved by the admins before your flash adds will work,
also your movie or game has to be kid friendly. so a rating of E or T no M or A.
or they will denie you.

save settings and it will take you to a download link where you download the appropriate API for your flash.

well heres what I do.. maybe it will help?

Draw the background in flash with the line tool, because usually the scenerey is rooms or buildings ect which need lots of straght lines and correct perspectives. Its easier for me to do that with the line tool.

fill in basic colors, then export the frame as a png, and import into adobe photoshop and add all desired details and colors.

not only does it looks better, but its less likely to lag up the scene in flash since there is no vectors to process, and flash can focus on the actual animated characters.

thats cool, but your tuturial doesnt explain what code to have it restart to the first scene again after the movie is over? I'm having a lot of trouble with this.

I have 1,819 objects, that's no where near 16,000. And I'm pretty sure it's not over 16,000 frames either.
Theres 20 scenes, would having that many bug it out?

forgot to mention testing the said scene by itself, it works fine. but when playing the full movie it still freezes on that part.

Well I recently finished a new flash movie but theres one snag..
The scene before the last always freezes. the sounds will continue to play to the end but the animation always stops on the same graphic.
I can't figure out why it would do that.
I had to upgrade to cs4 just to get the movie to work because flash 8 kept freezing on export, but I don't think that has anything to do with it.

Not as familiar with cs4 so maybe theres something I've overlooked?

and no theres no stop commands or any actionscript in the scene so I dunno.
is there an object limit? and if so whats the max? maybe I have to much art in the movie? its pretty huge, with intense graphics, but the scene in question is pretty basic actually. so I'm totally clueless with this. No jpegs or anything is in the scene either. and I've tried that scene with no sound effects to with the same effect.

I've never encountered a problem like this one where the swf itself freezes.
If anyone has an idea as to how to fix it or anything I would appreciate it!

happend to me a week ago. just go to walmart and pick up something like the murine ear wax system or something similar. should have the squeezy ball that squirts the solution in the ear and will dissolve and wash out the wax. a lot cheaper than the doc.

maybe try a different version of flash. i'm still using 8 with no major problems.
sometimes it helps if you split the movie in a few scenes if it gets glitchy as well.

might just be lagging because to much crap on the screen at once along with the streaminging sounds forcing it. I dont think its the length or size i've made bigger.
although flash can be glitchy sometimes..

I dont know. I've had similar problems in the past. theres no worse feeling than losing all your hard work to a crash or error. always back it up. I have 2 pcs connected on a network so I often save a backup copy to my 2nd pc as i work on it.

maybe another thing to try is reinstall flash or install a different version of flash and see if it will open the fla.

also try copying the .fla and renaming the new copy. sometimes that works. if your lucky..
