In other words they will die out when this generation ends. If this logic truly applies than 360's are just a fad too. so are wii's and so were the n64, playstation, ps2, genesis, nes, snes, gameboy, gamecube, xbox, and atari.

No, no. You misunderstand. See, all of those consoles did not "die out" , per se, but became argueable "classics" because they all made major contributions to gaming as a whole. This will happen to the Wii, due to its revolutionary control scheme ( and that's all it really has), It will happen to the 360 for the way it remade online gaming, but I can't see it happening to the PS3, because it really is nothing special.

I'm not just saying this outta my ass, you know. The first next-gen system I bought was a PS3. I traded it, and the PS3 games I bought, back in for a 360. Why? Because I had (have) an old PS2, and besides better graphics, there was literally nothing special about it.

Read the thread.
no seriously, get a PS3. it will be supported for a 10 year life span of new games and content. according to EA, the 360 has already reached it's peak and while the games are good, only a few stand out as great. and that ad thing. if you and your mom really make your decisions based on ads, you don't deserve video games in general.

Yes, ACCORDING to EA, one of the most unworthy developers in the industry. It is only my opinion, but really, what do YOU think of when EA Games is mentioned? 007? Madden Football? Sure, the Battlefield experience is great, but the original Battlefield games are FAR less fun without a good mod. Also, statements like that are generally influenced (usually) by fat stacks of cash.

Response to: My mom won't let me buy a 360. Posted August 12th, 2009 in Video Games

Ha! You still have a Wii? You need to explain to your mom that Wiis are generally useless for ACTUAL gaming, unless you enjoy playing countless retreads of Mario Baseball, or whatever, or unless you are middle-aged and want to "get back into shape with the Wii Fit!". Also, don't buy an Arcade. Buy the standard 360 that has an actual hard drive installed. Sure, it's more expensive, but you'll get more use out of it.
Also, good choice to avoid the PS3. PS3s are basically just a fad, and will probably die out sooner or later. And don't listen to all the " Superior graphics" blah blah bullshit. If you compare the 360 and the PS3, you can see that you aren't really miising out on much besides, what? Killzone? God of War? Sure, they are good games, but pretty images and third-party titles just don't make up for it.

Response to: Possibilities of a WW3 Posted August 12th, 2009 in Politics

Ok, WW3 simply will NOT occur for the following reasons:
1: MAD, or mutually assured destruction. Technically, it would be possible to fight it out without using nuclear weapons, but it is almost assured that someone like China or North Korea would flip out and launch theirs right away.

2: NO ONE wants another world war. The devistation it did last time was horrific. Now, imagine what could happen this time, with all our technology.

3: Nostradamus is all bullshit. Christ, the guy thinks Hitler is gonna come back! If you've actually read his predictions, then you will know that they are all just vague statements that could apply to a lot of things.

Also, I'm not an American or anything, but I do know my war history. I can't recall the Americans starting any recent wars, despite what you think. In fact, the only one I can think of would be the American-Filipino war. (Probably not spelled right. X3)

Raising an Army, perhaps?. . . Posted August 20th, 2007 in Politics

I was recently in West Edmonton Mall with my friends and I heard the most outrageous thing!
As I was walking past Play Me, a video game store, kinda like an extremely overpriced EB Games, a group of people past me, and I overheard a woman say " Jack Thompson is right about shit like that."
I could barely keep my homicidal urges down! What the Hell? He has followers now?! What is this world coming to?!

This why I hate History class. Sitting in a desk for an hour a day listening to how humanity decided to kill each other everytime someone sneezed in a church is not my ideal way of spending my time.

Thanks for your time.

Response to: Obese Woman is upset at Doctor Posted July 15th, 2007 in Politics

Let me get this straight. An Obese Woman is sueing her Family Pediatrician for for running a diagnostic and giving her dietery health advice?. . .Well now, let me tell you all what will happen over the coming days/months/years.
Oct 2008: Press has been following the story, looking for someone new to humiliate.

Dec 2008: Obese woman wins the Lawsuit after developing " Emoitional Stress brought on by comments regarding her physical apperance."

Dec 2008: Obese woman spends her new fortune on a lifetime supply of Twinkies.

May 2009: Doctor's clinic runs out of buisness

June 2009: Obese womans legs give way outside a Denny's. She's finally too fat to move.

June 2009: Doctor's wife leaves him, press is ecstatic.

July 2009: Doctor commits suicide, press declares it " Tragic" .

Sept 2009: Woman is declared big enough to be a National Landmark.

Nov 2009: Woman suffers a heart attack while reaching for a passing Doritos truck.

Nov 2009: Instead of wasting thousands of man-hours trying to lift her with a crane, the local government opts to encase her in concrete and put a 150 Million candle-power light on her head to guide ships into harbour with.

April 2013: Years later, the womans fat folds are a popular resting spot for peigions.

There you have it. More or less, that's how the events would unfold in modern America.

Response to: Video Games Are Not Evil!!! Posted July 15th, 2007 in Politics

Of course Video games don't cause violence! The problem does not lie with the 21-year-old playing Ninja Gaiden, the problem lies with the 11-year-old kid suckering his slow-witted parents into buying Gears of War for his birthday, and making them think the game is rated "E".
I thought we had those ESRB ratings for a reason, hmm?

Response to: Does Canada have stealth aircraft Posted May 29th, 2007 in Politics

Currently, Canada does not have any stealth aircraft, but I doubt we'll ever get any. Canada doesn't need stealth aircraft, because we are not technically and "offensive" nation like America. We specialize in peacekeeping, like helping to rebuild schools, and stuff. We don't need powerful weaponry, because we're the ones who rebuild what's left, after America crushes towns/villages/states/countries under its self-rightious boot.

Response to: Quit bitching about your gas prices Posted May 2nd, 2007 in Politics

I live in the Great Frozen Wasteland known as Canada, XD, and personally, In Alberta, we're surrounded by oilfields, all sucking oil and gas out of the earth, but then we have to ship the goddamn stuff to Ontario or something to have it refined or some shit! Woah. . .WTF?! Why don't we stop spending the taxpayer's money on retarded crap like rehabilitation for druggies, and spend it on a new refining plant! That way, we'd have lower gas prices!

I'm not going to impose my will on anyone, but personally, I agree with you. Remember: As this child is so young, its immune system could not have developed fully,( hence why children get sick easier) but even if it had, considering that this is a neurological disorder, even an adult's body would find it almost impossible to fight. The child is most certainly in pain, and will doubtfully live longer than a few more months.
This being the case, and the parents knowing the child cannot be cured, it certainly seems harsh and cruel to keep the baby on life support. I personally think that the child should be painlessly " put to sleep". ( For lack of better words.)

Positive media please! Posted May 2nd, 2007 in Politics

Has anyone noticed (I'm sure you all have) that when the media covers a situation overseas, such as the war in Afghanistan, they almost exclusively focus on the negative side, such as friendly casualties, by creating huge-ass log articles, But friendly troops are hardly ever recognized for flushing the Taliban out of a town, or for the humanitarian aid they give...
What the hell is up with that?! This just reinforces my belief that the media is only there for the casualties. Like vultures circling a carcass. . .
Comments, Anyone?

Custom sprite help Posted April 27th, 2007 in General

I NEED HELP!
I'm currently working on a flash project, and I need some help! Is there anyone out there who will make some sprites to my specifications? I am asking for sprites of my character, Shukumei. I would make them myself, but I'm not very good at making custom sprites... Any help would be appreciated! I'll include you in the credits! Also, they have to be battle sprites!
If anyone agrees to, I'll tell them what the character design is. No use wasting everyone else's time.
Thanks everyone!
