I should ban you for being unappreciative of effort and thinking you know what is acceptable for a topic and what isn't.

Good job.
You are so damn racist.

From a philosophical standpoint- does it matter if mankind destroys Earth or if the Sun destroys Earth?
What if mankind/humankind's development is just a part of natural history of planets and we're meant to destroy the world?

Sounds like you might actually develop something meaningful.

Well the thing is if every operation involved microsurgical techniques, operating time would increase so much to the point where other people would suffer because they wouldn't have enough surgeons to work on everyone.
It's a balance.

Uh... did any of you click the links?
If you do, you can see if you have a mucocele.
Just leave it if it's not causing you any problems. If I had known what to do... then I wouldn't have a numb lip now would I?
madknt: Ah ok. I think you posted about that before.

debateable, this isn't like Command & Conquer where you fuck up an enemy beyond belief and they're done. We won WW2, yet Japan still has an army, not as massive as it was, but regardless.
I'd read a bit more.
America post-WWII pretty much shaped modern Japan.

putting a plate in my arm they damaged some of the nerves.
at first i could hardly feel my thumb at all, but it got better fairly quickly and the difference between thumbs is hardly noticable now.
That sucks.
How did you break your arm the 3rd time?
They really need to figure out a way to protect nerves.

The job he did was quite poor. I have a lump of scar tissue that's almost inside (but slightly under) my lower lip.
Shitty.
I think you should stick to a plastic surgeon or an oral surgeon for that stuff.
My mucocele was caused by trauma.
Sorry to hear about your botched operation, though. Can't blame you for wanting to get it removed.
LazyDrunk: No - I know the diagnosis.... humantarget52 has already drained the mucocele several times for me.
They can regress on their own.. perhaps I should've waited another year.
At 10/16/06 12:32 PM, PinkBeer wrote: sue the hospital? unless he said it was a risk.
See that's the thing. I could actually sue the surgeon but it's really not worth the effort for several reasons.
He didn't tell me the risks involved but I can see why he glazed over it.
Also, as a future doctor, I can't sue him for career reasons. It's a fairly minor annoyance and I do feel rather violated but I'm just going to use this as a learning experience.
If this happened to any of you guys though, I would recommend that you sue. The doctor would likely settle out of court anyways.

If you have a mucocele, don't get it removed.
I had one in my lower lip from trauma and during the holidays, I decided to get it removed.
The surgeon has damaged my mental nerve..the labial branch I believe.... and now my right lower lip is permanently a little numb.
Fuck this.
So yea, don't have operations you don't need.

ok I understand the racist, sexist and homophobic one, but hateful language? does that mean you can't say bastard or anything? people sometimes say it joking about and you shouldn't be banned for that
You're not going to be banned for doing something in jest but doing something you think is funny but inherently offensive on a deeper level is not permitted.
We don't need a whole thread of 'you suck'.
Making multiple short posts (five words or less) over a short time period
The real problem I have with this is the "over a short time period" part. I consider 1 hour a short time period. It would be nice if they said "within 30 minutes" or something.
Short time period is adequate. If you're trying to raise your post count, you would post a lot of replies in a 'short amount of time'. Use some common sense. If we put 'don't make 10 replies in 30 minutes' then people would cry that they're banned for doing 9 posts in 30 minutes even though they would all be shitty posts.
Backseat modding: pointing out what needs to be deleted, banned, locked, destroyed.
Now I'm not complaining about this one but I just want to make sure. If you tell someone they have broken the rules and why does that count as backseat modding?
Are you a moderator? Are you sure they are breaking the rules?
And if they are breaking the rules, why do you need to post to tell them? We don't need ever user pointing out the obvious. This only contributes to the spam we have to read and clean up.
Creating parody threads, or posting with gimmick accounts.
This is a big problem. I find parody threads funny and I'm sure other people like them too. I understand if it's a parody thread to someone's pet dying or something, but I find it funny seeing a thread titled "damn I just got punched in the balls" then just below another one titled "I just punched someone in the balls". The gimmick accounts rule I understand though.
I don' t mind some parody threads but due to the fact that everyone tries to be really funny by creating a slew of parody threads at once, it was decided to do away with it all together.
Making stats threads.
I wouldn't make a stat thread, but I see no problem in someone making it. If someone's happy they're now level 12 then they should be able to post about it. Maybe they should have one thread where everyone can post their stats (if they want to) because they're proud of them.
Do you know how many users are on this forum? If everyone posted increased some sort of stat, then this whole page would be filled with stats.
No story threads, 'Rate me' threads, limited choice topics.
this is stupid. I like story threads when they're done well. I've read a few story threads made by people and they were really good.
Some are good- most are crap. Blame your predecesors.
If a thread looks like spam, don’t bother posting in it.
isn't spam meant to be stupid pointless annoying messaging. If people don't see some threads as that then they will post in them and get banned which is really annoying.
People make posts like 'Hi look at deez nuts' and get 15 replies. Then we ban everyone and they wonder what happened. Thus that rule was created.
I didn't find this in the rules but this is like the most annoying thing ever:
I read through a few pages of a topic then replied and got banned because it turned out that on the last page a moderator said "if someone else posts here then they will be banned" how are people meant to see this? I hardly ever read the last few pages before replying. You're replying to the topic creator not the last people to post so you shouldn't need to look. If the mod can't lock the topic because they got that ability taken away or something then they shouldn't be able to ban people for posting in it.
That is just purely ridiculous. You obviously don't know the purpose of a thread.
Let's have everyone post to answer the first post in the thread... yea.. then you'd get 1000 of the same replies.

It's not 'lol Internet'. You are interacting with real people.
You need to create topics with a more specific title.

Besides, you've already told the entire message board you have a problem so you've already told people you have problems.
If you're expecting sympathy, you're not getting any.
